I hope the military gives him the final nail in the coffin. He has been way too disrespectful towards McCain.
McCain was a good soldier but a shithouse politician.

I agree that disrespect should be punished. But McCain is not a valuable hero in this space.

Won't be though. Not their role. Every flag officer in the military will be happy to stay well clear of this. If it ever came down to it then one of the civilian law enforcement agencies would be responsible for escorting him out.

What’s most likely then:

1. Trump refuses to concede and causes more and more of a stink over the next 2.5 months before having to be physically removed from the White House

2. He immediately fecks off to Mar-a-Lago and basically leaves the office vacant for 2.5 months, never returning to D.C. and not attending the inauguration

3. He resigns, fecks off to Mar-a-Lago leaving President Pence to deal with the fall out for 2.5 months

4. He actually concedes and there’s a peaceful transition

I think he was referring to the military votes that are coming in today

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

1 of those isn't going to happen and the other 3 make him look like (even more of a spiteful, baby tantrums) dickhead.

I'll go 1.

Seems a little unlikely that votes received after election day would cause that much of a swing. 7,788 military votes in Pennsylvania in total in 2016, 5,203 in Georgia, 2,677 in Nevada. In North Carolina there were 6,317 in total last time, by election day there were 9,749 this time. Given how many states require them to have it in by election day anyway, and the regimented nature of the military, it's hard to imagine there being significantly more flowing in for days after. So maybe 50% more votes than last time in total, and if we guessed that 10% of the total came after election day, then you're talking about > 1,000 in Georgia. There's more overseas absentee ballots but no reason to assume they'll fall Trump's direction.

We know 8,900 military and overseas absentee ballots haven't been returned in Georgia so far, but how many were sent out in the first place, or what % are typically taken up? Based on last year's numbers you'd assume it's quite a big number.
@berbatrick

"Overall, only five percent of ballots returned by UOCAVA voters were rejected, most commonly because they were received after state deadlines."

"States reported 344,392 regular absentee ballots returned and submitted for counting by UOCAVA voters for the 2018 midterm election. The total UOCAVA ballot return rate was 53.2 percent."

"By far the most common reason for rejection was that a ballot was received after a state’s deadline for UOCAVA absentee ballot receipt. Missed deadlines were the cause of rejection for 8,945 absentee ballots—46.4 percent of all UOCAVA ballot rejections."

Election Administration and Voting Survey

You'd think that suggests not many votes are sent right on the edge.

My other take is that the Trump legal team has actual evidence of voter fraud (hint: it's from the Trump supporters he encouraged to vote as many times as they can) and they'll try to argue that fraudulent votes (in his favour) should nullify the election result.
Would hardly be surprising (nothing is).

I hope, though, that his game still is to just spout baseless, generic drivel to his "base" about "fraud" and whatnot. Without actually having orchestrated anything more clever and particular.

The base will lap up whatever he spouts. The commies (or aliens, or whatever) rigged it, etc. But with any luck, they will take that as "Donnie's great, was cheated, let's enter pouting mode" rather than "let's enter civil war mode".

Isn't it going to be a bit weird when the US goes back to having normal presidential scandals, like wearing a tan suit or using a selfie stick?

He cared about other human beings. That makes him a better politician than like half of the current senate.

Number 2 for me.

Well I think he'll drag this out in the courts first but he clearly has feck all evidence so he'll be laughed out the courts. Then he'll do option 2.

They said that the military votes would be mixed in with the other votes
Wonder where they lean. I know a couple of officers. One I assume is not a Trump fan at all, the other I have no idea. I know that a lot of people, at least officers, were pretty disgusted by all that talk about using soldiers against protesters this summer. No idea about the lower ranks and privates.

He’s a mid pack self serving conservative.

I’d never rail against someone that fought a valid war for their country. (Not that he did). But he’s a braver person than me. I’d never fight for a patch of dirt.

But we can kill the narrative that he was good for society. He was a right wing conservative and if he implemented the manifesto he ran on, people would have suffered at a far greater rate than the party he ran against.

Respect the dead. But don’t lionise them without exceptional cause.

Have you lost your mind. No way 4 should even be in the options.
