This season doesn't look particularly great, but the two years before he's outperformed his xG quite a bit and Werder wasn't exactly the club to rack up the goals either. I wouldn't play him upfront, but rather from deep/or one of the wings, making penetrating runs. This is where the professionals earn their salary, they have to determine how well his performances would scale up in a proper attack. Whether he has the positional intelligence to consistently make well-timed runs.
Agreed on all fronts. I also found those xG stats that you were talking about, and it does sort of indicate that he has some decent quality in him. He's 24, too, so it's not like he's necessarily going to get worse from here on in.

I'm intrigued at the fact that Paul Hirst has named the exact same four players as Jamie Jackson did. I wonder if we'll see those four names pop up more often within the next few hours.
Must be brief, the money we would need to spend to get all of them would be crazy and just won't happen. Can only imagine it would be possible if we somehow sold De Gea, Pogba and Martial. Even then it's still out of reach.

Mitten said on Sky earlier. United are looking at a CB, holding midfielder, right sided attacker and a back up right back. Went on to mention Solskjaer wants Sancho (if the wages are right and if the agent's fee are right), that United like Rice/ Grealish and looking at Trippier.

United will be on full on brief mode.

Where did I say we signed Telles because we didn't want Shaw? This shows how much you don't understand and only making things up on something I didn't say. We chose to sign a left back because our backup Brandon is not good enough and that's why we chose to sign Telles so he can be a better backup than Brandon instead of Chilwell because Ole believes Shaw is good enough to be in our XI, thus there is no need to blow our transfer budget on LB.

On contrary, we are trying to spend lot of money on CB again because Lindelof is not good enough to be in our XI, thus why we are still searching for a new CB who is good enough for our XI. Cost the same as prime Bonucci in 2017 CB market but doesn't play the same level as prime Bonucci and now we are still hunting for a regular XI CB.
Bonucci didn’t want to leave Italy at that time.

Lindelof would be an excellent 3rd choice CB. It is worth noting though he’s only really now aging into his theoretical peak years. 26 is still young for a CB and he has proven a decent player for us.

A poor signing to spend 35m on 3rd choice CB in 2017 market.

Hoeneß dampens expectations over Bayern's upcoming summer transfer activity.
He is probably correct, but he does not speak for Bayern since he is not a club official anymore. It is merely his opinion though he will know more than a regular.

Yeah, that's important to point out, and thanks for doing so. Still, he'd have a bit of an idea of Bayern's direction given his ties to the club. Anyways, after acquiring Upamecano and Nagelsmann with not-so-small fees, I wouldn't be surprised if Bayern Munich continue to look for cheaper options in order to keep their finances stable.

More on Lucas Torreira + Moussa Dembélé:

Atlético would be delighted with Lucas but they have just confirmed that it is very difficult for him to continue. They will talk about it [staying at Atlético] yes but they see it 'almost impossible'. The Moussa Dembélé thing [loan] will end for sure.

Let’s all jump on the conspiracy theory central train boys! I’ve got my tin hat ready too!

Choo! Choo!

macheda14's right; that article reads like a summary of everything that's been covered and doesn't even offer any additional insight. It's a nice article to up the fans' hopes after a miserable end to the season, but it doesn't offer much else.

If anything, that just screams a leak for a PR exercise - out of Ed's playbook.
I think McGrath did as well, smells like a brief.
 Sad but true.
A brief amount of time between the 2 articles.
McGrath mainly covered Ole getting a new contract before going over the multiple links and players of interest (not comprehensive). He excluded both Rice and Pau Torres whilst talking about how Kane could affect our transfer activity (and not necessarily us working to bring him in).

This does, however, feel like a leak from the club.
SOP from the Glazers. Brief journos about incoming transfer spree after loss.

And yet people fall for it. Sigh.
Has anyone fallen for it? Even on Twitter people are calling it out as a blatant bit of Glazer PR.

I was referencing the tweet above my original post, quite a few wanted us to sign him from Celtic.
And when at Lyon for a lot of people. I've been banging the drum of him not being good enough for a big club for a long time.

As if the Glazers will sanction roughly over £300M worth of transfer fees.
Even if we could make 100m from sales (which ain’t happening) them cnuts are not spending 200m or even 150. If they spent feck all it wouldn’t surprise me.

This is unexpected. I don't get how Raiola will benefit off of Barcelona, especially since I doubt that they'd give him big money only to potentially put him on the bench in case Ter Stegen's better.

EDIT: Di Marzio states that Juve aren't viable for Donnarumma as Allegri likes Szczesny as his #1, who was 3 years left on his contract.

The fat slug probably told his client that Milan would eventually cave in and give him the money. Now that hasn't happened, he'll be scrabbling around trying to get Donnarumma a club.

Understandable from Allegri's pov.
Szczesny is one of the worlds most underrated players.

It would put a smile on my face to see Donnaruma being a persona non grata for all his and his agents antics for the last two contract renewals.

I mean, it's amazing that he's over a year younger than Rashford at 22, and he's had Milan over the barrel twice now - for an academy graduate to do that must be pretty sickening for Milan and Milan fans.

If it is true that Barca are enquiring about him then you can bet Raiola won't be getting €20m commission or Donnaruma getting the €12m a year he wants.

I would be quite content to see United move on DDG and Henderson for Oblak to be our next number 1.
