Why do fans of the English record champion even care who finishes fifth and sixth in the German feeder league?

The joke is on you and you don't even get it. You are obsessing over Dortmund because your very own yellow press took the piss on United's back this summer. They reported what you wanted to hear and you believed it like naive little children. And in the end, they offered you some scapegoats to channel your frustration and you gratefully accepted. All this hate towards Bundesliga fans stems from some of us trying to reason with you, it's essentially a defensive reaction because somebody tried to burst your precious, comfy little bubble. Funny thing is, it's one sided. You guys care more about the fan base of clubs several magnitudes smaller than yours than they do about your club.

So yeah, enjoy your little echo chamber and don't let reality distract you :) Meanwhile Dortmund and us fight out who'll get the chance to meet you guys in the Europa League after you'll inevitably crash out in the CL group stage again.
And we put 5 goals past you as usual.

Bit of a difference between a little bit of banter on social media to idiots saying Dortmund are a meaningless club.

As for you, @Moiraine, I've one thing to say: feck off. I've been pretending to be a United fan for over 30 years and I plan to continue pretending till I die. Questioning my support just because I insist on respecting Dortmund is revolting and uncalled for.
Right back at you with your disrespect to the posters.

Sticking up for a club that has chosen to disrespect United on multiple occasions and not just social media banter, but their club officials. Seems a bit odd if you ask me

You won @Zehner. Enjoy the Bundesliga, I hope it makes you very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little league you have. You ruined this thread completely so you could act great about a rival club keeping a player and I hope now you can spend the Sancho money on lessons in grace and decorum. Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.

Basically you're saying that if you're a United fan, there's only one way to view this. I'm afraid being part of a **** is not in my DNA.

The main point is, however, that even they should have handled themselves better here and there, they are still a great club.

I saw very little wrong in their actions, indeed. I just don't give a damn about such small matters. And even if I did care, I'd look at individuals rather at the club itself.

And yet here you are, whining about what people say on a football forum. Seems a bit odd.

Like United fans giving Dortmund stick on a United forum. This is where you draw the line? Bizarre

You do that to yourself, you have been blabbering about United fans making fun of Dortmund, but the social media trolling of United by official Dortmund’s accounts is nothing to you.

Exhibit: 2 years back Dortmund trolling united about the position we finished in 2019. Sancho transfer saga happened next year.

That has to be out of context....? I can't see why they'd be winding United up. What have we even done to them. It's genuinely puzzling.

A feeder club who started believing in their own hype. Wings being clipped.

Should shut the annoying twats up for a bit.
Every club is a feeder club unless you are Real Madrid. Manchester United, although a big club, is a feeder club to Real Madrid. There’s a reason why am Academy player who’s also English (Beckham) runs to Madrid despite already being at his boyhood club. Could you imagine Raul running to Manchester to leave Real?

This isn’t meant to offend anyone but that’s how the football world is. Other than Real Madrid, everybody else is a feeder club.

You need to understand what actually happened when Beckham left United..

He didn't want to leave but was sold by Sir Alex Ferguson. Beckham was very upset and cried. He's still a United fan to this day and never would have left had he had the choice.

Terrible example to use.

Of course a player has a choice. Did Sir Alex hold a gun to his head? Beckham could have just said "I'm not going" and not sign the contract. Who would force him to sign it? Juventus chose to sell Dybala to Manchester United and Dybala flat out refused to go.

Also, those type of stories (crying, etc.) are said by players to appease their older fans, etc. It's not something you should take at full value.

Besides that's not even the point. It doesn't have to be Beckham - C. Ronaldo, Ruud Van Nistelroy, etc.

Sorry but you clearly know nothing about what happened with Beckham and RvN. United never went for Dybala either, unless you choose to believe everything the newspapers tell you.

Ronaldo is the only valid example who dreamt of Madrid.

Ronaldo is the one that genuinely wanted to leave against the club's wishes. RVN and Beckham both were a case of players in huge demand whose relationship with Sir Alex broke down. We didn't need them anymore for the progress of the team but they were still top players who were good enough to play for big clubs

Exactly. Ronaldo was the only player we sold without wanting him gone. If we go with every player sold as some feeder club then maybe Madrid are feeder club to Napoli or some other midtable clubs.

To be fair I don't agree with degrading clubs by calling them feeder clubs anyway. But a bit of banter is fine. And goes both ways. So deal with it Dortm.. sorry Bundesliga fans.

I'm not sure how long you've been following football. When Bechkam was sold, we were coming towards the end of a completely different era of football and transfers where the player had little say when and where they were bought and sold. It is not like today where basically the player controls where they go and not the club in many ways.

I don't think Beckham moved to Madrid against his wishes. It's just that the relationship was such that both mutually parted ways - Sir Alex wanted none of the Beckham fan fare and Beckham was too big a name to accept being on the bench.

Yeah, fans taking piss out of each other is all well and good, it's just bit of fun but official accounts of clubs taking cheap shots at club is just pathetic. For a clubs who achieved feck all, they try too hard on social media for few likes and retweets.

Yeah, I wasn't specifically talking about Beckham but about player's choice around that time.

In what context a club rubbing salt on other's club's misfortune would be okay? Unless may be somehow united officially riled them up? That tweet was classless and unwarranted. The tweet, as they were fully aware, made headlines across all newspapers, reached almost all corners of the world. Classless cnts.

Obviously saying that is foolish. Just like Dortmund fans signing up to mock United is also idiotic. But there's a difference between a bit of stupidity from fans who are often stupid and clubs officially behaving in a classless manner. I mean, that you find more issue with the former is odd.

 this thread

I, for one, wasn't bothered one bit that we failed to get Sancho.

But I still don't understand why it bothers people so much that we take the piss out of Dortmund. This is what happens when you stick to your guns and things don't go as you expect. It's just natural. Happens every time in life
