Shocking performance and we can't even bring anyone off the bench to make any difference.

Weak squad, Ole overall out of his depth sadly
Anyone would have played better than Rashford. We were playing with 10 men the whole game. Glad he scored the pen or else media would be rating his performance below 0.

As if the opponent had squad full of world class players.

Watched the fergie interview yesterday, he said unless he got mentally strong players he was finished. This was in the 80's.

We have a manager who doesn't understand the first thing about game management.

Finals and semi finals and big CL nights are all about game management.

It's not good enough.

Mentally there's issues, there seemed to be a much bigger focus on not losing in ET than winning. Might have been tiredness, but we looked a bit timid, and they looked braver.

Also think they had an air of confidence with the penalties, but then they were facing De Gea so you can kind of understand it.

Our players are good enough. The manager is not a good coach. Stop being obtuse.

Lot's of positions need upgrades, Luke Shaw has been bad the last few weeks and tonight he made an effort for about 10 minutes out of 120.

Just one of many either not good enough or under performing.

Tell you what, we win that shootout and it would have given us the most confidence ever.

Ole is a bottler. Our players did their best and a better coach would have led them to victory.

We played well. They had every man behind the ball. One lucky goal and Penalties were a lottery. That’s football. Ole and the boys will come back next season

They made 5 changes - we made 0. This is all on Ole. I swear i havent seen a manager make 0 subs until midway of extra time.

We had two shots on target. Just because Villarreal gifted us possession, doesn’t mean we played well.

Fair play to them, but seeing them lift the trophy in front of a club like Utd and it's not even CL is fcking embarrassing. So yes, calling us bottlers is justified.

We have problem breaking down teams who sit deep.

This has been a issue since the Moyes days.

Villarreal were decent at best. They were there for the taking. We gave up after the 90 minutes. What happened then Ole and De Gea should explain

Bingo

It's not just about bottle. Our possession football and ability to open teams up through our passing, as opposed to running into space, has been average for years. Our football of late has actually been really poor and has had zero excellence to it.

100% we're bottlers hands down.

We're great as long as there's no pressure.

We're actually about to bottle the Rome game. That tells you all about us.

We're rubbish when it matters.

Because you are an elite supporter who dares not criticise or whine about anything
We have lost other finals - FA Cups (Everton and Arsenal), CL (Barca x 2) in the past 30 years. Get over it, move on. Nothing to do with being an ‘elite‘ fan - it’s got everything to do with not be a fragile, entitled cnut. get behind the team or feck off.

I wonder about the club's technical staff. Like, what Carrick and Mckenna actually do ? Anyone in there tries to help Ole with tactics ? So many things the fans can't know...

We can only see the end result which isn't good enough. This team does not play football that's headed towards the top. Not surprising given we don't have a top class manager. We'll keep hovering around the 2nd to 5th from year to year until we do

The problem is that we lost 4 SFs previously and haven’t won a trophy since 2017. This trophy could’ve been a stepping stone for better things to come but, WE feckING BOTTLED IT.

We are literally posting in a thread right after we got beat in a EL final by a team that finished 7th in La Liga. You are being top end irrational here and i'm pissing myself laughing. Thanks for cheering me up.

The team as a collective aren't bottlers.

The problem is the players of stature at the club are bottlers, it's been the case for years and will be until someone with some balls gets rid of the overpaid, overrated dross from the club.

In a final, there is always a team that loses. It’s shit. It’s demoralising. But the default is not that the loser bottles it. Such a shit phrase, that seems to have been popularised on the caf.

If this is the best what our players can do then they should look for a new club.
3 shoots on target in 120 minutes is a disgrace

Presumably you have incontinence so it’s not a surprise.

Agree and it'll continue until we get players who can really pass or create angles with their first and second touch.

Nothing to do with bottle.
