I'd have said the same regardless. If we presume Liverpool win their next game we need to win out next one to show that we're not giving anything up without a fight. Rolling over right after a game like that just makes you look soft.
But still start midweek 3 points ahead rather than level. It can't possibly be 'pointless'

Not going to be easy this.

    De Gea

No need for McFred doing one mans job here. Get Matic in & go for the throat. Rest Bruno & Rashford, been poor & look knackered.

    DDG
AWB Lindelof or Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matic
    Donny Pogba
    Mata Cavani Martial

    Technical ability.

Liverpool next Sunday, I'm ok with rotating Shaw/Bruno/Rashford here.
That's more than enough for Fulham you feel. The only problem is Greenwood seems to be out of favour right now and VDB was never in favour to begin with, which most likely means Rashford and Bruno starting again although both are in dire need of a rest.

Ole is clearly not a fan of rotation, at least not of his current favourites Rashford and Bruno.

Bruno, Rashford and Martial should all come out.

    DDG

    Wan
    Maguire
    Bailly
    Shaw

    Matic
    Pogba
    Beek

    James
    Cavani
    Greenwood

The side needs a change of dynamic as the attack has been stale for a while now.

Never understand this. If we lost today they overtook us. How could that be pointless regardless of midweek result? Would losing today have guaranteed a win mid week? Or a draw midweek guaranteed a win today?
    This...I concur

    AWB - Bailly - Maguire - Telles
    Matic - Pogba
    Greenwood - Bruno - Martial

    Rashford needs benching.
Personally I'd play VdB in CM alongside Matic and push Pogba higher up the pitch and rest Bruno.

    Agree with the rest.

    Wan Bissaka
    Bailly
    Maguire
    Telles

    Pogba

    Greenwood

Debut for Diallo from the bench!

This looks to be a tougher proposition than it did a couple of months ago, Parker has got them looking decent. That said they are without a couple of starters and nothing but a victory will be good enough from our point of view.

Prioritising this over the FA Cup? Possibly. Bruno needs another rest in one of these two games. Rashford needs dropping.

VDB for Bruno who's looked knackered. We really need to rest him.
Yeah think this could be just the game to give Donny some useful minutes before the cup tie with the Scousers next Sun. I would like to say we could leave Bruno on the bench for this but think that is too risky.

Agree with most on here, Rashford needs dropped 100%, he's so out of form right now and i think it's time Greenwood is given a fair run, i would also not be shocked to see James start too,

    DDG
    AWB Bailly Maguire Telles
    Matic
    DVB Pogba
    Mason Cavani Martial

Think that team is good enough to take all 3 again Fulham.

A game for the Matic-Pogba midfield duo. Rashford needs benching and Bruno needs a rest, but they’re both in my FPL team, so what I said is null and void :D Rest them in the cup game because the FA Cup is something we should just forget about this season. Be for the greater good if we do. Martial though, he really needs benching.

    DDG
    AWB Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Matic
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Cavani

    Prediction: 0-2 United
    Agree with this.

Just need someone from our front 4 to start scoring again, they all look in poor form.

He was rested against Watford and has then played a game every 5 days or so since then. He did not play well, it’s that simple I think.

They have been very good based on performance lately despite of not winning matches but we have zero reason not to win this match, we have better quality, more & better depth.

Another vital one here. Berties win their game in hand and it’s one point ahead.

Boy this is going to be close

De Gea; AWB, Bailly, Maguire, Telles; Pogba, Matic; Greenwood, VdB, Martial; Cavani

Ole, please, leave Bruno and Marcus on the bench. They look knackered and are playing fecking awful (compared to their usual standards).
We should beat this Fulham team w/o them and it'd be interesting to see VdB with other top players and not MAta, James, Lingard etc (with all due respect).

Liverpool WLL rotate heavily and therefore we should rest 4-5 in that game. If we rest the likes of Rashford, Bruno, Shaw, Lindelof, De Gea, Fred v's a weakened Liverpool team, then we should go full whack v's Fulham and secure the points.

Fulham have improved a bit lately, I think. That doesn't change the fact that we should annihilate them.

Rest Rashford and Martial. Start Greenwood and Cavani. Start DVB as well, and give Bruno 60 minutes of rest. Put him on if we need to produce some magic to push the game across the line

Some oddly disrespectful team selections on here. Fulham are no pushovers at all.
They taken a point vs Spurs and Liverpool.

Should have got a draw vs Chelsea or possibly more if the ref didn’t buy Azpilicueta screaming. Beaten Leicester away.

These are the games they seem to do play better in.

Annihilation only occurs in fantasy football world.

They are fighting for PL survival. If we want to win we, we need to match that desire. Burnley showed that we can compete physically but Fulham have pace everywhere.

Their big issue is not having a real goalscorer

I’ve been impressed with Fulham v Chelsea and Spurs. They really pass the ball around well and we could struggle to get any control over the game. I still expect a win but it will not be easy at all.

Fulham have looked good recently but they're without BDR and Robinson. Probably two of their best players apart from Anguissa.

    I'd go with:

    de Gea
    AWB - Bailly - Maguire - Telles
    Pogba - Matic
    Greenwood - VDB - James
    Cavani

From a fantasy football perspective I’d like Rashford and Bruno to play this, but in truth, they need a rest and it’s probably best they start from the bench here.

Fulham are no mugs and they have shown over the past month or so that they can play some good football.

Hopefully we can grind out a win here to keep the pressure on the chasing pack.

Must win, 10x more important than the cup game.

    DDG
    AWB Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matic Pogba
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Cavani

Telles in for Shaw would be acceptable for crosses into Cavani. Would be nice to win a game early on for once but would take a scrappy 1-0.

Dropping Bruno here would be madness. We'll see a lot of the ball and need both him and pogba playing to unlock the door. if they really sit back we can bring on Mata for more creativity. Cavani must start.
