Won't be watching as it is bound to be an anti-climax after Swansea V Brentford but I expect City to win in some spectacularly jammy fashion and then we will never hear the end of how Pep invented football, cured COVID and put an end to world hunger. Honestly, he is an Oasis fan so he is clearly a feckwit.

By rich people who actually invest money into their clubs and show at least some sort of care about the social benefits that it all brings? Maybe we should be looking at who is owning our club instead of being jealous of the others.
Wow:lol: Now that is a take!

Interesting take as it was Chelsea who couldn't sell 5800 tickets and had to send nearly 1k back
You mean the tickets that cost about 400 quid because they were only available as part of a special package?

Incidentally, isn't the Sheik paying for the travel costs of your fans?

City will win if they just play to their own strengths rather than Pep completely outthinking himself and doing something braindead like lining up in a 3-4-3 to match Chelsea's formation.

So I'd say its a coinflip.

Apperently Gundo went out limping early today may not be fit for the final.

If City win, do you think the owners might pat themselves on the back for a job well done and then move on? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
Not suggesting that they would just sell up and leave. More, would they be so focused and motivated to put everything into winning. Every aspect of their ownership of the club has been first class, from the facilities to the academy. I'm just hoping that if they won it, they'd move on to other things, bragging right secured. That would be the only saving grace of City winning. Especially now they can't beat our treble. What do you guys think?

City seem to have been preemptively filming celebratory material at the Etihad for the last two nights now. You can hear and see it all the way across Manchester,

Have been watching these finals since the 80s and I can't recall a final i care less about than this one.

For what its worth I think Tuchel will lose another CL final narrowly. 2-1 Man City

Indeed and I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Just pointing it out, Can you imagine the little club shitstorm said poster and the army of numpties would throw at City if we sent them back, also aren't they £200 tickets? which are still stupidly expensive given the pandemic.

This was discussed on ESPN. It is not the price of the tickets, but travel and hotel prices are horrible right now, if you are able to find hotels.

Chelsea are just Awful in every aspect

City win all the way

I think it’ll be a cracker in all fairness too

Man City fighting for their First ever CL Trophy and doing the big D

And Chelsea fighting for success after an appalling last EPL match loss luckily securing 4th over Leicester and losing the FA Cup Final

it’s not written in stone, but I’m expecting an awesome game

If Chelsea are brave enough I can see them causing enough problems for City so I am going for Chelsea win and I wouldn't even consider it a big upset either City are clear favourites but in One off game Chelsea have enough about them to hold their own .

Pretty much as bad as Liverpool - Spurs, only that now I actually expect Chelsea to try to win the thing. So maybe not so bad. Not going to watch it.

I cannot remember a CL final in modern times that has less media interest than this one. It’s going to be a coronation for City and Pep, but no one outside of Abu Dhabi really cares much.

I wouldn’t say there’s been little interest in the media.
It’s been getting a lot of coverage on the national radio news reports and certainly is being discussed on local radio in the south of England.
Five Live and Talk Sport have also been giving a lot of time over to discussing it and so have Sky Sports, even though they’re not covering the match. Then there’s the newspaper sports pages. Full of it for the last couple of days.
It seems to me there’s more pre-match coverage than the Liverpool vs Spurs final.
Just wait until tomorrow, if City win. It’ll be blasted out everywhere. Bas**rds.

Just like Liverpool v Spurs in 2019, I'll be avoiding this match. I have desire or interest in watching City win a CL.

They're in it for the money, not the trophies, not the kindness of their hearts, money. It was never the 'bored billionaire's plaything', it's a business investment, the way the smarter rich people often do to get even richer. As long as City keeps making them money they won't get bored of winning, IMO.

Obviously it’s going to be more talked about in England and specially London than anywhere else. Im talking about worldwide neutral chatter. More people tweeted about Alaba signing for Madrid and some K-Pop band the day before the CL final than the final itself.

I don't know why anyone is concerned about either 'club' 'winning' this. It will be a hollow, non-legit 'victory' like everything else they have 'achieved' since they completely destroyed the game that everyone loves. The only hope I have is that the cheating cvnts all somehow internally combust today and give us our game back.

City haven’t won a CL before, ever

and Chelsea are trying to salvage what has been a poor season losing a cup final and scrapping top 4 on the last day with a loss

I think it’ll be a belter personally

I have no interest in watching Chelsea claim any victory, like I’m sure you feel the same towards city, but as a fan of football I’m not going to let that get in the way of me watching hopefully a good match

Maybe if you focused on your own teams problems instead of blaming your failures on others you might improve? Also more than a little rich for a United fan to be whining about clubs having too much money.

Exactly so.
There’s no way City is a plaything or just a status symbol. It’s naive and ignorant to think so.

The sheik and his family set out to build a global football brand as a long term business plan.
They looked for a donor club on which to root it and build from, which ended up being Man City.
They called their holding company, Abu Dhabi United....and there was a lot of speculation about why they chose that name at the beginning.

Under their City Football Group, they’ve already launched New York (USA), Melbourne (Aus), Mumbai (India) and Montevideo (Uraguay) as “City” branded clubs and either own outright, or have a growing shareholding in clubs in China (Sichuan Jiuniu), Japan (Yokohama F Marinos), Spain (Girona), Belgium (Lommel SK) and France (Troyes).
Some of those clubs have Women’s teams as well.
They are also building state of the art football academies and centres of excellence in a couple of those countries, in order to capture and nurture top young talent from around the world.

They’ve established the “City brand” and CL titles will help cement their plan to become a powerhouse in world football.
It makes me sick, to be honest. If they succeed, they’ll not only be the richest, but their global following could end up being massive.

City big favourites. We've been struggling to score goals badly last few matches. Will need to be near perfect defensively to have a chance.

Good thing is we've already qualified for next year. That pressure would have been very difficult.

Unfortunately any attempt at focusing is clouded by the financial doping of the two plastic monstrosities who have destroyed our game but I guess, as a plastic, you’re not bothered about that.

More like Pep will leave sooner rather than later.

The owners are huge football fans. I remember a story where Bobby Charlton said that before taking over, one of the man city guys were super obsessed with united and the way the team functions blah blah. They're mission and obsession was to make man city better than United and the best team in England.

As someone who actually remembers the monolithic status of the game pre-Abramovich and who also remembers how many more different winners there have been since that time than in the period before, you're quite right it doesn't bother me at all.

I can understand how not automatically winning the title every year and no longer being the richest kid on the clock by a considerable margin could be frustrating to someone of a certain mindset though.

In a way it is a business investment, it's effectively the PR arm of a nasty regime. City doesn't make any money for them - they've already been caught funneling extra cash under the table to pay for players to be there - but provides an important distraction from people asking questions about Abu Dhabi working conditions, modern day slavery, horrible human rights record, etc.

The only way they'll leave City is if the oil money dries up or if it stops being an effective front for their dirty money. And you're right, it won't happen any time soon.
