Good result but every game right now just says to me what this team needs as much as anything is a quality midfield playmaker. Mount was very good in that role for Chelsea.
Mount basically plays as one of the front three. He wouldn't replace Bruno.

We need someone like Pogba on the pitch AND ideally a quality CF. Cavani and Pogba would have been huge in this game, which is slightly worrying because we can't expect either to be part of our team going forward.

We had a 10 - 15 minute spell in that second half but that half involved Chelsea having the majority of the ball while we sat back.

We had a good 10 minute spell in a poor first half.

Large parts, my arse.
played a full 70 minutes with no intention to win, my arse

Because we have scored more goals in total, lost fewer games and have more points on the board?

nah can’t be that.
Nine of them were in one match. Ole has to be brave against the other opponents in the Top 6. If he keeps being cautious it will be why we will not win anything. Hopefully we will get Top 4, but that will only be good if we then put our deficiencies right in the summer.

I thought we were promised something different when Jose went. Ole is basically utilising the same tactics and won't even take risks with a 4-0 lead against an average team. It's cowardly and not what we're about.
There it is “cowardly”

I think the right assessment would be that we played to win in the sense that our tactics were no different to when we went to SB and beat them last season, but that we settled for a draw.

It's OK to say we are making progress as we are 2nd. But if we have a shite transfer window this Summer and do not address the problems in our defence and attack then we will go backwards again next season.
That's pretty much the same for every team. You always have to do well in the window to progress.

I think the caf has gone mad.. its moaning for the sake of moaning.

If we had Cavani and Pogba on the bench and we kept James and Fred/McT on, I would understand the complaints about being too defensive.. what the feck were we supposed to do? Go kamakazi all out attacking against a side in good form just to please some idiots on the interwebs ?

If you want to win why do you keep James on instead of Greenwood? Answer is to not lose cuz James does his defensive work better.
It's more likely because you expect James to be able to get in behind when they have tired legs.

Tuchel baffled why the incident was even checked because apparently Greenwood handled it!

Bottle job from the interviewer not pointing out HIS man handled it!

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
I thought we were quite good in the first half, we controlled the tempo of the match and our failure to capitalise on that was more on the final ball or movement from our attacking players. Second half we lost control though and it looked more like some of our other games against the top teams where we sit back and just look to counter-attack.

Referee was atrocious. Not just the penalty, but there were at least three blatant yellow cards that Chelsea should have had when they hacked our players down on the break.

Think it is yet again our players not being able to make that final ball or the right decision.

Quality of every outfield player was as bad as I've seen all season, couldn't play their way out of a wet paper bag or make a simple pass.

And as bad as they were on the pitch, manager on the sideline was worse. It was clear as day that winning was not a priority today, if that happened by luck or something great. He was actually okay with us losing I think because Fred, once he got a yellow, pulled out of several tackles letting Chelsea into our half. Atwell let Chelsea get away with man handling James all game and Bruno was only one that actually cared to talk to the ref yet was giving our players a yellow on their first offenses.

The waiting on the sub till after the 70th minute ? What was he watching on the pitch thinking we were going to create chances? Then James is winded but, takes Greenwood off still and with a few minutes left, why not let Amad at least get on and maybe do something - not like James was lighting it up all game other than being fouled.

Games like this is why as much as Ole has done so far in terms of mentality and getting us moving in the right direction, when it comes to winning trophies, too many games like this to have enough faith that he will get us there.

Did they? Personally I thought the difference was the quality of the delivery, they had better crossers and their best chance came from a long ball.
They were much more composed and fluent in possession, much better movement, incomparable passing etc.

They had the best chances in the game, you can try to make any excuse you like but it is what it is.

It's a shame we couldn't get a win and put a big 9 point gap between us and Chelsea. The performance as a whole was decent but the cutting edge was sorely lacking, couple of balls flashed across the box and a couple of long range efforts were all we mustered up.

Garbage again. No composure on the ball, shocking periods of poor passing, and obviously happy to settle for a point. How can McTominay not put that ball in front of Rashford and James?

Watching City win another league title without putting up a fight. Couldn't give a toss about how many goals we scored. Won't even remember how many points we finish up with by August

That's not progress. Simple as that.

Ref said to Maguire that he cant give the penalty cos there would be too much talk afterwards.
Ole is fuming.

Refreshing to see.

Its true. Posters here just have the sharpened pitchforks ready and can't wait to wave it about.

This forum has lost its way completely

It was a very good point in a game we couldn't afford to lose, and I thought it was an absorbing spectacle

I thought he played well, best of the front three. He's technically not good enough though, but I can see why he played and why Ole was pleased with him. Slightly tragic its come to this, being happy with our RW putting in a display like that.

Good performance. If we consistently set up and play like that then performances will follow. Vital we beat Palace with Chelsea and Pool playing midweek. Chelsea are nothing remarkable at all.
