Come on. You really think United won't lose a game all season?Turn it around.
Would you want us to lose a game, not knowing If it would make a difference to whether we make a signing or not?
Losing tomorrow might make is very slightly more likely that we might sign someone. But, then come the end of the season we might miss out on something by 2 or 3 points.
Not very reassuring alright , but to be fair to Ole he has made it clear that he thinks the squad needs more quality and depth added to it and he has communicated that to the board. If the board do not share his ambition he is not going to throw his toys out of the pram, he is just going to try and get on best he can with what he has.My favourite line is "we can be the best at things that don't cost anything"
The question is when that's the case, and we don't meet objectives of the season, what would be Ole's fate? Would he be sacked, or it's the case of having the excuse out early? Not very reassuring alright , but to be fair to Ole he has made it clear that he thinks the squad needs more quality and depth added to it and he has communicated that to the board. Yes they can do what they want as long as a player is passed fit.It will still be an issue worth mentioning even without breaking the rules fiasco if Mason did not hit the ground running start of season. Obviously it does not matter to you since you are a Chelsea fan. I wonder if Chelsea fans and managers never complained that the FA used their players when it is deemed unnecessary. I wonder what you would say if all the national teams return your team injured back to you start of season because of their training methods. I mean, they have a right to do what they want right?
So when Lampard complains about the FA I wish to see you here out with the pitchfork demanding his resignation. Or does it only applies to Man United?
Losing the first game of the season would do nothing of that sort. Shocking that you are sticking with a comment, which was clearly made in frustration. What the feck are you talking about? I said it might get glazers to do something being the reactionary owners they are. We dithered around last season for 3-4 months before we signed Bruno who was clearly needed last summer. Yet again we’re going into the season with one signing while trying to consolidate our place in the top four. Heck, we should be trying to build on it and sign some fecking players. If it’s not sancho then Chiesa. If it’s not Chiesa then brooks. We could have signed Kuselevski for right wing had we did our scouting but feck all gets done and Ole is left starting the season with vdB who is undoubtedly a good player but hardly our glaring problem. If us losing a game against in 38 game season gets glazers to loosen the purse strings and do something then I’m all for it. And I’m as much of a ‘fan’ as yourself top red.. so jog the feck on.

I call it as I see it, if Lampard or any Chelsea manager was trying this guff i'd call it the same way, though i've not demanded any resignations as far as i recall.
let’s get this straight. We may not have the best of transfer season but our squad is still very strong. Of course we will not be winning the title this season and even with Sancho I doubt we will. Transfer or not top 4 is a must and we must be closer to the first, I.e. not 33 points behind. 10 points behind is and we take stock and progress again next season. Anything less is a failure and there is no excuse to save Ole.The question is when that's the case, and we don't meet objectives of the season, what would be Ole's fate? Would he be sacked, or it's the case of having the excuse out early?
I meant it's part of the manager duties' to push the board for the investment to get the result. Or it's all about the manager interest to keep his job while compromising with the board AKA Wenger, Moyes at Everton. We're not at the position during SAF time for this no value bullshit. Even SAF burdened some blame for the bad planning for his retirement. His genius can hide all those cracks, but there is only one SAF.
Those quotes are big yikes. Beyond even admitting defeat for random players, but on investing pretty much anything at all. They're so damning it almost seems made up. Loan returning player like a new signing. Injured player new signing. Full season new signing.... brutal.
Brutal. The most telling one is that "we can be the best at things that don't cost anything".Those quotes are big yikes. Spurs and arsenal have done nothing, Chelsea have signed shite, liverpool have got one good player but their crap squad is run on Klopp's spunk." We can be best at the things that don't cost anything. The culture here, the training, the coaching, getting fitter. "
Nasty quote. Basically Glazer propaganda. "Hey guys we dont care about challenging for titles any more. Ole's at the wheel to put on the spin and all we care about is top four. See ya suckers."
We don't have to be beaten on transfer by Spurs, City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal this summer window. All the top four rivals. We have vastly more capital and income than Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool. But we are being beaten on numbers of signings and quality of signings. Badly. Why?
