Arguing with another member
All of your last five-six posts have been continously abusing me. You genuinely should calm down.
Mate, this thread has historically been horrific to frequent as an Aussie fan, starting years ago when I first emerged and you were here chirping. There’s you, and one other prick, and you clearly both hold some resentment towards Australians/the Australian cricket team. It’s disgusting, but eh, I don’t mind a tussle online. That’s on me, but you surely can be less of a prick online.

A big reason beating Aus is so much fun is because they have been the team to beat for so long. It's, what I would imagine, fans of other clubs feel when they beat United.

Also, they arent the best losers, so its more enjoyable.

Well done India, the team depleted by injuries and Kohli having to go home. The new players stepped up when thrown in the deep end and they handled all of the pressure of test match cricket very well. Rahane probably wondering what’s so difficult about this captaincy lark.

I don't need to defend myself, I'm passionate about the team but I don't have any resentment towards Australians(what a strange thing to say!) but yes there's some shitblokes in this Australian cricket team.

Just hope Pujara's contribution to the chase is appreciated more. He tired the shit out of their bowlers
I'm not his biggest fan, far from it, but he's been glorious over the last 2 games. Ground down and sapped the motivation of the bowlers.

Love to hear Paine getting booed, might get him to shut the feck up for once.
But still being appreciated by his teammates, I guess? :)

Wowee as Ricky Ponting would say. One of the great series wins in the history of the game and a great moment for the less celebrated figures of Indian cricket. Wonderful leadership by Rahane and by Pujara as a batsman (you really can't underestimate how him just being him creates calm in the rest of what the team does). Also made up for Pant, he's such a special cricketer and I hope India now realise that and stop dicking him around.

Pant should be a regular in all three formats.
Already better than Dhoni in tests.

Tbf, to beat Australia at full strength would've been amazing. To beat this C team is literally incredible.

Yeah, your passion manifests in horrible ways, like I said. Where’s the grace? I might not have assumed the worst if you weren’t such an asshole to converse with in here every single time. I do truly hope I’m wrong re resentment, I just really doubt I am.

My sport watching life has peaked. What a moment. 15 years of watching test cricket. Nothing like this. There is a few here who’ve been watching as long or longer and posting, would know what it feels like.
Absolutely- from days of Sachin waging a lone battle against Aussies with suspect umpires in early 2000, India failing to achieve 120 target in Windies, white washes in Oz/Eng, 1-1 test series draw in Zimbabwe, Chennai heartbreak against Pak and the assumed white washes for Eng/Oz away series to this ...

Also the irony of the last series being caveated by the absence of Smith and Warner only for India to turn around and do this is very, very funny.

Pant has the most runs here for any Indian wicketkeeper

He looks to be a very special talent.

Genuinely think this is better than the world cup. Incredible. My head is buzzing.

Wow I went to sleep with India needing over 250 to win but I never thought they’d actually do it! Warnie must have self combusted by the end the way he was slamming Lyon’s tactics. Big congrats to Pujara for his courage under that barrage from the quicks, Gill, Pant and Rahane. The bowlers weren’t too shabby either under the circumstances! Better luck next time Aussies, thanks for a great competitive tour!

Tbf this team or the last few Australian teams are absolute average compared to the team India beat in 2003 or the one they beat in 2007. That was the team to beat with all their sledging and cheating. I recently watched the highlights of the 2007 SCG test match and my god, it made my blood boil. It just reminded me of why a lot of people hated the Aussies and still do. Absolute cnuts. But this team doesn't have that fear factor.

Shastri and Kohli have fecked him around for so much time. Should've been a regular.

Pant and Kuldeep are both generational talents. Hope Kuldeep finds another way.

Wow a bunch of young Indians without their best two cricketers beat the best team that Aus can field in Aus, must be an embarrassment for that country. Long way from the mid 2000s although the current Indian team is probably more balanced now in such conditions.

Is Kuldeep the left arm wrist spinner or am I getting confused?

Can't say this India win in Aus is a gimmick either, Smith and Warner both here for this final test especially.

Yeah.. This Aus side isnt as scary.. and they arent very good at sledging.. which I imagine is hard to pull off unless you are actually good.

But everyone who saw that Aus side will enjoy beating Aus for a long time.. Its like I love us beating Arsenal.. because I remember the rivalry from the late 90s.. They have been shit for 15 years.. but it doesnt matter.

For the sake of Indias young players coming through, the BCCI needs to stop bending over for Kohlis will. It was worth it a few years ago, but they now need to look forward. That's not to say they should drop him, but they need to be willing to upset him more often and limit his role as captain to the field itself.

Btw, strongly disagree with anyone who's saying this is a weak aussie team.

Weakpoints are Paine, Wade and Starc has been horrendous. Green and Puckovski are good talents. Paine is genuinely a shit captain and wicketkeeper.

Rahane said they picked Washington to add balance to the batting. Unfortunate Kuldeep missed out.

Hugely competitive nation and India have been rather easy losers for so long. Bit like Leeds, apparently playing the right way but losing. Haha

They don’t like it when we’ve roared back!

Cummins 21 wickets at 20.04, Strike rate of 46
Hazlewood 17 wickets at 19.35, Strike rate of 51
Starc 11 wickets at 42, Strike rate of 75
Lyon 9 wickets at 55, strike rate of 124.

Lyon and Starc better be shouting the beers.

Yeah amazing win, hope all the India fans on here enjoy it. As the poster says, great to see Pant blossoming.

Does Rahane keep the captaincy now? He's just claimed probably the best test win in the history of Indian sport after all.

Surely Paine has to resign as Australia captain now.

Can't say I know who the alternatives are but as an England fan I'd be quite pleased if Lyon is still in the team at the end of the year.
