Oh wow CNN says that Ohio expects a lot more early votes, that so far only 29% of the counted votes are early votes. That is fecking great if true.

Whatever the result it's so mad that America not only voted this guy but is now giving him another chance after the last 4 years
Trump detractor though I am, I don’t think this is a helpful line of thinking. There’s clearly a problem if a sociopath like Trump is genuinely favoured to the alternative(s) by a significant portion of voters. It’s not just coincidence or luck that has put him in touching distance; it’s worthwhile attempting to understand why there’s perhaps a swing toward the republicans with Trump at the helm. It’s entirely unhelpful to label all his voters as ‘idiots’ — not that you have.

I could sort of understand people being disillusioned and sick of the status quo in 2016 and voting for Trump. After four years of his shite, the fact that Biden isn't winning at least 40 states is just proof that the US is a fundementally broken nation. If Trump is re-elected I officially lose the last remnant of hope I had for them. I was on the way there when Dubya got a second term, got pushed further in 2016, and they just keep getting fecking worse.

Worrying what's being said about the North Carolina vote, most of counted votes are from early vote.

Wider picture looking good for Biden after the early minor dissapointment of florida (Miami).

Texas even being close is a huge plus for Dems. It was a write off state until the last decade or so.

Man you learn so much during these county polls, never knew there is a Mecklenburg county in the USA.
The whole country really is a big copy of European areas.

What happened?
According to CNN, 97% of the estimated 66% votes reported in North Carolina right now is the early vote.

They expect this to drop to the 70s by the end. Which means this Blue wave might be a false dawn?

Yep, all the freaking out here is purely down to the shock of Miami-Dade. So sick of that county always hogging election night attention.

Things a bit more optimistic in here than they were 20 mins ago.

So I'm expecting someone to bring in doom and gloom any second now

Why does he keep saying that Biden will win if he gets Ohio? I presume he's not chatting shit, so what other states is it implied he'll have taken from Trump?

Most projections had Ohio as red. If it flips, that's a path for Biden that most predictions did not consider.
It was projected to go red for Trump so would be a huge moment for Biden to steel it from him
Cheers, thought it was a proper swingstate. Just heard that there hasn't been a Republican elected as President without carrying Ohio, so great news so far in that case.

Early settlers really didn't have much of an imagination. New Amsterdam is one thing. But then the English take over and the best they can come up with is New York? Seriously. I hope that if we ever colonise other solar systems, we won't name the first Earth-like planet Earth 2.0 ffs.

It's more that Trump's path to 270 is extremely narrow, Ohio makes it even more so, he'd need a clean sweep elsewhere

It’s a bit mad but otherwise NY, TX, FL and CA would decide all the elections. This way it’s OH, PA, FL....

Wait.....
I don't want it to be based on population necessarily or size but just seems a bit bonkers that in a place like florida 10 million people( almost 48-49 percent) vote for one candidate and yet that candidate gets nothing from that state

Pretty much every British person I speak to says Trumps a loon and they hope he loses.

BUT, 'experts' say Biden less likely to give UK a decent trade deal. With Brexit and Covid, our economy really needs some good news/a decent trade deal.

Trump/good deal Vs no Trump/bad deal?
Trump won't give us any better of a deal, he'll just help the Tories sell it.

If Biden wins Ohio then he can even lose PA and still win the election. It’s actually a very hard election for Biden to lose, the polls would have had to be wildly off, far more than 2016 for him to lose.

If Biden flips Ohio he can afford to lose Pennsylvania. But he'd still have to win Wisconsin and Michigan.

Though if he flips Ohio you would expect him to win all 3.

To win tonight Biden has to take 3 rust belt states from Trump, essentially.

Trump is terrible for the entire world. And If Trump won Boris is more likely to go for a not deal brexit apparently.

It's hard to see Biden winning Ohio but not winning Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Not impossible but unlikely.
