Why are people so excited by a person who is funded by Naral? Naral are an abortion agency that supports abortion up to birth when babies are fully formed. I don't get why anyone would so excited when supported by something so sick.
Trump’s lost. Any chance we could rid redcafe of Trump-style bullshit now he’s gone?

If this's the best USA has to offer, then surely they are the greatest country on earth!!!
America's greatness doesn't usually come from it leaders. It comes more from its exceptional businesses and science/tech advancements.

Biden has won a poisoned chalice, this will be one of the most difficult times to be the US president. There are massive economic problems to handle along with the virus and the division. The good news is that trumps gone

This shit is so disingenuous and boring. Bad stuff happened under the Dems too. They’re all exactly the same! Except they’re not. Obviously.
Wouldn't want to bore you pogue. You can go back to brunch if you want. Sorry for ruining the lib fantasy and showing pictures of what happened the last time Joseph Biden was in power.

When George Constanza said "It's not a lie if you believe it" you were supposed to laugh not accept it as reality.

I guess that’s the best thing about rooting for someone who is completely unelectable. You never get to see your guy brush up against the complicated reality of actually being in charge. Keeps life lovely and simple.

I think the chances are bigger that they'll be in here rubbing in how uninspiring Biden's presidency is and that it's not leftist in any reasonable sense of the word. I mean, I'm happy Trump didn't get reelected, but if you think Biden is going to prove Entropy or Eboue wrong on him, then I 100% expect you to get disappointed.
I don’t think anyone really expects that though. It’s just a giant collective sigh of relief that we don’t have Trump in.

There’s a parallel universe where Trump didn’t get a chance to do any of his malignant feckery of the last four years - including being personally responsible for the death of tens of thousands of Americans - and they’ve been pissing on the chips of anyone who is pleased about Hilary Clinton keeping him out of the White House.

Look, Biden didn't want to put kids in cages but it's a complicated world. Sometimes you just gotta lock up a few kids and give them space blankets to sleep on the floor. You can't make an omelette without deporting more people than any president ever.

Unless you're arguing that Biden is not the least worse option but the absolutely ideal president, how is this any different than your view on the 2020 election? Hilary is a monumental piece of shit and plenty of people deemed her a worse option than Trump based on her record. The last 4 years doesn't make her any better a candidate.

I opened this thread expecting some discussion of who will form Biden’s cabinet, or what will be his approach to the pandemic, economy and other key issues. But no, it’s a load of weird shit about abortions, Iraq and the IRA.

Hilary would have made a better president than Trump. Biden will make a better president than Trump. Fecking nuts that I even need to spell that out but there you go.

So you're doing the very thing you're complaining about.

Biden is shite, Hilary was shite. The fact the Democrats could only muster up those two scumbags in successive elections is an embarrassing disgrace. They've managed to turn facing Donald Trump into one election defeat and now celebrating the prospect of 4 years of getting absolutely nothing passed.

Is anyone expecting much?

We're all happy Trump is gone. But otherwise the energy I'm getting is "the last 4 years was an aberration". I don't think they were. A successful Biden administration recognizes this. But we wait and watch.

Anyway... What is the bare minimum?

1. Strengthening the ACA
2. Nationwide rollout of COVID plan
3. Re-entering the Paris Accords
4. Tougher stance on Rocketman and Putin

What would be great:

1. Passing a strengthened VRA
2. Packing the courts
3. Introducing DC as a state
4. Expanding the federal judiciary
5. Forgiving some student debt
6. Public option

Fecking hell. When did standing against Trump morph into stanning for Biden.

Trump is lying dead in his own waste, can we now judge Biden by Biden's record and Biden's forthcoming actions, instead of giving him A*s across the board for everything and forever as a relative score to Trump.

How much of the bottom list can be done just through executive orders, though? I guess you might be able to get some stuff through if there's a GOPer willing to go along with it, but Collins doesn't even have to worry about re-election anymore. Hopefully Trumpers sit out the run-offs in Georgia in protest.

I would like to start the "Kamala Harris for president campaign" right here

Kill Biden seat Kamala is the motto

who's with me?
Changed it for you.

on a (semi) serious note, what are the chances of Biden dying in the next 4 years?

I’ve nothing to back this up, but it’s got to be a good 20% chance of him snuffing it?

Oh I know and I totally agree. It just seems some people think Biden winning somehow disproves people's opinions that he'll be a poor president Biden beating Trump tells us nothing about President Biden. (Who I hope will surprise me and will really set some (leftist) wheels in motion. However realistic that hope is!)

Hilary would have made a better president than Trump. Biden will make a better president than Trump. Fecking nuts that I even need to spell that out but there you go.
I don't think anyone is denying that though? I think you're going into this too black and white. Trump is the pits, it doesn't get much worse than that. So better than Trump doesn't necessarily mean good; you could think Biden and Hillary Clinton will be/would have been awful presidents and they'd still be miles ahead of Donald fecking Trump.
