With Ighalo most likely leaving soon, our attack is pretty thin, especially considering the season ahead. I can see us signing someone for sure.
Gotta be Josh King & Ismail Sarr....we have an additional 2 weeks to sign them which is perhaps why Woodwank isn't in panic mode...!!

What the heck are we playing at? I would have thought the club would have categorically put out a statement by denying interest or walk away or just stay absolutely quiet after BVB statement today. Instead we tell the press the club is still relaxed about the situation on Sancho? This bizarre mystery really belongs to the X files

As someone has already stated, if we’ve bid £91m already which was rejected and we are £17m away from the asking price, then as good as he is it makes the VDB deal at 40m euro even more bizarre considering Sancho was the priority and RW the priority position. If lack of funds is the excuse, then that’s poor management. RW was a bigger concern and priority than midfield.

Are we waiting for further sales and loan deals (clearing wages off as well) to add into the budget for Sancho hence the ‘relaxation’? I don’t know what to believe anymore

We all know Dortmund have a habit of back tracking on what they say.

But if they sold him now, after what Zorc has just said, it'd be utterly ridiculous. He would look a shimmering clown of Woodward 2013 magnitude.

We all thought the club went for Donny to save cash for Sancho because Grealish was too expensive at that point of time. Turned out this wasn’t enough, at least that’s the way things are looking right now

not sure how old you are but he was a serviceable player that Sir Alex liked using him in certain games, important games (would start to cover -that's what serviceable player do). At some point, it was almost like Darren was like his "lucky charm". Darren showed potential earlier on but never lived up thus turned into a serviceable player.
The point of all this is that a team needs those kind of players. Going back to my premise, DJ is only 22 years old. We just signed him. He can certainly become a serviceable player ala D.Fletcher. Cheers
Fletcher was considered an absolute certainty to start the 2009 CL final against Barcelona and his red card at the Emirates was a terrible blow. Can you honestly see James ever becoming that important to the team?

Well think twice about spending big money on Sancho, but end up paying 40M each for those two :)

Not so if he has 120M euros in BVB’s bank account

I agree, but I think they’ll panic buy someone. They know the fans will be out in full force if we don’t sign someone.

I think so too. We'll do some last minute fan appeasement. And that's our best case scenario it seems
And that's that. Tail between our legs stuff.

How many years will be left on his contract next season?
Do you think after this debacle, and with United effectively saying he isn't worth the money, that Sancho would have his heart set on a move here..?
I'm honestly not so sure, maybe we have pissed on our own chips.

He would sell it as being smart enough to extract €120m during a pandemic for a wantaway player and pledge to reinvest that smartly over next 12 months to make the team even stronger.
I think most fans of any selling type club would begrudgingly accept that

It will be done. They will say that the offer in the end checked out and that Sancho forced them to do the deal in the end.

Less than 4 days to go for this ridiculous saga!
Just relax with Woody and go with the flow!

Off topic, but what I would give for a player like Park in this United team. His skill was underrated and his football IQ was so high, those traits were just overshadowed in the public perception by the fact that he worked his ass off every time he stepped onto the pitch.
fred or Herrera are the closest we’ve had in recent years

I have some great muppetry going round my football teams WhatsApp. Sending some dodgy voice note, claiming it's John marquis. Says Sanchos having his medical at Saint George's park, will play his last game for Dortmund and complete move. Silly season is truly here - but hey, any if you want to cling to anything, there you go!

Is that all from Castle? Interesting. Have to wait until some more journo's confirm to see if it's credible.
But it sounds like an attractive offer, and suggests we also have one more offer possible after this. But our issue is clearly cashflow over next few years due to covid19 income loss.
