You swear every single big name that joins the club will be a Di Maria or Sanchez? Would you turn your nose up on Thiago since he's a big name?

There's a reason there's a gap between Liverpool and City. He's been totally mismanaged by Barcelona, forcing him to come back from injuries too early when his not ready. The only reports of him and his "attitude" is from Barcelona newspapers feeding an agenda against him
What makes you say that? I'm talking about a specific player, one that has gone to Barcelona (a dream location for many youngsters) and has repeatedly turned up late and has barely played through injuries. Nothing about that screams that he wants or should be a United player.

Thiago made it known he wanted to play for Liverpool. Haven't seen Dembele doing the same about United. Big risk this one, no two ways about that.

Isn't he the player addicted to video games to the point he has arrived late to training due to being up to the early hours on his Playstation, or am I confusing him for someone else?

Agreed. In terms of talent, I'd actually rank him a smidge higher than Mbappe. It's just a question of whether we can mould him in to that player from the raw tools he possesses.

If we had any ambition as a club we'd get both him and Sancho.
Completely agree bro.

I rated him higher than Mbappe before he joined Barca too. I just feel he needs a stable environment to thrive and we can potentially give him that.

My Barca friend loves him. Every time we buy from one of the teams that my friends are fans of Im always like....hey so that guy finally decided it was time to move to a big club. Works like a charm every time.
I kinda want this to happen just so I can trash talk haha

Yes that's him but Sancho has similar issues too.

I would take him on loan in an instant but apparently Barca want an obligation to buy included and he's priced at 100m...

So we want a loan but Barca want a sale for 100 million euros? Proper progress that is
Sounds so close it could be completed by Wednesday arvo. Or in reality we‘ll still be preparing to consider a counter off on the 15th of October. Let’s not rush things...

I agree with you, it's a big risk but there's potential there for him to come to a different environment and he would have considerably less pressure to succeed starting off. Pogba and Martial here along with likes of Bruno could nature him.

If we can't get Sancho in, then he's probably the next best option for me. No permanent deal or anything like that at the end but a reasonable option to buy fee would not be that bad and could allow us to move onto other areas of the squad that badly need addressing.

Barcelona being open to sell him would concern me, I know they're desperate for cash and to reduce the wage bill - they must not see him as part of their rebuild but we do?

He was actually named as one of the players not for sale by Bartomeu.

This will not happen because Sancho will remain our long term target, this year or next. He is english and that is the difference, long term Sancho is who we want.

I bet anything we get Perisic for a year before we get Dembele. If we get Dembele we got to commit to him which means no Sancho. Thats not going to happen. We will sign Perisic instead.

In that case is this a non starter then?
I would assume, especially since Castle hasn't been that reliable since Mourinho's early days. But there is also the possiblity that Barcelona needing money means that they can be convinced by a good offer.

He would perfectly fit the narrative of an expensive panic buy at the end of a poor window and start to a new season.

It's gonna be real hard signing Sancho next year, when you will be out of CL and he will be wanted by other teams like PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona and RM

Barca likely don't similar to how Madrid didn't with Robben and Sneijder and it benefitted Bayern and Inter immensely.

I honestly think Dembele suits a team that implements fast transitions and we're a team that is working towards that game style but need players of Dembele's profile to make it work.

They still have Messi for the RW for a while longer, may even have signals he will stay beyond this season.
And they signed Trincão this window as a young prospect/backup. And have other attacking players that could play on the right if needed.

Dembele hasn't been a big hit at Barca and they will need money for a new big name signing to calm the fanbase once Messi leaves.

As the situation is I can see them being OK with not having a €100m (their valuation) backup player.

I understand why Barca would sell, and I don't think it means he isn't a good player, but I'm also not convinced he would be a good fit here.

The bolded have no real interest in english players unless they are superstars and Sancho is not even close to that. The days of Owen and McManaman are gone.

Liverpool and Chelsea meanwhile cannot outbid these days.

Don’t get me wrong the player who moved to Barca looked the absolute real deal, we just haven’t seen him reach that level again and so it all comes back to what sort of deal it will be.

I would take a loan with an option to buy however I think the club would want a permanent option and will be panicked into paying over the odds.

I’m super wary after the Sanchez debacle as well, after getting rid of him we don’t want to replace him with another who just takes a pay check.

Dembélé play on either side, so Messi is irrelevant.

If he (Ousmane) can convince Ole he's up for it then I'm all for it. Ousmane is supremely talented and with the right drive and a good environment he can truly blossom into one of the best players in the world, he seems to me (judging from eye-test analysis^^) like one of these genius players that has those 2-3 seasons of being unstoppable or best you've ever seen.

He lost his way in Barca a bit but I never honestly thought it was a good transfer for him to begin with, and switching now at the age of 23 to a United team that's starting lineup averages 24.5 seems like an ideal situation for him to "restarts" his career. Not only that he also has Pogba and Martial to help the gelling.

Now, before anyone says otherwise, I know Jadon fits in even better and I really wanted him at United taking on that number 7 shirt but I'm already content in not getting him this year and we need someone for the RW desperately (unfortunately), if Ousmane doesn't satisfy we can always buy Sancho later and have Ousmane for depth.

This.

Sancho is perfect for us but in the right conditions there's better alternative than Dembele

Well they have Fati as well.

Again, not saying they are desperate to sell him.
But I can understand them cashing out if the right offer can be made.

What would we say a reasonable obligation to buy price is, if we do loan him? I don't see us spending 100m euros on him.
