Hope the fecker gets a lengthy ban and is chinned by a Utd supporter somewhere. Mocking people who died in an aeroplane crash is the lowest level even for the scum of this planet.
I just genuinely cannot believe a senior City player would do it.No facts?
Did he not post a tweet icluding aeroplanes, explosions and laughter?
I know you like to take the "opposite" angle on this forum, but it's a real stretch to say it's a coincidence.
He's stayed in Manchester and hence would know the significance unless he's an utter tool. Not ruling out the possibility of it being unconnected (footballers can live in their own bubble) but to claim that you have "No idea" why Manchester United fans would find a Manchester City player posting that connected considering it was posted on that day, is really weird. If you believe the entire world revolves around you and everyone knows what 6th of February signifies then fine believe that he was mocking Munich.
If you want to try to look at some context from the picture posted of him playing football and doing an airplane celebration, then you'll see that it is not mocking anything and throw away any outrage..
Thank you! This thread is an absolute embarrassment. Of course he didn’t mean it ffs. It’s just a really unfortunate coincidence.
I didn’t even realise it was the Munich anniversary until I turned on Sky before the match started. But apparently some Brazilian who (to memory) has absolute no controversy to his name just decided to publicly post a horrendously unsubtle dig referencing a plane clash and risked huge repercussions because, well, why not.
Desperate to play the victim. Boring
And the explosion emoji? If you believe the entire world revolves around you and everyone knows what 6th of February signifies then fine believe that he was mocking Munich.

As I said, I don't think he would even know what 6th of February means for United.
anything is possible. He could’ve been under influence for all we know. But unless this is proven to be true I’ll hold my horsesNo professional footballer is stupid enough to tweet something so malicious knowing the consequences could be a lifetime ban from the game.
We have to believe that.
He’s played in Manchester for how many years? How many times has he done a moment of silence for it? Laughing and explosions, he deserves a ban.If you believe the entire world revolves around you and everyone knows what 6th of February signifies then fine believe that he was mocking Munich.

Agreed on both counts, although I think he should be banned from the game completely. The trouble is proving intent in this situation is next to impossible so...At best (if accidental) its a 3 game ban for being stupid on social media, if its intentional he should be sacked, no ifs or buts, out the door. Frank Swift died in that tragedy too so if its a dig at United (a sackable offence alone) its also a dig at City.
This is someone living in Manchester for 8 (or so) years. Playing for a club that honours the tragedy annualy. I know people tend to be ignorant, but in this situation, not realizing what the date means is entirely on him.
That hardly means that when he hears "February 6" he thinks "ah, Munich". I'll be shocked if he does. He’s played in Manchester for how many years? How many times has he done a moment of silence for it? Laughing and explosions, he deserves a ban.
Hmmm...looks like an unfortunate coincidence on the face of it, but that explosion emoji??? I'd love to hear his explanation. Beyond disgusting if indeed he or his team meant that.
Because there’s two pics. One where he’s jumping up for a big header hence the exploding emoji for a ‘boom’ type effect, and another where’s he laughing and celebrating doing a plane type motion hence, the plane emoji. If it was just the picture with the celebration, I'd call it a coincidence. Coupled with a plane, an explosion and a laughing emoji it seems ... suspicious. Although it would surprise me if Fernandinho gave the Munich disaster much thought.
I’m totally with you on this. I mean his PR team probably need to have a look at themselves, but I wouldn’t be looking at the player in the slightest.
Again, find one of the plane and explosion though
I totally get that people are reacting, and if it turned out to be a Munich reference then it wouldn't be the craziest thing a footballer has done, but those asking what the emojies could possibly mean if not Munich? That's bizarre to me, it's really straight forward.Because there’s two pics. One where he’s jumping up for a big header hence the exploding emoji for a ‘boom’ type effect, and another where’s he laughing and celebrating doing a plane type motion hence, the plane emoji.
It’s not that deep
Not really despite being an absolute shit house on the pitch, he's seen as a good example to the youngsters, never does anything unprofessional or steps out of line off the pitch. For the most part seen as the ultimate role model at the club. The definition of one of those players who becomes a cnut soon as the game starts but leaves everything in the game. That said even if its Cavani like ignorance as oppossed to ulterior motives its still a massive clanger. I'd expect the FA to follow up, if it was a PR team, I'd expect them fired.Agreed on both counts, although I think he should be banned from the game completely. The trouble is proving intent in this situation is next to impossible so...
Does he come across as someone capable of doing something like from what you've seen of him? I only ask because I know very little about the guy off the pitch.
Find one of him using a bullseye again then.Again, find one of the plane and explosion though
Can the fa fine a social media team? Not really despite being an absolute shit house on the pitch, he's seen as a good example to the youngsters, never does anything unprofessional or steps out of line off the pitch. Has he literally ever used an airplane emoji before, or done an airplane celebration? It might not even be Fernandinho writing his tweets just one of the bluemooners who thought he'd be "subtle" and get away with it. Either way, Cavani got a 3 game ban for less so fairs fair. This thread is an absolute embarrassment. Of course he didn’t mean it ffs. It’s just a really unfortunate coincidence.

