Somehow I've made United work in matchday and now I'm probably gonna be in the final tonight. Muga!
It's a standalone game. They just mean to say that 21 is a minor update from 20.Can I buy PES 2021 on the PS Store if I don't have PES2020? It says it's an update so I'm a bit confused here.
Is it the full game or not?
Alright thanks, I'll go and buy it!It's a standalone game. They just mean to say that 21 is a minor update from 20.
Yes there is. Not my thing but I’ve read that a lot of people prefer it to Ultimate Team. What are the game modes like? Is there an equivalent to Ultimate Team?
I haven't played PES in years. Used to be my favorite footie game by a mile.
Cool.Yes there is. Not my thing but I’ve read that a lot of people prefer it to Ultimate Team.
Most game modes are lacking compared to FIFA but still enjoyable for what they are.
Same. Grabbed it yesterday and there were so many give aways in the MyTeam section I've now got a front 6 of Bruno, Beckham, Son, Messi, KDB and Mbappe.I got the United edition over Xmas. Really enjoying it so far after a few years of not really enjoying any footy games.
No.Just downloading this now. Do you have to pay for membership on PES Universe these days to download the option file ?
This against the AI or online players ?I swear to god I hate this game, I dominate possession every single match, but lose to some stupid sloppy goal where they play it into a striker and they turn my defender like they aren’t even there and I just can’t stop them.
Not even sure how I dominate possession, I don’t try to but I just do.
Online! This against the AI or online players ?
Probably because nobody plays PESSo I wanted to try this one again, the Lite version because I don't play offline these days. I started myClub and matchmaking is still horrible, the wait time is horrendous.
Yeah it’s pretty frustrating. The fact they have to make your players sluggish, do inexplicable things, switch to the wrong player, pass to nobody, make your centrebacks scatter or ping a shot in from 40 yards if you don’t close down makes it unplayable at times. I probably win 1 in 3/4/5 on that difficulty. You need the first goal, then go uber defensive and play for possession using your back line if they press high up the field.PES on Legend difficulty in the ML may just be the best example of overpowered scripted ai. The game is beyond playable. Its, frankly, amazing that-that level of difficulty exists because there's 0 enjoyment in it. Its a frustrating and a horrible piece of shit.
I initially thought Legend difficulty would produce a more realistic interpretation of the game, how wrong was I.Junk.
I tend to score plenty online from distance, but I've always used advanced shooting so most tips I can give would only be for that. Don't bother shooting from outside the box with anybody without either the Long Range Shooting or Long Range Drive player skills. Also, any tips for scoring outside the box? I find them really hard, even using manual as the GK always saves them.
Good to know. I'll have a look before the match about stats as it'll be good to know who's got those traits. I really like the extra incentive not to waste long shots just because I have space.I tend to score plenty online from distance, but I've always used advanced shooting so most tips I can give would only be for that. Players with Long Range Drive and a decent amount of curl stat will have good success with Henry type shots, on the opposite side of the box to their stronger foot, curling into the far corner. Usually hit these with plenty of power, and aim higher if I'm wider (you can score these from stupid positions like outside of the corner of the box if it loops over the keeper) and lower if I'm more central. You can also do Quaresma type trivela shots from the other side if the player has the Outside Curler skill and you position him to take a shot where a normal player would use his weaker foot. These usually only work on high shots for me as the trivela has a very loopy trajectory.
Players with Long Range Shooting and plenty of kicking power can blast in rifle straight shots pretty often as well. I usually just aim these one side or the other at medium height with about 60% power (around what you'll probably use for most free-kick attempts) from central positions. Unfortunately, if the player has Rising Shots this has a decent chance to just fly up into the stands, and if the player has Dipping Shots, it'll have a decent chance to just bobble through to the keeper (though these skills won't be triggered every time even if the player has them). I've found no practical use for either of these skills because low shots don't trigger the rise and high shots don't trigger the dip. Maybe they can do something useful if you're using either basic or manual.
Forgot to mention the most important bit sorry but you've probably already inferred it. Long Range Drive = RT/R2 curl/finesse shots, Long Range Shooting = straight up shots with no modifier.Good to know. Lovely goal.Overhead kick goal on full manual against superstar CPU!
Well, (for me) the point of turning up the difficulty should be a more challenging opponent, if you turn everything on manual the game will be more challenging, but for different reasons. A.e. fecking up simple passes.Lovely goal.
I thought I was great at PES until I gave manual passing a go. Nope, just can't deal with it. Simple passes are just too much of a nightmare for me.
Yes, I agree! Manual can sometimes feel great further up the pitch with the added freedom, but when sideways passes between your back 4 are always slightly off the mark, it just kills the game for me.Well, (for me) the point of turning up the difficulty should be a more challenging opponent, if you turn everything on manual the game will be more challenging, but for different reasons. You just can't be consistently precise enough with the stick on a gamepad for it to work for me. Same reason I don't like playing shooters with a gamepad instead of keyboard and mouse. Well, that and I play mostly online so it'd be a massive handicap there no matter what.Yes, I agree!
