Anyone else celebrating?

We've finished top 4 two seasons in a row under Ole, something we haven't do since Fergie retired. I know Mourinho qualified for the CL twice but the first was by winning the EL.

How should we approach the rest of the season? It could be a good opportunity to play some fringe players like Amad, especially against Leicester

Good to see consistency, hope the trophies start backing it up now and a genuine title challenge.

Good achievement when considered alongside everything else - lots of goals, good attacking player, good squad rebuild, good in cups, resilient, positive atmosphere in club.

Can kick on from here if the club doesn't mess it up

Should be an expectation rather than a cause for celebration.

Liverpool are right back in the race for top four after West Ham lost today.

Rest everyone who played today for the Leicester game, then go full-strength against the dippers.

We'll probably play second team against Leicester City (especially with Maguire's injury reinforcing how we can't afford to lose anyone for the final), mostly first team against Liverpool and possibly Fulham if they've still not been relegated then play fringe against Wolves with both eyes on the Europa final three days later.

Actually i think we should clearly celebrate finishing in the top 4 and getting to the Europa final and hopefully winning. Ole has done a hell of a job since the project restart. He's transforming the squad and club back to how Fergie handled the club. There are clear holes in the squad, there is deadwood in the squad and of course off the field shiite to deal with regarding the owners and protests.

This is a big summer for Ole to really stamp his profile on the club with who he brings in and who he ships out.

Its not really anything to get excited about, it highlights how far we have fallen behind. Reminds me of how we used to laugh at Arsenal 10 years ago.

Hopefully we can take the next step, but Ole has done a fantastic job so far.

It only shows that to people who were not already aware of the painfully obvious. It shows we are moving in a more stable and more positive direction.

It is definitely good. We've had instability ever since Sir Alex retired and struggled. We've taken the first step in getting some consistency - and top four 2 seasons in a row is good. Now we build on this. Contrary to what some think - that we should expect to be there - it is not that simple and we have fallen a long way down, so this is good.
Well done to Ole, the coaching team and of course our players. We need to plug the holes in the squad and start thinking of winning the PL and getting more trophies.

Good to see the continued progress and top 4 achieved with 4 games to spare. let's not forget top 4 was looking doubtful after a poor transfer window and slow start to this season mostly down to having no pre season and fitness levels not up to the required level.

Winning a trophy will be a nice bonus on May 26th

I'll celebrate if we win the Europa League and finish second with 76+ points. Until then, we haven't accomplished anything worthy of celebration.

Not bothered about finishing in the top 4’two years in a row.

a top 4 finish has never been something to celebrate.

however - our season on season progress is something to be pleased about and dare I say it, to celebrate.

It will have to be all-change against Leicester City, and definitely Best 11 against Liverpool. Fulham perhaps a few change and give VDB 90min. Perhaps more resting against Wolves

pleased at the obvious progress. Consistency in the league improving and a great shot at a European trophy. Next season I hope for a genuine title challenge, 1/4 at least of the champions league, and a cup .

Not "celebrating" it by any means, but aware it's progress. To be worth anything to me, it has to mean more than 6 group games and another elimination and built on with results and performances in the league to sustain a title challenge.

"Celebrating" is a little bit over the top. It was a pretty good league campaign though, not great because we failed to challenge but pretty good overall. Hopefully we win Europe League as this will make it our best season post Fergie.

Not quite celebration worthy, I expect us to finish second and would definitely celebrate if we get the Europa. Hopefully we actually build on this and get the players in that we need, Ole has every right to feel annoyed if we don't invest fairly heavily this summer.

Will be an interesting fight for the title between you guys and Chelsea next season. Didn't think Ole had it in him but this team is now stable and very difficult to beat. Add a bit more quality and at least 2 trophies in on the cards next season. You guys are back! Enjoy.

Means feck all that.

What means something is advancing in positions and points season on season, something only Ole and Mourinho have managed.
Mourinho: 69 > 81
Ole: 66 > mid-late 70’s*
* had a great chance for 80 had it not been for shite scheduling, also deserves extra credit for doing it whilst getting to the EL final.

Ole though, more importantly, looks in a much more promising position to advance on points again next season.

I think it’ll take time for people to accept this as we have had so many false dawns. But the signs are there and if we have a good summer (2-3 first teamers join) then we have every chance of challenging.

It’s not one to celebrate as such, but it’s certainly one to recognise as a significant milestone. Anyone completely dismissing it, that top 4 is the bare minimum etc, needs to remember just how poor our league finishes have been post-SAF.

And we all feel good about our chances to get it again next year which is the most important thing.

Well, if we've fallen that far behind, then surely it's something to get excited about that we are now taking clear steps towards getting back to where we want to be. Or should we rather just sit around sulking angrily over the fact we're no longer winning the league every second year?

Or maybe your gloating over Arsenal's demise was pretty stupid in the first place. As that example should tell you, being a dominant club isn't something that necessarily continues automatically. And as that example should also tell you, there aren't any guarantees of a return to greatness. We're now on the path to doing it, they're not. Treating that like it's somehow beneath you to be pleased about just smacks of Hyacinth Bucket.

My minimum expectations for the season was that we'd have CL football guaranteed with games to spare and not be going into the final match day with it still to play for. I don't think we realised how competitive the top 4 would be this season with 6 teams still in with a shout for the final 2 spots, so United getting it sewn up with 4 games to spare is definitely a strong improvement.

We're 4 points better off than last season already and it would be nice to finish second but I do wonder after Maguire's injury whether Ole will rotate heavily now with CL guaranteed. He needs a trophy so i would take 3rd or 4th (due to squad rotation) and a Europa League win

Whats the point if we get knocked out in the CL group stages.

Its great to be in the EL final, but we really should be in the CL final.

We beat PSG, so had the quality to do it. The fact chelsea is in the CL final is like getting kicked in the teeth.

Im not celebrating anything.