You're delusionalSpurs and arsenal have done nothing, Chelsea have signed shite, liverpool have got one good player but their crap squad is run on Klopp's spunk.
If we can score goals we can win games. Our attack is amazing. I'm still upbeat. No doubt the Sancho deal will progress now that the Thiago deal has shown how deflated the market is.
To be fair I was saying this before Ole said anything and was already frustrated at the decision, and I know others were too so don’t lie about that.So he is according to you "clearly trained" in media, enough to perfectly handle what is being described as a potentially damaging presser, so again, I fail to see the problem. Like what is the claim, he was so stressed about doing the presser, which he handled well because he has been clearly trained for, that he needed a release and decided to order in a bit of totty, so the obvious error of judgement here is that of whoever decided he would do a presser and not himself?
I agree but don't see the relevance. Posters here are saying he handled the presser well, do you not think he was likely briefed by the England media team beforehand "if they ask about Harry just say this and that" etc?
No quite frankly. England can handle their players as they wish while they are on duty. much the same way they can play a player at left wing even if their club are trying to develop them as a right winger, is that undermining too?
What exactly came about directly from him doing a presser? Nothing as far as I can see. Really don't get the fumbling of the buck, there's no logic to it at all but I guess judging from this thread alone it has worked as there are enough readily happy to swallow it through their rose tinted specs.
this I agree with, the poor decision from Southgate was to room them together. If that was the beef it would be understandable, this hysteria about him doing a presser from which came a total of nothing is strange to say the least.
Calm down mate. Let’s collectively get behind the team.I responded two posts below it you absolute shitstirring prick, good that you read through the whole thread and then the day after thought it would be a good idea to @ me though. Anything useful to post about the topic or nah?
Edit: you are a cu*t, drink bleach.
Yeah I'm deliberately making a point because I'm fairly sure a mod will be involved soon.Calm down mate. Let’s collectively get behind the team.
That were some real poor quotes, any other previous manager would have taken a shitstorm! Kinda shows what a mess we are with that kind of management when we have to focus on things that dont cost a thing. Pressure is now on the players and Ole to deliver but we all know we are not good enough yet if we dont investThose quotes are big yikes. Beyond even admitting defeat for random players, but on investing pretty much anything at all. They're so damning it almost seems made up. Loan returning player like a new signing. Of course not. I also never want us to go out and lose a match. If we lost today, it wouldn’t make a difference to any incoming transfer activity.Come on. You really think United won't lose a game all season?
Losing tomorrow or in April will be the same point wise. But losing now would highlights the weakness of this team and get a chance to fix that.
But you can do feck all when the transfer window close
I agree... how can you ever want us to lose?If being a top red means not ever wanting the team to lose, then I guess I'm a top red.
You're not
This post isn't reactionary at all.Let’s get beat against palace. Maybe we’ll actually waken the feck up and do something in the market. We are run by bunch of reactionary cnuts after all.
Well that went south fast!Calm down mate. Let’s collectively get behind the team.
Well that went south fast!
How does he cope with all these high powered board meetings if he's that touchy?
Are you smoking crack? ‘Liverpool’s crap squad’? Really?Spurs and arsenal have done nothing, Chelsea have signed shite, liverpool have got one good player but their crap squad is run on Klopp's spunk.

I think it’s sarcasm tbf. It surely has to be. ‘Spurs and Arsenal have done nothing’, ‘Thiago deal has shown how deflated (deflated! ) the market is’ and ‘Chelsea have signed shite’ are even more criminal statements than that. Are you smoking crack? ‘Liverpool’s crap squad’? Really?
What utter drivel. Welcome to my block list. All the best with your ivory tower complex.... p.s. From a qualified professional.Again, it comes down to opinion. Agree or disagree I don't care. 50% of my job is to relate to my business partners on a emotional intelligence level (and i work for a 100 billion revenue plus company). You do not need to be qualified or have an academic degree to see certain aspects. On that topic, I will state I have a 1st class qualification from University of Oxford that entitles me to be able to understand how to read emotions from a leadership perspective. Again, I will state, you do not need academic records to judge this, I am just fortunate enough that I have this qualification but even without it, it should be the norm, to be able to understand the demands and pressures that individuals have and how it impacts the words one communicates. I am not a psychological expert but I do have a level of emotional intelligence to understand when someone is happy or sad inside, despite what the externalities suggest. My only advice to you would be, do not judge a book by it's cover and learn to add value to any statement you blurt out. I wish you the best of luck in the future but please hold back from pointless responses.
