He has a habit of turning back again once he cuts inside and opens up his body. He is shockingly unsure of his weaker foot. A pass to Maguire or McT were the obvious choices there.

Exactly. AWB struggles to look over his shoulder when he's occasionally having to defend a cross. Throwing him in the middle of the pitch where you need to be constantly aware of everyone around you sounds suicidalAnd in a roaming role you are exposing his main flaw which makes the suggesting baffling. When a player has poor awareness you don't give him more ground to cover and random players to mark.
They went on to score from the resulting corner but it was just offside. That performance was as bad as it gets.
Initially I thought this was a crazy thing to say. But actually I agree.Antonio Valencia was much better all round
He’s really bad at football. Excellent tackler. One of the best I’ve ever seen. His technical ability on the ball is miles off the required level though.
Agreed, I actually thought he had been getting better. He’s really bad at football. Excellent tackler. One of the best I’ve ever seen. His technical ability on the ball is miles off the required level though.
I am not even that excited about the tackling part anymore. He goes to ground way too easily. Sure, he is good at it, but it creates high risk situations when there is no need of doing so. With the reward often being that the ball goes out for a throw-in. It's not like he usually makes last-ditch tackles that prevent goals (Bailly does that at a higher rate imo). Also leads to quite a few cards. He’s really bad at football. Excellent tackler. One of the best I’ve ever seen. His technical ability on the ball is miles off the required level though.
It’s not even attacking play. It’s just basic passing. His attacking game seems to be regressing, rather than getting better. It’s a major hindrance on our attacking play as our attacks are so predictably skewed towards the left.
He isn't even that good a defender. Poor awareness and regularly out of position. Lindelof is babysitting him most of the game. He's a good defender but bang average footballer.
Shaw is just a far superior footballer. He has his fundamentals nailed down & looks comfortable on the ball. Wan-Bissaka has neither of those things.I think the biggest difference between Shaw and Wan Bissaka is that AWB needs his first touch to get the ball in control. This holds him back quite a bit, as he can't just naturally take the ball in his stride.
Passing, crossing and everything else becomes a lot easier for Shaw because his first touch is impeccable.
Thoroughly sick of comments like this. He's been excellent for us lately. Granted, this is not his type of game.He isn't even that good a defender. Poor awareness and regularly out of position. Lindelof is babysitting him most of the game.
Granted I like AWB but I can't disagree with this.He isn't even that good a defender. Poor awareness and regularly out of position. Lindelof is babysitting him most of the game.
