Ole has finally grown a pair and is making bold decisions and subbing early as opposed to playing safe and not making changes till the 85th min.
This was my biggest criticism of him last season. I even thought lampard had that edge over him as lampard isnt shy in making subs. Something he probably picked up from jose or maybe its just something smart managers do.
I hope Ole continues to do this. One may say he trusts the squad more to do so, but I thought at times last season he had a bench to use but just didn't use it.
That’s true. Although you could argue it’s because he feels like he now has the players on the bench to influence a game.
I’m impressed with how little shots we have given up in the PSG and RBL games. Obviously Brighton wasn’t good in this aspect, but it seems like he’s found a way to set up in the big games and defend well, but not rely hugely on the goalkeeper.
This is the thing I’m most pleased about. Even those games last year against City, or the PSG game 2 years ago, it seems like we were just defending and relying on a lucky counter. Now we seem to have an actual plan to contain and be purposeful when we have the ball.
