Because we're in a very tight top four race and if we miss it but win an FA cup, that will be highly disappointing when you factor in how weak our rivals have been and how injury free we are (so far).

City aren't crowned champions in Feb as well, if we stop dropping ridiculous points like SHU we should be close enough come May - I'd rather we finished with 10 points of them and won nothing rather than won an FA cup and the gap was massive again, the latter would just confirm we aren't really going anywhere and will be an echo of the LVG/Mou years where fans give up hope of actually improving a team and want to just throw money at the problem - we need Halaand, we need Sancho, we need Upamecamo etc.
No disrespect but this is a loser mentality. We are certainly not in a postion to be throwig away any chances of silverware when the club has won nothing for 4 years and has bottled 4 consecutive semi finals. Last season top 4 only would have been acceptable due to a weaker squad. The squad has been strengthened this season so nothing less than top 4 and a trophy should be accepted

Got a bad feeling about this one.
Although, saying that, the BBC are wanking Moyes off so hopefully that's gonna backfire on them.

How many allowed on the bench for FA-Cup games?
Is Amad in risk on beeing left out? Cant see anyone else (bar Williams maybe) who Ole would put on the stands.
    9. Same as Premier League, so all those listed will be involved tonight either starting or on the bench.

I actually think Williams might be given a start. We need to rest AWB. I'd also rest Fred and McTominay now that Pogba is out for a while. Time to try VDB in that role.

We've not won a trophy in 4 years. What do you want to rest players for, the West Brom game 5 days away??

That’s the worse thing about the BBC, it wouldn’t matter if we won 10-0 they’d be cnuting us off and please don’t let Martin cro-magnon Keown be commentating it’s embarrassing.

Diallo is a great talent but I would be a little worried if the lad came up against some battered centre back that would kick the s*** out of him as he is slight in build. We should win this one given a fair wind and a decent Ref.

    Or Jermaine 'Trent Trent' Jenas.

I do like the 7.30pm kick off time though, plenty of time to get back to bingewatching on NetFlix afterwards...if no extra time and penalties.

'Fellaini" is back isn't he? I mean his suspension has been overturned . He is going to cause us problems.

The hys threads are the worst. Fans are pretty much allowed to say what they like about United, a lot of it quite vile. But any post questioning Liverpool is immediately removed by the mods.

Each to their own. I agree minimum this season is top for but you can't assume that's a given - FA cup is great as an extra but I don't see it as being a major honour. Maybe that's because the League cup is so pointless and it dilutes the FA cup's importance, I'm not sure.

Let's say we beat WHUM tonight and then drop points against WBA - on papaer we should smash them but you just never know. I think maintaining bit of a cushion on the top four race, keeping players fresh and fit is way more important than trying to get through to the next round of the FA cup. Just my opinion, I completely understand yours.

You never know rhat you will get with this team they can be wasteful in attack and brittle in defense. One thing for sure it will be a stressful watch.

It will be interesting to see what changes Ole makes, particularly at the back. If we defend as we did against Everton, we could easily be knocked out. West Ham are going well and won't be afraid. Personally, I would like to see Ole send a message by dropping De Gea, Maguire and Lindelof. Nobody should be an automatic pick.

Agree. West Ham won’t be easy even if we do go full strength. I’d give VdB a chance though, and if he plays well, get him in for WBA too.

    AWB Bailly Maguire Shaw
    VdB Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford

I'd love to see Donny given a chance, but I think Ole will go with his trusted physical double pivot against Soucek & Rice. But we'll find out soon enough.

If he's supposed to replace Pogba, and Pogba is out for up to 6 games, it's be nice to play him into some form over next three games

To get the likes of VDB up to speed and give youngsters much needed game time. You have to find games for these lads, we've lost our way with that since Fergie.
