Was never in doubt lads

United individually and collectively United are a mile off the pace at moment and mostly due to awful preparation for this season.

Brighton without doubt deserved something out of that game they impressed me against Chelsea and again today if they continue to play like that they won't be near the relegation battle.

United play Brighton again next will hard to beat today's drama

I want us to win every game of the season like that.
Same I enjoy the fake fans in the match thread that Posting negativity and burying the club but as soon as Bruno penalty went in they disappeared.

Were going to get hammered soon If we dint improve. Brighton look like the had extra man all time when on the ball. Brighton deserved a win today. Were brutal. No way ole be happy with the performance. Looks like players were ran in to the ground this week in training, looked tired.

We are garbage. I think Pogba needs to be sold ASAP while he has some value. I think we looked healthy with Fred Matic and Fernandes last year for a long spell. When he got back things were going downhill. Fernandes was getting worse and worse and even Matic was getting worse. I blame Pogba as he looks slow and lost out there.
Defense ... They are not great but we shouldn't be defending that much!!! Our midfield press is pathetic !!!

Ole needs to make some harsh decision in the near future if he is a true boss.

The way Ole reacted after the whistle went as if it was all part of a tactical masterclass felt a bit wrong.
I don't think that's what it was to be fair - I think he was utterly furious and not willing to celebrate as if we had deserved to feel good after that performance.

Ole needs to go back to management school. Absolutely fecking shocking.

This stupid 4231 formation needs to die. Playing two holding midfielders seems to make us even more defensively vulnerable.

Solskjaer looks massively out of his depth.

With a defense like ours, Ole decides to hang on to a one goal lead! Tactically very naive. With the players we have, our only strength is our attack ( in theory at least).

Piss poor. AWB and Pogba a 2 out of 10. Every single cross on the left side from Brighton AWB was waay late and we were lucky not to concede any of that. Only touch of class was Bruno's through ball and Rashford's finishing.

Crazy game. We've been pretty much played off the park, one of our least deserved Premier League wins.

A set piece, a counter-attack, and a penalty (by the way, these handball rules are a complete farce; both this and Lindelöf's last week were completely accidental and should never have been penalties with sane laws) - it's all very typical. We had no control of the game, didn't create a single chance from open play that wasn't a lightning-fast, two-pass counter-attack. We defended poorly, passed the ball poorly, and just basically looked second best throughout. And that with our vaunted strongest XI.

This will be a long, hard, and shite season. What a penalty by Bruno though.

Our front 6 was terrible today yet we scored 3 goals which is the positive to take away from this. Brighton had no problem working the ball from their third onto the next and into the final third. Frequently you could see the United goal in view, the back 4 in place with Fred and Matic in front of them but Bruno and the front 3 nowhere to be seen. Shoddy defensive work from those 4 specifically.

There seems to be so many fans unhappy we won, they can't moan as reactionary as they'd like to be.

Knew that United would win if I don't watch. :D

Joking aside, couldn't watch the match but followed the last 20-30 minutes in match day thread here. Can't comment on the performance, even if it seems pretty bad.

But this is really a huge win as a result. We absolutely needed this. Any bad result here would have been a disaster. Now we are at least in the mix and recovered from the 3 points lost against Palace. It's also one of our toughest away games against non top 6 side this season so all well and good.

Rashford scoring would do him worlds of good. He's very important for us if we want to do anything this seaosn.

Onwards and upwards. Enjoy the 3 points and learn from mistakes happened today.

This is going to be a long god-awful season for us. That was a really bad performance. AWB atrocious. Pogba jogging about aimlessly like he's having a stroll in the park. We look like we are going to concede every time the opposition attacks.

Saw someone post in the match thread asking if people think Sancho alone fixes this. I don't think anyone think he's a magic bullet he'll be a big part of the eventual fix. That deal needs to be done along with sorting our defense (and I'm not sure a CB purchase alone will sort that either).

Absolutely horrible performance but glad for the three points. I don't think Ole has a clue about the tactical side of the game. He should get help in that area.

COME ON UNITED!!

I can't remember watching a game where the final whistle was un-blown to award a penalty. Wild.

Totally undeserved win. If we were coached as well as Brighton, and Brighton were coached as well as us, we'd have absolutely hammered them. That's a good starting 11 and it just doesn't know how to play or what to do. Man for man its a far superior side to Brighton, but it amounts to nothing if there's no plan. They were first to everything, so aggressive to every loose ball, and they just walked through our defence with ease whilst we couldn't string a spell of possession together for longer than 10 seconds. They didn't leave either of their wings wide open or any of our attackers unmarked either, as we did for most of the game. It was grim.

feck Brighton though. Connolly especially, the diving little shite. They deserved to hammer us, but still, feck them.

Why did it seem like we played without a right side defence??? They had acres of space.

that was a ridiculous game. And ole and co will be saved a absolute bashing as Brighton we’re more than value for the 3pts let alone a draw

Bruno was average today. But yet, set up first goal with his superb free kick, assited second with superb through ball and then converted a pen. I will take that.
He didn't track back for Brighton's equalizer though

Doesnt make it less of a pen.
How about the MOTM not fluffing his lines everytime he had a chance and cost the side the game?
Against Sevilla we missed chance after chance and deserved to lose because of it. Im not going to be hypocritical now and claim Brighton deserved the win when they shit the bed in the same way.
Fair points.

I switched off at the final whistle. Only just realised we won thanks to the OP! That was a clear handspiel.

Dreadful performance again. None of the back four were at it today. Bruno was off it too. Awful. A team of Sanchos wouldn’t help us. We need defenders who defend. Even AWB was off it today. I’ve no idea how we got away with it. Brighton deserved the 3 points.

Woeful all over the pitch for much of the game.

Pogba clearly isn't over the covid yet, shouldn't be in the squad.

Maguire's heads gone after his greek adventure, he shouldn't be in the squad either.

Bruno is struggling, but he needs movement and we don't really have much.

Matic is still miles better than anyone in the club at playing the holding position, we need to be looking at someone to replace him in the next two transfer windows, because mctominay and fred are not that player.

Rashford is trying to play himself into some form, which is something, because the other two up front look like they just started preseason.

Our players aren't 'crap', they are underperforming badly, poor coaching and organization, and I think a couple of new faces would have spurred them on.

We need the winger we all know we want, we need a decent centreback because the ice man has melted, and at least one fullback.
