Comfortable 1st. Bar the one and only save from DDG I think we look like we are at 50% for some reason. RB have hardly had a sniff. The attack on the other hand could do us a favor and help us out a bit.

I can’t believe people are having a go at Fred
He makes us tick and works very hard continuously
    Amazing energy levels
He also tries to pass forward which is what we want instead of the safe sideways passing

Tough game. We are being overrun in the midfield. That is what you get playing Pogba, Beek, Greenwood who aren't really defensive players. Fred is all over place trying to cover up those holes those three give. Naive play by Fred because it lease us open in the middle of the park. Solskjaer must fix this problem in HT. Either they press or come back, now it is that they are just in the middle.

Despite that, we are still compact down there. And I'm pleased with our defending from our defenders.

It's an embarrassment that people think Shaw should be playing for this club.

The lackadaisical nature in the way he plays is infuriating.

Their pressing and movement is ridiculous!
That is actually one of RBs worst games in terms of pressing and movement that I've seen them play recently.

I am not complaining though. One more decent half and we're sitting comfortably at the top of our group.

AWB quic developing into one of the best RBs in world football.

    Certainly the best defensively.
He’s the best defensive fullback in the world imo, yet we have to sit here and read people tell us he’s ‘actually rubbish at football’ most weekends.

He’s made us so much more solid.

I’m watching a match where he’s barely touched the ball. I’d love to know what you’re watching and a little of what you’re smoking while watching.
I am watching the player who has covered the most distance on the pitch from both sides and barely given the ball away, again unlike most of his teammates. If that is not good enough for you then you can go back to your playstation.

Don’t be silly. We scored a great goal. You can’t blame him for that.
Of course I can. I saw this last season as well. Upamecano has poor awareness of players running in behind him and I was not surprised that’s how we scored.

They do, it just isn't show on the broadcast.
So that's UEFA's way of transparency?
Actually screw US Sports (beside golf) but they know at least how do present ref's decisions properly.

Anyway solid performance. Defensively very strong.

Terrible ref. Assume that was his last game in CL.

Also think the goal was rather offside than not. Don't understand why they don't have line technology like in the PL...
I think it's the exact same but the interpretation is different. In the PL it seems to be even if 1 strand of hair is offside then it's given as offside. Here in Europe it seems to be an appreciable amount of the player has to be offside before it's called as offside.

Personally I prefer this method where there is a margin of error. Think the PL has been way to anal with how they do it

High quality absolutely fascinating match. There is so much tactical nuance to be admired from both managers but with OGS winning the argument so far. Massive credit to our manager.

Feels like a chess game with either side knowing one successful offensive overload will deliver a goal, which is why we are ahead.

our defence have been brilliant, especially WanB who is off the charts. Fred‘s intensity is also fantastic but he’s been careless losing ball. Great to also see a fantastic defensive game from Pogba so far and a critical assist for Greenwood’s goal.

Donny struggling to make an impact but has been pitch perfect when he could get on the ball.. big worry is Martial.

so long as we don’t go behind before 70 mins. I think we will blow them away in final phase once Bruno, Rashford. cavani and McT provide fresh legs and superior attack.

Yep, he is the only player in the team who puts pressure on their players. He is the only one who actually knows how to press, which is the reason why he ends up with so many interceptions.

The reason why we scored the goal is that he pressed the player to win the ball. A lot of our players wouldn't close them down.

We were looking really good we scored the goal and now we haven’t been able to string two passes together since. It’s bizarre. Defending well so far though, need to keep possession better 2nd half and sort out our final ball because we look like we can get at them when we do go forward.

    From here to there
    That was a good half.
It was. Once again a lot of people don't enjoy United unless they win 4-0 and the other team have no efforts on our goal.

Think that was a really smart tactical performance and is currently going to the intended game plan.

And look at what we can bring on later in the game to mix it up. Cavani, Bruno and Rashford. That's a lot of attacking talent

God, the matchday thread really attracts them, doesn't it? Wan Bissaka doing an important job. They are a good team, great movement, etc. Yes, lack of subtlety apparent, lack of the killer ball (except for PP assist), good to see them working Leipzig earlier on. Need to keep up the energy in the second half.

We are not playing well, but have the result. I take that.
Lots to work on for OGS though.
The way we play will not take us far.

He has a lot of energy but he is also being bypassed in midfield quite easily and his passing has been alarming. I’d rather him than McTominay for the minute though.

We are shambles playing from the back.

Gonna have to drop VDB deep to sort out that mess. It's really bad.

You’re not following the agenda
It’s a fact. There is only one CB on the pitch that has cost his team a goal so far. It’s this new United supporter thing to wank over other teams players instead of appreciating our own.

And Matic is like a 60 y.o. Riquelme playing in DM. Game passed him by so fast.

To be fair, we have not had one chance at goal bar the Greenwood goal. We need to do more going forward because it's quite negative in our approach for a team at home

Well, the PL does it how the rules say it.
Wenger has an very intersting approach which would result in way more goals.
I would just go with the feet. Further foot of defender vs. further foot of attacker, in doubt towards the attacker.

Do you watch the nfl? They literally just get a phone call for the big decisions and don't show you anything. Besides , bt sports analyzed it and reckons he waz onside.

Leipzig have moved right up the pitch in a crazy way and it’s working well. The team still looks comfortable though.

Dominated the first 25 mins but let them come onto us after that. Played quickly out of the back before the goal but then dropped the tempo and have lost the ball too much in those areas. Pogba + AWB very good

Weird I think Martial has played very well in the time he's got the ball, not sure what some are seeing.

The problem is that we are sitting back so there aren't actually any options to go long. It doesn't help that Martial nor Greenwood are average/poor in the air.

They are pressing like madmen so we don't have time pass out the back. We need to push forward in the second half.
