Absolutely terrific today! If he can stay fit he’s really giving Lindelof a run for his money

The whole team is a lot more confident with him in the team. You can see it in Maguire especially but even the midfield and forwards look more confident knowing if they lose the ball he’s got their back. Please keep starting him Ole.

He loves defending. The kinda guy who would try to head the ball off a strikers foot as they are leathering it

He’s crazy confident and Lindelöf is scared. The difference is big when you compare how good they make other players look.

He was brilliant even with the school of Bailly defending at I think the 53rd moment. Just goes to show what a change in the team a bit of pace at the back can provide. I do love that he just grows everything, full commitment in to his blocks. It’s lovely to see.

He's absolutely fearless and reads the game so well. Yet another couple of vital blocks tonight.

Again, best CB we have. Stay fit and Maguire/Bailly is up there with best in the league.

Brilliant again. The defence always looks so much more confident with him there. Realised he seems to have finally sorted that tortoise jumping habit too.

Hopefully the "you never know which Bailly you're going to get" line is given a rest for a bit.

needs to do it for a big longer. But, yes I hope so too. Maguire/ Bailly is proving to be an excellent partnership. On paper it always looked like it should work.

Outstanding again tonight. A number of superb blocks that no other United defenders would have made and Maguire plays better alongside him. Touch wood he can stay fit.

He's the closest thing to Nemanja Vidic we have. When he's available and fit he's simply colossal.

Always said he’s too much of a loose cannon. I think he’s the key to our success right now though. He’s been colossal for us recently.

I remember back in 2016 how high Bailly allowed our defence to push up, well I say I remember it I'd actually forgotten but seeing it now has made me remember it. Whether it's Bailly or his clone that can stay fit we need this in the seasons to come

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
His (and AWB's) lack of aerial ability was targeted a bit in the first half and it created a few dangerous situations. I'm not sure why Burnley seemed to completely go away from that in the second half, but I guess it was more about us playing well enough that they stopped getting in positions to do it. He did play well other than that but I do worry a bit about that aerial weakness.

Looking over my shoulder.
A massive difference between Bailly and Lindelif is that with a through ball, every attacker gives up the foot race against Bailly. With Lindelif they follow through, win the race or worst case scenario they get a throw in high up the pitch.

Also, a colossal performance

I think he’s playing his best football. He’s getting a run together. Each game he plays, I ask myself if this game is the game where he gets injured or makes a mistake. It’s not coming and each game he plays, he’s looking even more like a beast. What a player when fit. Transforms his CB partner. We look good even when we don’t look good. We win even when we don’t play well and that is the hallmarks of a great team. Bailly has been a monument at the back.

How in the blue hell did he not end up on the floor writhing in pain.

Out of all matches, this is the only one where we don't get a Bailly special. I even had a bet going.

Love watching him, even if sometimes it's with one eye covered. If he stays fit, I reckon he will be our first choice centre half by the end of the season.

Maguire's cleaner.

I love his assertive he is. He tries to move the attacker where he wants him to go rather than constantly backpedaling like Lindelof.

He's fantastic - he's hit form (and fitness) at a time we've really needed him. That game was definitely the type of game where we'd normally get dominated with Lindelof at the back.

As long as he controls his wacky moments, he's a hell of a defender. Admittedly I gave up on him because of his unreliability with being fit - I hope he can just play a long stretch of games now.

He can very well be a reason to not splash out £60+million on a center back this Summer.

Liking the Bailly and Maguire partnership - Perhaps the most important player behind Bruno right now - He's transforming our defence.

Stays injury free and I don't think we'd need to purchase a CB - Let Tuanzebe develop and Lindelof is a decent backup for Maguire.

Happy to see all this praise going his way, always said myself that he's quality, just been unfortunate with injuries.

Save for the brain farts and average aerial ability.

He has been excellent and makes Maguire look better, so hopefully can iron the kinks out of his game.

This aerial ability thing seems very hyperbolic....I didn't see Burnley get any change out of him in the air today...If you can dominate Burnely aerially then you're not average in the air.

I'm more confident we get a result with Eric in the side.
Maguire and Eric partnership is shades of Rio and Vidic.
