I hate Westbrom so much!! Absolutely nothing team. Feckers started with a 5-4-1 formation ffs. Glad Leicester stuffed them in the end. They're just gonna bore the life out of the league and feck off back to the championship.

Also Vardy did absolutely nothing the entire game and ended up with two goals. Stat padding like always. I'll be livid if Werner isn't on pens like Tammy wasn't last season.

Everton do look good on paper. Never seen their midfield this quality in years. They'll have to make it work on the pitch though. Looks like a 4-4-2 diamond to me.

Everton's team looks good on paper but I bet they'll serve up dull performances again, just like last season. Allan is decent but hardly inspiring, same for Doucoure. It's a workhorse midfield.

Ancelotti going back to his diamond with some very good players, a good front 2, and good wing backs to provide the width. Will be interesting to see how they do, a big problem of theirs is usually attitude so if he can get their mentality right, Everton will do well this year. They'll be extremely reliant on Digne and Coleman though, no cover for both in a very fullback reliant system.

Still better than they had last season, they might as well not had a midfield.

On paper, this is easily the best everton team I've seen. I'd say it's stronger than spurs

You don't need to make a run, lose a marker and anticipate a pass to score a pen.

Stick me upfront for Man United for a season and I'd score no taps ins. Let me take all the pens and I'd score a few.
These days I'd suggest pens are actually harder than tap ins as keepers have access to all the vids.

Not all tap ins need some exquisite lead up play, you can literally be stood there as it breaks to you.

what did you guys expect from Westbrom with a team like that? They are in PL because they earned it.

Ancelotti going back to his beloved 442 diamond. Gattuso Pirlo Seedorf Kaka in 2005 and now Allan Doucoure Gomes James.
Ancelottis not really faithful to any formation tbh. He seems to play whatever formation he thinks fits the crop of players at hand.

Was quite surprised with the approach he took with his Chelsea team. Quite refreshing for a manager

Of course there's the odd flukey tap-in but all pens are super easy chances to score. Regardless of videos, 75% of pens are goals.

The reason they get looked down upon by some is that they do pad stats. Not all players take pens but they can all score tap-ins. For example this season will it be fair to compare Fernandez and Pogba's goal output, if Pogba takes zero pens but Fernandez takes a ton?

I never understand this sneering at penalties.

You're actually further away taking a pen than a lot of the other goals these players score!

Why is a pen worse than a tap in from a few yards from open play?
You don't have several defenders in the 18yard box rushing your decision?

I'd say Sheffield United's team looked worse on paper last season than this Westbrom side. They've got seasoned PL players in their team.

Used it at Chelsea the season we scored 104 goals.

Lampard/Cole
Malouda/Lampard Ballack/Essien
Mikel/Belletti

works well if you have good full backs. If you don’t.. good luck.

Is this the first time Gomes is playing Spurs since Son broke his leg?

I’m happy with that start.

WBA were awful but that was better play than what we served up after the restart.

Timmy Chestnuts looks a decent Chilwell replacement
I’ve not seen Chilwell have a better game in a long while. Considering the money involved, I’m certain you guys have come out of this saga the winners.

James is class above from all everton teammates. He still got the ability to negotiate away from the tight area. Good for everton.

Liking the way James Rodríguez is playing. Reminds me of Bruno a bit the way he makes space and time for himself and the passes he plays v

Everton look quite tidy on the ball and smooth going forward.

Spurs look like a Mourinho team.

Thought it was going to be a diamond but actually a 433 with James on the right.

This Everton squad must be right up there in terms of most expensive in the league surely?

Boring so far. Spurs the only ones to try and make something happen, mainly through Son.
