The paywall for one. Just give me ads like every other website so I can block them.Nothing wrong with the Athletic; a lot of great people work there.
I very much doubt it’s actually gonna happen, not yet anyway. I’d be all for the clubs who signed up being heavily punished.Theyll get as many top English sides in as they can. Leciester etc will be added down the line imo.
Simon Stone is usually fairly reliable isn't he? I wouldn't expect him to have tweeted it without fairly cast iron sources. Was this confirmed? If so, yes it does seem a bit off.
Boris is looking more and more like old Bilbo Baggins everyday.Tweet

Where did you get that link from ? Thought FIFA was in favor?Yeah, I'm assuming based on what UEFA did say in their own announcement. You're assuming based on your own interpretation of the events.
Till something arises that says this point won't happen, people should be concerned that this is what's going to happen if this goes on:
Sickening.Look at Boris Johnson saying the easy and popular thing.
On what grounds? Business is business. This is a negotiation tactic. Can’t just bend over to UEFA.I very much doubt it’s actually gonna happen, not yet anyway. I’d be all for the clubs who signed up being heavily punished.

Exactly. People just fail to understand the last point. It's a complete scare crow tacticThe Super League clubs couldn't care less about being banned from European Competition. The Super League would replace those competitions.
The threat to expel them from domestic leagues is completely empty. You think La Liga would ever want to expel Barcelona and Real Madrid? Not only would it be financial suicide but it would take about five minutes for both those clubs plus every advertising and television sponsor to immediately file suit.
It’s business as usual. What do the reddit ITKs say about this? @Acquire Me ?
No I don't want us punished.I very much doubt it’s actually gonna happen, not yet anyway. I’d be all for the clubs who signed up being heavily punished.
Boris Johnson has strong ties to grassroots sport, like that time he bulldozed a ten year old kid playing rugby.
It's UEFA's official website ?Where did you get that link from ? Thought FIFA was in favor?
Very interesting post. No way is that true regarding Barca and Dundee! I've just found out they played a friendly at dundees stadium in 2007 and Messi, Henry, Ronaldinho, xavi, iniesta eto all played. The full match is on YouTube!Hopefully people can begin to see the damage that was done to European football when teams from the so-called big leagues were given preference in the Champions League by receiving automatic qualification at the expense of the majority of European countries, brought about after suffering some embarrasing defeats in the qualifying rounds (including our own against Galatasaray in 1993). Making sure the money stayed within an elite group of teams was a horrible idea to begin with. If you give children unlimited access to candy, of course they are going to throw a tantrum if this is somehow taken away from them (in this case due to Covid). "Who wants to see [insert random team outside the big ones]?". Well, I grew up watching Barcelona being beaten home and away by Dundee United, being absolutely thrashed by the Shevchenko-led Dinamo Kiev, and needing penalties to go through after suffering a 3-0 defeat against IFK Gothenburg in Sweden. For me, this was 100% more exciting than watching the umpteenth match between Bayern and Barca.
I have no issue with this.Global TV revenue will be huge for this. As much as we love our own Leauge, the appeal for fans especially in China, US, India and pretty much the remainder of Asia to watch the biggest teams in the world play each other week in week out is a massive global market to exploit. Jus looking at some statistics, apprarantly the PL draws in billions of views in China alone each season.
I abosolutly hate this idea though. Not sure I want to see Leicester City winning the PL every season.
Meaning we just carry on without this messy situation? It’s business as usual.
He’s a joke of a manBoris Johnson has strong ties to grassroots sport, like that time he bulldozed a ten year old kid playing rugby.
They have no fecking clue have theySky Sports News just said that developments are expected in the next half an hour to an hour.
That man is as set in stone sorrySimon Stone on radio 5 saying that there was no announcement from the clubs of a statement at 9.30 and that nobody from those clubs willing to say anything about the plans.
One for the Scandinavia is not as it seems to be thread.Another one gone too soon
He's spot on though.Look at Boris Johnson saying the easy and popular thing.
Okay, thanksSky Sports News just said that developments are expected in the next half an hour to an hour.
Just using this a deflection from his messy selfHe’s a joke of a man
We'd deserve it.No I don't want us punished.
If you are a local fan, then you might. CL final is the most watched event in the world now. No one is watching a CL final with RBL and Bayern ( no offense meant) except for Bundesliga fans .Bullshit. People will watch which ever teams are the best. Thats not Tottenham or Arsenal. No one cares much about this current incarnation of Barcelona, Red Bull Liepzig are pretty much as attractive as them at the moment.
As you say, Global TV revenue for the PL is already huge. They'd basically just be letting European clubs piggy back off our leagues success, which seems daft to meGlobal TV revenue will be huge for this. As much as we love our own Leauge, the appeal for fans especially in China, US, India and pretty much the remainder of Asia to watch the biggest teams in the world play each other week in week out is a massive global market to exploit. Well that's an end to it then. Players will not have that happen.UEFA have reiterated Fifa's stance that players taking part in the Super League would be banned from all other competitions at domestic, European or world level and could be prevented from representing their national teams.
How would they make money? The paywall for one. Just give me ads like every other website so I can block them.
I always imagined you like a Bilbo type bloke to be fair. You just pop up on the pod amongst your fecking washing machine.Boris is looking more and more like old Bilbo Baggins everyday.
