I need to change my underwear.
No disrespect to villa, but why the feck have they got 51% possession at old Trafford. We invited pressure why can’t be just have a comfortable win and control the game.
P.s feck the cups. Rest the team please
They came at us a bit which means we can revert to our counter attacking style we prefer

Great game for everyone to watch. Villa fans also would be proud of that performance.

De Gea - As I said in the last game that he is finding his old form and confidence back.

Defence - All were great. AWB with the assist and Baily in God mode.

Midfield. The diamond worked perfectly and to everyones strength. Pogba found space and was also in the mood to move around the field. Would love to see his kms against his previous performances. Only negative was Scott who was terrible and never adjusted to the game. I felt he was at fault for the Villa goal by switching off.

Attack - Rashford is exhausted and should have been rested sooner. I would not want to see him in the next game at all. Martial great poacher goal and is growing in the position.

Ole - spot on with the tactics however Scott should have been subbed sooner and James for Bruno made so sense at the time and could have costed us.

Massive massive 3 points. Was a nervy one, which I've not felt for a long time. Certainly not in the league.

Just here to say I really enjoyed Matic going about fouling everyone after coming on.

Kept disrupting their play in fairly safe areas..

How is it that every time a Villa player felt contact they went down and the ref gave it almost 100% of the time, but on the number of occasions that the contact was more obvious bringing our players down the ref just played on?

The one with Martial at the end completely summed it up.

He gets clearly chopped but no foul then Villa immediately go down soft in the middle of the park and get a nonsense free-kick.

Refs should be embarrassed when they watch stuff like that back.

I (first) now realises what a great team AV is. Many quality players. That’s why I’m even more
Impressed of our team.

What a great match form us! AV gave us competition, but is was a deserved win.

Pogba, Shaw, AWB (except from the goal) and Bailly impressed me today.

Maybe our CB-situation is solved!
They aren’t a great team
Depend a lot on getting Grealish into the game. They are a good side but we are still wasteful in the last third

Positives: Win, Martial finally scores, Bruno's penalty, some good attacking play from both Shaw and AWB, Bailly, Pogba.

Negatives: Rashford, that deflected goal aside, has been very poor for quite some time now. His efforts rarely trouble the goalkeeper and decision-making is subpar. Often found walking around when some urgency could improve our chances of retreiving the ball in our press.

A special mention to one of the softests/daftest goals a team can concede for Villa's equalizer. Horrendous stuff. AWB saying just now it was "a quick one fron Villa" :houllier:

Lucky to win against a good villa side. Stupid goal to concede with multiple trying to stop the free kick instead of marking Grealish. McTominay was a disaster, totally zero quality today. Can't even put in a easy pass. Rushford should be substituted by Greenwood. I see chicken headless James on for the last 10 mins, can't understand why.
What part of that was luck lad? We deserved it. Not to say Villa deserved to lose both teams played really well

So losing the ball at the completely other end with 10 men back is nearly losing the game?
It was a pointless ball. All we had to do was to take it to the corner. Instead they immediately went down the other end and would have equalised if it weren’t for Bailly’s brilliant block.

Pogba was brilliant tonight but there’s no way that moment was anything but naivety. Fortunately it wasn’t punished.

We were much better at fouling! We are crap at it, but we played dirty today.

Great result. Could've ended the game when we had that period in the 2nd half where we were all over them

Epic block by Bailly at the end. Him and Maguire deserve to make a go of a partnership.

Great 3 pts, happy with a win but i am sorry, dont care what anyone says, performance wasnt that great nor it wasnt great when it comes to Ole.

Thats just not good enough from manager PoV. From start of 2nd half you could see it was coming miles away, he didnt react to it, Fred and McT were awful through whole game and whats worse they were bigger danger to their own team than some AV players.

Not first time when it comes to subs and Ole, he just doesnt react, no subs nothing, he just lets the game passes and then they score, which wasnt surprising, luckely we get a pen, score from that and suddenly he can sub McT right after that ( oO ), Fred should be hooked off right after that as well.

Big result. Delighted with the win.
I'd be interested to see that challenge by Minger on Pogba, again. Looked to me like he led with the elbow and intentionally tried to take out Pogba. I might be wrong but he has form for it.
Lucky not to concede a penalty and or get sent off for that, from my first view of it.

Sky licking their lips at the discussion over a penalty decision. Shame Souness isn’t in the studio really.

Massive win played some amazing football at times. The lads look like they're up for a title challenge.
Baily, if he stays fit, has to play, another solid performance from him. MOTM has to be Pogba, he was outstanding and was everywhere today.

The only mistake was that we gifted them the goal, with three players trying to stop a quick freekick, instead of being in their shape and positions.

I have doubted Ole, still do, but we are looking like a team. Should have had Scott off at Halftime though.

What a way to start 2021

Good contest between two sides in good form. A deserved win for United where many of the players produced decent to superb performances. Pogba, Wan Bissaka, Bailly the pick of the bunch in a good team showing.

A little disappointed on the goal conceded, at this level you can't be getting caught out on quickly taken free kick and the United performance deserved more than 2 goals but all that matters was the 3 points to move joint top. A great start to the new year.

Why though? It is not like anyone is going to question them. Especially their darling Oliver who is the next Twattenburg in making, FA would want to project him as the best ref from the country being sent to Europe and big games.
Like Clattenburg, he will come to a game with an agenda and execute it.

Weird game. Felt we played really well in bits and half the team I’d give a rating of 7 at least but there were bits where Villa were a bit too in control.
Large gaps in our midfield, Luiz, McGinn and Grealish were seeing too much of the ball.
Don’t know why McTominay and Fred needed to be so deep. They’re in the team to balance our midfield and they were both poor today overall.

What’s the point of crapping on the club after a truly great result? No, it wasn’t a perfect performance but the positives way outweighs the negatives, no?

Dunno about great but they’re a very good team. We won’t play many better teams this season. What makes this really satisfying is that they weren’t missing anyone important and played very well. It wasn’t a case of them not turning up.

Joint top of the league, creating chances out of our holes, huge 3 points in a tight game against the only other team in the league on good form atm, and you want to post negativity? Absolute madness.
