Honestly. They said absolutely feck all yesterday. Maybe mentioned it like once in passing.

E: In fact, wasn't it Santorum of all people?? Says it all.
Their general coverage of all Senate races has been incredibly poor imo.

Getting a little bored now of the lack of news, I'm in danger of doing some actual work for the first time in days. When is GA/PA expected to be called?

Trumps policies have actually made china stronger than they were before. TPP was supposed to create a trading block that would counteract the influence of China but Trump went ahead with his simplistic all trade is bad policy and withdrew from TPP. Also, he's done feck all to help Uyghyrs in Xinjiang and has been pretty quit on Hongkong. China have been steadily increasing their influence throughout the world through the belt and road initiative so, I really don't get how you think Trump has made any significant progress on China.
Trump's USA has also lost a lot of moral high ground to China. Many countries see the US as unreliable and unreasonable in the way it conducted the trade wars.

Pretty mad comparing West Virginia and Virginia then and now. Virginia's pretty much safe Democrat now, West Virginia's probably Trump's best state.
Considering the history of the two states, it's quite amusing in a way.

Does Bible even talk about gays though?
I'm pretty sure I read some pretty crazy stuff about sentenicing gays to death by stoning in the Old Testament a few years ago. I recall that men being gay was a bit worse than women as well, for some reason. The same section also talked about punishment for adultery, incest and such. I have no idea what book this was, I was just fooling around out of boredom.

To me it looks like the clearest Dem strategy from here on out is figuring out why they got a smaller mix of the hispanic vote (which is diverse in itself, regionally and in other ways) than 2016 and figure out what can be potentially rectified without it being a loss to other parts of the electorate that also voted Dem this time.
One challenge with this is going to be getting past labeling countries of origin as potential subgroups within the Latino culture. We already specifically label Cubans, so wouldn’t be a new policy or phenomenon, but when these subgroups who will be labelled specifically as Honduran or specific parts of Mexico, for example, or other Caribbean countries become as defined as Cubans, when this starts to occur, democrats will be the ones labeling them. Don’t see how it could be labeled anything other than country names. There will be pushback to this & there will be resentment towards the Democratic Party due to this.

Is there another way of effectively labeling the factions within the Latino culture in America, a way that will best define them against the others?

Not sure if its the same day but they would both likely be in early Jan.

The advantage the Dems would have is that they would have time to fundraise, organize, and bring in the heavy artillery (Obama etc.) to get out the vote in Jan. Control of the Senate would literally be at stake, so you can bet the house both sides will go all in to win.
Hopefully, they spend a lot of money on ads to remind how Perdue and Loeffler made money on stock exchange with inside info on Covid while lying to the American people.

Trump will lose this election despite having the most votes ever for a Republican and 3rd most ever (behind Biden and Obama in 08)

He hasnt underperformed.. People just hate him a lot too..

Bloody hell.. 4 years and he ends up with nearly 69m votes.
Trump will beat the Obama 08 number when it's all done.

If you are really religious and believe in The Bible, I don't know how you could even vote for Trump. The Bible is nothing but a photo-op for him
I've tried to get answers from my aunt and a couple others. Some will say it's an abortion stance, that I get. But when it comes to garbage like "Dems hate god," "Dems took god out of school," "we're a Christian nation and no other religion should be here!" and so forth, it's clear they're just stuck in "the other" bullshit.

The teacher next door to me, devout Christian, feels the same way...

...and absolutely can’t stand people like that.

So, there are some out there. Just few and far between.

Puerto Rico has, for the 6th time now, voted for statehood.
Any possibility of that becoming a reality in 2022 if the Dems can flip the senate? Do the Dems even unilaterally support making PR a full state? Someone here said there was no guarantee it would be a consistently blue state.

Think that argument makes a lot of sense to me? I know of a lot of liberal religious people who fear that the progressive democrats ridicule religion way too much (whether true or not). I agree though if the alternative is voting for Trump (probably the worst practicing representative of christianity you can find) it makes no sense voting for him either.

DC statehood is a much safer bet.

The parties switched like earth's magnetic poles?

It's not just the parties but demographic changes as well. Also, 1976 was an odd one with Ford being not all that conservative and Carter being from the South which mattered more then.

Dems taking the bible belt and Repubs taking the West coast? Mad tings.
Dems ran a southern Sunday School Bible teacher, Peanut Farmer, ex Governor in 1976. He's still alive - Jimmy Carter.

A little off topic but just to continue down that rabbit hole a little further, I thought this analysis of that little swish in the bible belt they've held onto since then was very interesting. Start of the Twitter thread here:

My Grandma voted Trump in 2016 because "he's a christian". There's no science behind it, Fox and radio were her news.

The depressing thing is that she was a lovely woman that raised 7 kids and then took care of 6 of my cousins. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more different to Trump than her.

Weird year because the Democrat was from Georgia and on the heels of Nixon/Ford.
Not too dissimilar from JFK's map, though. But certainly the last gasp of that coalition before the full effect of the southern strategy took hold.

Funny stance. Wonder how much Christianity was lost when Dems were in power. My guess would be zero.
