is it a foul if you tackle an opponent, with the ball 2 meters away?
Who gives a feckNext up, was Massing’s challenge really a foul on Canigga.

Bailly being a bad influence on Lindelof alreadyI still have no idea why Lindelof thought he could do that, utterly brainless.
Nobody was tackled in fairnessis it a foul if you tackle an opponent, with the ball 2 meters away?
Was Keane’s tackle on Haaland even a foul? The ball was there to be won.Next up, was Massing’s challenge really a foul on Canigga.
2 Eyes on the ball and the defender has zero eyes on the ballLindelof has launched himself leading with the knee and head behind, because he jumped too early at best. The ball isnt arriving yet and he's still going straight into the opponent's head with the knee. This is not the exact moment of contact, its the moment that the knee into the face is 100% happening because Lindelof has decided to leap leading with his knee. The actual contact would be slightly after
He committed another foul for being too eager to head the ball in the 1st half but this one was just needless and over the top.I think the giant leap comes from Lindelof having read or heard he's not aggressive enough as a defender. Luckily, the defender did not suffer injury. This is not to say it was anything but an accident.
Yeh. Just a player got kneed on the face.Nobody was tackled in fairness
Because somebody went up for a header with 2 eyes on the ball. Not quite the same.Yeh. Just a player got kneed on the face.
The angle from 1:01. Defender has his eyes on the ball the whole time until Lindelof is on top of him.Tuanzebe scores - Var - no goal foul from Lindeloff
Tiger knee was a bastard of a move to pull off too.Victor Sagat Lindelof
Defender almost had 0 eyes period after that dangerous play. The defender is looking at the ball coming in from the cross, decides he wont get there with a leap, turns to face the players attacking the ball just as my screenshot is taken. He's 100% got his eyes on the ball until hes about to get whacked when he gets a split second to see Lindelof flying2 Eyes on the ball and the defender has zero eyes on the ball
Having eyes on the ball isn’t a free card to knew someone in the head for not paying full attention.2 Eyes on the ball and the defender has zero eyes on the ball
Defender almost had 0 eyes period after that
Did Nani deserve to be sent off against Madrid?Next up, was Massing’s challenge really a foul on Canigga.
Meh not really! The ball landed on Tuanzebes head who was just behind lindelof and Tuanzebe didn't need to jump really. That's just how it dipped. Lindelof was a foot or so away from it, which is way off considering he never jumped higher in his life... But in general it wasn't far from being a fair goal imo.You are simultaneously implying that the ball was close enough to the defender that he was only "lucky it dipped just past him", while conceding that Lindelof who was almost twice his height high in the air was way under the ball.
That's called mental gymnastics sir.
that’s not how the law works. For me it's not intentional and it's not relevant to the actual goal so I wouldn't have given it as a foul but Lindelof
It was a knee away to be fair.Meh not really! The ball landed on Tuanzebes head who was just behind lindelof and Tuanzebe didn't need to jump really. That's just how it dipped. Would be his own fault too - what did he have his eyes on? Didn’t defend himself or see the ball.Defender almost had 0 eyes period after that dangerous play. No, Nani, without the Madrid player rushing in, Nani is bringing that ball under control.Did Nani deserve to be sent off against Madrid?
I don’t think it’s boxing.Would be his own fault too - what did he have his eyes on? Didn’t defend himself or see the ball.
So he should ignore a flying knee coming at him that he senses at the last split second and keep his eyes on the ball he's not going to reach?Would be his own fault too - what did he have his eyes on? Didn’t defend himself or see the ball.
Having eyes on the ball isn’t a free card to knew someone in the head for not paying full attention.
I thought we all knew this?
Although I do like the idea it’s be a different sport entirely.
id look at one of the 2, yes.So he should ignore a flying knee coming at him that he senses at the last split second and keep his eyes on the ball he's not going to reach?
I guarantee you would look
Good one?I don’t think it’s boxing.
That's hard to prove. The defender was right in front of him the whole time, and barely moving.Because somebody went up for a header with 2 eyes on the ball. Not quite the same.
Straight out of the Streets of Rage playbook.
I see nothing untoward there...just a dude getting kneed in the face.
Since when is anyone supposed to ”protect themselves” in football?Good one?
Let's even leave the argument that he should not have to jump simply to avoid a foul. The way Lindelfo goes in, that knee is still connecting with some part of his body, most likely his midriff unless he does exactly what Lindelof did, in which case we wouldn't be watching a game of football any more.Would be his own fault too - what did he have his eyes on? Didn’t defend himself or see the ball.
First of all I’d have eyes on the ball and jump with who I’m marking.Since when is anyone supposed to ”protect themselves” in football?
Most of the horror tackles we see have 2 eyes on the ball in fairness and miss timed.Because somebody went up for a header with 2 eyes on the ball. Not quite the same.
No we’d be watching gladiators, apparently. Barbaric.Let's even leave the argument that he should not have to jump simply to avoid a foul. The way Lindelfo goes in, that knee is still connecting with some part of his body, most likely his midriff unless he does exactly what Lindelof did, in which case we wouldn't be watching a game of football any more.
I was always taught it as a defender on corners in school.Since when is anyone supposed to ”protect themselves” in football?