Had to watch the press conference to see what all this was about...Ole looks focused to me and just comes across as if he's very busy and press conferences are a bit of a pain. What utter drivel. Welcome to my block list. All the best with your ivory tower complex.... p.s. From a qualified professional.
I personally think they’re fair quotes, and bodes well if that’s his attitude. These are all aspects of the club that stagnated since Fergie left, they need fixing. We’ve basically become Newcastle of old, where signings are the be all end all of the club. When you fail, just sign more players, hype the fans up for a couple of weeks, never address the root causes." We can be best at the things that don't cost anything. The culture here, the training, the coaching, getting fitter. "

Yeah, I actually laughed when I read that. Don't know if he's trolling. That line about being the best at things that don't cost anything is an instant classic. Those quotes are big yikes. Beyond even admitting defeat for random players, but on investing pretty much anything at all. They're so damning it almost seems made up. Loan returning player like a new signing. Press conferences are a means to an end, that is all. If you want to go in there with a pre-conceived plan or to attempt to influence certain areas then you can. This can also spectacularly backfire, #rafafachts. Certain managers seem to revel in this spotlight, others not so. This all comes down to personality, nature & how comfortable we are in our given surroundings. As human's we are all adapting to situations all the time. It's inherent in our natural thought process.Had to watch the press conference to see what all this was about...Ole looks focused to me and just comes across as if he's very busy and press conferences are a bit of a pain.
Doesn't help body language when the conference screen is obviously downwards so he keeps looking down...
It's neither really. It's just the alternative to "we need players and if we don't get them we'll have a rubbish season".Some see those quotes as yikes, I see them as a subtle dig at the owners. Also he said we're working on deals.
He covered all bases basically. It's neither really. It's just the alternative to "we need players and if we don't get them we'll have a rubbish season".
He's got to keep positive in case they don't get anyone.
I find it alright. I don’t know what he was asked but what I got from the several quotes is he basically wanted to get across:Yeah, I actually laughed when I read that. Don't know if he's trolling. That line about being the best at things that don't cost anything is an instant classic.
How, pray tell me, did we not do that? We sent him on loan to BD and his attitude was questioned so they sent him back. How can a young player go to BD with it's rep for bringing on young players and feck up?You remember how we didn't do our best to keep Januzajs feet on the ground. Ole is trying to do the opposite of that with Mason.
Such common sense is not allowed on these forumsI find it alright. I don’t know what he was asked but what I got from the several quotes is he basically wanted to get across:
1. We already have good players so the pool of players who can really improve us is small + the players in that small pool are usually that good that the price is high and selling club don’t want to sell them.
2. By mentioning the above as well as Bruno, VdB, Pogba being fit, etc. he sends out the message to all those players that they are special and he values them (compare that to for example Moyes’ quotes about needing 6-7 players to improve United or you can also compare it to many of Mourinho’s quotes. Players don’t get a moral boost from such negative messages.)
3. He is also having a little dig at Glazers/Woodward by saying that he and his players can only try to do as good as they can in areas which they can control (training, fitness, etc.), but transfers (things which cost money) are out of their hand and the owners’ responsibility
Also these quotes came one day before the first game of our season, Ole can’t be setting a negative mood or sending negative messages among his team.
That’s at least how I see it. A direct attack at the owners isn’t going to help anyone.
Completely agree with this. I think he hates doing these pressers, and I do sympathize with him. He has a terrible job in the end, having to balance what is probably in the end quite an unhealthy desire to make this job work out with the reality of the club structure he is shackled to. If those bags under his eyes are an indicator of his frustration and stress levels I wouldn't be surprised. For his own sake and that of his family I hope he doesn't burn out. Those quotes are big yikes. Beyond even admitting defeat for random players, but on investing pretty much anything at all. They're so damning it almost seems made up. Loan returning player like a new signing. Injured player new signing. Full season new signing.... brutal.
