My Mum has genuinely been lost down the rabbit hole, Floridians

Don't listen to msm is always a strange one because the alternative is to listen to obscure sources that share unbelievable stories.

I get what you mean but it doesn't matter what they do - Trump and his followers will still say that they're victims. If Twitter hadn't banned him this time then Trump would still talk about how social media is a liberal tool out to get him. If he posted a video saying "Kill Libs" his followers would say that he didn't mean what he said. If he responded with "No, I mean literally take a gun and shoot a lib in the face" they would say that nobody is going to do it. Then, a day later, when a video is posted of Don Jr shooting a lib in the face his followers would claim that Jr is secretly a member of Antifa. They're impossible to deal with so you might as well get them to feck right now.
Exactly, there's no reasoning with these people

Exactly. Also see "do your own research". Same as saying "stick your fingers in your ears and close your eyes". These people will decry anything that doesn't pander to their own delusion.

Gulliani trying to make a a buck. I mean didn't he see the presser in front of the porn shop and the landscaping company? Gulliani is taking him for a ride.
The fact is he can't find anyone better than him and Derschowitz . It will be hilarious.

She meant “ you need to stop listening to mum.” Not only is she a twat she also can’t type, though she is, oddly, somewhat self aware.

More commonly translates as "search for specific phrases so that the results you get solely back your assumptions, and nothing else."

Anyone else feel somewhat horrified by the fact these QAnon believers actually exist?

We laugh and we joke but we aren't in a movie. This is real life. Let it sink in that these people in their mind genuinely thought they were doing the right thing. They are so far gone, mentally speaking.

It's a scary thought that in 2021 these kind of people still roam around in Western society.
I can believe it. Remember the religious right movement when Bush was elected who thought dinosaurs and men existed together 5000 yrs ago? Then the Tea Party movement during the late 00s and into the 2010s. Something worse was always going to been there waiting to explode. So here comes Trump and fox and newsmax and fringe conspiracy nuts. Feed that to Mr Uneducated America and there you go. It‘s one thing to be uneducated near a big city like New York where people have common sense. It’s another to be uneducated, poor, racist, in rural America waiting for the 1950s to return. They just don’t understand that other people exist and Happy Days and Leave it to Beaver are not coming back.
I know people from Pennsylvania and even though it’s the next State over fromNJ/NY it may as well be in the Deep South. These people have told me that it is impossible that Trump could have lost since all their neighborhoods have flags with Trump on the front lawns. They also think that QAnon might just be correct in their theories about conspiracies. It’s not going away as long as these people stay uneducated.

These Black Capitol Police Officers Describe Fighting Off "Racist Ass Terrorists"
Two Black officers told BuzzFeed News that their chief and other upper management left them totally unprepared and were nowhere to be found on the day.

“That was a heavily trained group of militia terrorists that attacked us,” said the officer, who has been with the department for more than a decade. “They had radios, we found them, they had two-way communicators and earpieces. They had bear spray. They had flash bangs ... They were prepared. They strategically put two IEDs, pipe bombs in two different locations. These guys were military trained. A lot of them were former military,” the veteran said, referring to two suspected pipe bombs that were found outside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee.

The officer even described coming face to face with police officers from across the country in the mob. He said some of them flashed the badges, telling him to let them through, and trying to explain that this was all part of a movement that was supposed to help.

They set out to pwn libs and got pwned themselves.
Having lived amongst them in AL I can tell you with 100% certainty that the majority of these people have nothing in their lives other than this. They have cut out family who do not believe this. They are likely unemployed. They (ironically) are likely living off welfare. Their friend circle are purely QAnon/Trumpers. They will never be able to consciously accept this loss. The last 4 years of Trump and Graham and Cruz and everyone else have replaced ever fiber of their independent self worth with lies. I don’t think we will ever be able to reach them.

So basically you are saying they are seeking purpose in life? Commendable to some degree. :nervous:

I mean, yeah. Life in poverty, whether in the rural south or urban Los Angeles, sucks. Trump and his ilk do not promise these people a way out. They promise them something more seductive. They promise them a cause for their problems. The blacks/Jews/libs/gays/etc. Those people are the reason they are poor and destitute, and by voting for the Republicans they can ensure, not that they are rescued from their plight, but that they can stick it to the “cause” of their plight. It is depressing talking to these people and hearing them bemoan the costs of food and rent and healthcare, but when you bring up Government programs they tote the “that socialist commy talk”. How do you reach people who have been programmed to see voting for true own benefit as being wrong?

That is scary. Honestly I think removing or censoring is not a good idea.
If Trump incited violence, then charge him. I don’t care for censorship myself. I was raised with, “I don’t agree but I’ll defend your right to speak to the death”.

But what if my speech was “we should kill Beans”?

To be clear we should not kill Beans. Beans is a lovely person.

As someone once said, may you live in interesting times. ;)

It will take a generation to clean up this shit. I blame it on Reagan on stigmatising the (Big) Government and Clinton for corporatising it and GW for legalising the corruption the gov't. And time will tell, Trump for destroying it.
