Joe Biden and the Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer and Bernie Sanders have come out with a plan to increase the minimum wage to 15 dollars, but only by 2025, which is pathetically slow. The $15.00 minimum wage is too low right now, and will definitely be in four years. It will also be attacked by the GOP regardless, meaning the wage increase may be even slower. Rashida Tlaib is right: 15 needs to come sooner
Good luck in the midterms.

2025 when another administration can torpedo it. Democrats are hopeless.

Good luck in the midterms.
So my take on this based on an analysis I heard on Pod Save America.

This proposal is a straw dummy. They will propose it, and republicans will refuse to support it, denying it being passed into law. This will give the Dems cover to insert it into the budget reconciliation bill that only needs 51 votes to pass. the $15 min wage was the one policy that analysts are saying will have the hardest time being considered legal to be included. The fact that Bernie is involved makes me think this is not as cut and dry as it seems.

Pelosi drops $1,000,000 on new Tesla shares, days before the Biden administration announce their plans to replace the entire government fleet (of almost 650,000 vechicles) with electric cars that are made in America.

Eyebrows have been raised over Nancy Pelosi now having a heavy financial interest in Tesla's success - especially as she's poised to play a decisive role in passing green initiatives that stand to drive up the profits of the automaker in a significant way.

Why wouldn't I? She has a history of being linked to shady insider trading and this is another possible example to add to the list.

As AOC said earlier this year, members of Congress should not be allowed to own individual stocks.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Friday that members of Congress should not be allowed to own individual stock following reports that multiple senators had sold off hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stocks before Wall Street collapsed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are here to serve the public, not to profiteer. It’s shocking that it’s even been allowed up to this point,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

You’ll have to excuse Eboue, he’s one of the most ardent Pelosi supporters on the whole of the interwebs.

Wait Pelosi is not an altruistic samaritan? I thought she just looked like an evil soulless corporate shrew. Who knew..

It didn't really take insider knowledge to know that the market was going to dive because of corona.

Sanders has already repeatedly stated publicly that he will do what scumbag mcconnell has repeatedly done in the past to push bills through budget reconciliation.

This was over a month before Biden announced those plans right? Hardly comparable to the investments in PPE suppliers on the day of congress' private covid briefing, but yeh still daft goverment officials are allowed to play the markets like this.

Can someone on here explain the significance of Biden‘s order to end private prison contracts? Would that end the whole business model as such?

How effective are exec order when the next president can annul stuff at his leisure
Some of Trumps EOs were very effective for 4 years and did a lot of damage.

Hopefully some of Biden’s EOs can do the opposite and Congress can pass the best of them into lasting law.

If a guy stay in office for 8 years then they are very effective. If not, then the next guy can undo them 4 years later, which is why its better to rely on proper laws passed by Congress than too many executive orders.

Checks tweet, holds up fingers to count...30 "days before"...sure there's another term for that.

I mean, back in December, who else could have heard about this hitherto unknown 'Tesla' company?

If it turns out she had some meeting back on December 21st where this was rumoured to be a policy than by all means go after her. But if you ain't got that maybe don't try to fabricate a story because, well to be honest I don't know, a strange deperate need to show that everyone is awful?

And often it’s a good job they can when following a president like Trump.

better to have good things than bad even temporarily, although this is also why progressive legislation is needed