I have no idea which emojis he uses frequently or not.Has he literally ever used an airplane emoji before, or done an airplane celebration? I struggle to believe a person trained in public relations would be so absent-minded as to post such a tweet, especially given what day it was. It's their job to be in the know. Not really despite being an absolute shit house on the pitch, he's seen as a good example to the youngsters, never does anything unprofessional or steps out of line off the pitch. I don't care.I have no idea which emojis he uses frequently or not.
But his accounts are clearly ran by a social media team. The only way this could be intentional is if like you said the writer of Fernandinho’s posts saw the picture of him doing that celebration in training and thought he could throw a dig to Munich in there... knowing full well he’s risking his job, Fernandinho’s reputation and not to mention his own. Seems unlikely
Thats my thinking, either way his account and a ban should be incoming.I struggle to believe a person trained in public relations would be so absent-minded as to post such a tweet, especially given what day it was. It's their job to be in the know.
It has to have come from the player, surely
It’s like an alternative reality in this thread. Also if you look at his Twitter feed it’s all generic PR footballing and social positive tweets, there’s literally nothing offensive ever at all on there.Because there’s two pics. One where he’s jumping up for a big header hence the exploding emoji for a ‘boom’ type effect, and another where’s he laughing and celebrating doing a plane type motion hence, the plane emoji.

A ban for what exactly?Thats my thinking, either way his account and a ban should be incoming.
Can we arrange a meeting? I’ve got a fantastic business opportunity for you.Because there’s two pics. One where he’s jumping up for a big header hence the exploding emoji for a ‘boom’ type effect, and another where’s he laughing and celebrating doing a plane type motion hence, the plane emoji.

Like when I hear September 11th as an American, doubt I would remember the twin towers being blown up! Shocked if I do! I hope my sarcasm bleeds through here man. That hardly means that when he hears "February 6" he thinks "ah, Munich". I'll be shocked if he does.
Sensible post. As opposed to our fans calling this thread an embarrassment. At best (if accidental) its a 3 game ban for being stupid on social media, if its intentional he should be sacked, no ifs or buts, out the door. Do you think he doesn't know, the date? Hes played in Manchester long enough. And I'm sure there was an ex City player on that plane as a journalist, so there bound to know, unless we give him the benefit of the doubt, as hes a Brazilian and didn't know, I'd agree with that if that's what he comes out and says. This thread is an absolute embarrassment. Of course he didn’t mean it ffs. It’s just a really unfortunate coincidence.

Not if they don't tell him; and it is likely that they don't inform him of all social media matters. PR is usually handled by the club. How would he know if they posted it before he saw it?A player is responsible for what his supposed PR team puts out from his own verified handle. And even if it was ignorance rather than genuine intent, it's provocative and inflammatory, and should not be tolerated imo.
That's his problem. If you allow someone to act on your behalf you better make sure you trust them to be responsible. Not if they don't tell him; and it is likely that they don't inform him of all social media matters.
