Jokes aside, we're a highly technical side with great tactical organization. If you don't press the combination of those two means you'll be spending a looooong 90 minutes camped in your box. If you press us you might have some success but you're also exposing yourself by giving us space to attack into

We're a paper tiger. We'll keep beating the weaker sides, but i don't see us beating better sides like France or Portugal
Is that a popular phrase in Italy? My coworker who is Italian says it a lot.

Shaping up to play Ukraine in the RO16 which they should win but not convinced they'll beat what will probably be Belgium in the QFs.
Mh, depends on the form of De Bruyne and Lukaku

Ah, in English that's called "being England".

Possibly yes... at least, it was. It's a chinese saying popularized in the west by Mao Tse-tung's Little red book, which was read a lot in Italy in the decades when the left had an uncontested intellectual dominance in the public debate.

Strong and well organised with a good spine. I liek there midfield and still has Veratti to add in there and they have the world best defender never mentioned as the worlds best defender for me and thats Chielleni.

Saying that, I am not sure how far Italy go as wasnt a surprising performance for me but I do feel better sides will punish them on the break and also not sure they have the individual quality or pace up front to win the tourament, very good performance and workrate as a team though

Enjoyed Italy's performance a lot, might actually root for them from now on.

If that is the best Turkey have to offer I might have a punt on Dan James for the golden boot.
Honestly, I wouldn't be all that surprised if he managed to nick something against Italy if they have their fullbacks pushed up that high again with only the couple of pensioners at CB left covering.

You know what annoys me? Basketball, football or handball player for example play the game while 10k-100k people screaming on his ear, swearing and shit like that. Only in tennis God forbid if someone coughs during the gem. Djokovic goes berserk for example. Then they play few minutes then they sit down under umbrella, kid comes with banana, soda etc...then they play few minutes and again break.
Then serve comes. Towel. First serve into the net. Then towel again. And shit like that....

fecking hell, not saying that that sport is easy (because it is not) but players (especially Djokovic) are spoiled.
You need concentration in tennis. It is a mental game, but a tactical and physical too.
You don’t like them to sit two minutes ? They can play 5 hours every two days ffs !
I get it, it’s too much a noble game to you ! But it’s class and it can be so beautiful. And it is fair too ! No much controversy about referee and all.
With football, it’s my favorite sport !

Belgium aren't very intimidating on paper. Hazard is past it, their defence is all old and past it, and they'll rely on de Bruyne (not fit for 1st game) and Lukaku up top with a decent midfield behind with Tielemans and Witsel. Italy have a far better squad imo.

That was very poor from Turkey. The least you expect from a Turkish side is for them to be feisty and physical and they did not deliver that. Italy passed the ball around comfortably.

Good opening game. Dreading it wouldve been one of those dull disciplined 0-0 games. Italy looked fantastic.

Portugal? Not really, no. Our midfield at least these days hardly can support any combination of midfielders who are technically very good and fast to react when they lose the ball. If the competition was last year think we would be better, tbh wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t beat Hungary. Full stadium, suspicious midfield etc. By the way last time we played at the San Siro we were extremely lucky to avoid defeat. Then the same thing happened last week at Madrid. This time Germany or France won’t waste many chances to score.

Maybe.. if Werner isn’t playing:lol:

Also you can’t convince this message board to stop overrating Portugal. It’s a Bruno and Ronaldo thing I think..

Would still have you in the top 5 but definitely this year clear favorite has to be France followed by Germany. Pogba is a completely different animal for France purely because he knows Kante can do things McFred together are incapable of doing.

Italy was decent but were made to look like prime Spain because Turkey was that gash.

Yeah, Italy looked like a quality side last night. Quick pass and move football, bundles of energy throughout the team, high pressing, the works. A proper modern day outfit.

Turkey were poor but especially in the second half Italy looked like a very good side. They will be a tough team to beat.

I was hoping Turkey would at least be able to hold their own. awful
I think they did for the first 35 minutes. After that they looked shattered for the rest of the game and collapsed.

I particularly liked what I saw from Spinazzola, Jorginho and Insigne in that game.

Take a look at the teams they have played, I think Turkey are a dark horse, they have good players and an incredibly experiences coach.
Well, almost ;)
believe Turkey will show against Switzerland and Wales that in fact Italy was simply amazing yesterday and not they so weak.
