Are you watching closely?
I watched it till the end, and I liked all of the seasons. I liked some less than others, such as the infamous eight season. I still watched it every week, though. One of my all-time favourite tv shows, I think. Some absolutely brilliant episodes and scenes.
Just binged the entire series, and I agree with this except for season 1 (I almost quit the show because it was way too cringe for my taste). Easily one of the best comedy shows I've ever seen.

And I've rarely laughed as much as I did during these three scenes, literally rolling on the floor:

I liked the least sixth and seventh seasons. Michael became way too obnoxious and like a extremely spoiled child, and the rest went out of their way to indulge him.

Is there any streaming services in the Uk that currently have it? Have been meaning to watch it for ages but haven’t seen it on prime or Netflix.

I don't think so. It got taken off Netflix "temporarily" (so they said) but it's been about 2 years now and it's not come back :(

You can get the boxset of all 9 seasons for £28 on Amazon.

Over the last couple of months, I've raced through the first 8 seasons of this and I loved every minute of it. I'm struggling 4 episodes into the 8th season & it just doesn't feel the same without Michael Scott :(

It is a struggle after Michael leaves but it’s worth sticking with cause the last couple of episodes of the show are amazing.

I agree it's not as good after Micheal leaves, but I do like Robert California. It was good they went a different way with the character of the boss.

I'm not sure there is a genuinely poor episode throughout the whole run, which is not something you can say with classic sitcoms like Cheers or Frasier, especially near the end of those series.

Same here, I'm halfway through season 8. Quality really drops after Michael leaves, there are some good episodes along the way and Robert California is a good character, but it's not as good. And Andy is awful character and as manager really doesnt work. The conclusion to the series is quite good, second half of season 9 picks up but there's a real lull in between.

Yeah they ruined Andy's character completely especially in Season 9, his whole arc was pretty good up until Season 8 starting off a dick then winning people over etc. They obviously ran out of ideas so changed it all which is a shame.

By season 8 and 9 everyone is just a parody of themselves. The ending is good though but they could of equally ended it as well in Series 7.

I actually never liked Andy (Ed Helms has one of the most puncheable faces for me), so I found him mildly annoying for most of the show, and then downright awful for the past couple of seasons. Thank God for Dwight and Robert California in those past couple of seasons, in any case.

He was annoying alright. But I think he should be forgiven for all, or at least most of his sins because of that 'the good old days' moment, somehow I felt it was some pretty deep stuff.

Yeah. Robert California was one of those likable characters you didn't really want to admit to.

TBH, I thought Andy was hilarious in the first couple of seasons he was around. Just constantly annoying everyone and trying to be likable without actually being likable. It seems the office just accepted he was there and for the most part didn't accept his antics even though he tried so hard to be "a part of the group." Hilarious stuff.

Personally, I dont mind season 8 and 9. There were a few story arcs that could've been avoided like Pam and Jim going through that tough time, the Cathy bit in season 8 but all in all it was wonderful TV.
The finale remains one of the best ends to a TV show and gets me emotional every time I watch it

I rewatch it a lot and I usually stop once Michael leaves. I've watched it to the end, and there's some good episodes, but it gets a bit dicey, especially that weird storyline involving Pam and one of the documentary crew. Andy as the manager was terrible. They just started to write him as Michael Scott.

I can do without Gabe and Erin as well.

Up until Michael leaves, it is incredibly consistent, considering the sheer volume of episodes and very limited premise. Such a great show.

Yes, I forgot to mention that when I watch The Office I skip season 1. They were trying to figure it out at that point.
Basketball and Hot Girl are as good as season 2 and season 3. I hated season 1 on the first watch, but now I find it as funny as the rest.

Same. Though I still don't like the pilot, since it's essentially a shot for shot remake of an episode from the original series. The rest is good, especially the basketball episode.

Love this show. Favourite scene is the firedrill.
That's my favourite episode. Starts with fire drill, has the CPR scene and ends with Michael's roast and then Michael roasting them all

Seasons 2-4 have a whole new impact now given they could never get away with making those episodes now.

The best episode is the Booze Cruise IMO. Just the looks on everyone's faces when Micheal is dancing is one of the all-time great comedy moments

Stress relief is the best one! 40 minutes of comedy gold

The best by miles. I love the scene with Michael and Dwight at corporate afterwards

Yeah. That episode is filled with memorable sequences - Dwight setting fire in office, the meeting with Corporate, Stress relief bit and finally the roast

I actually think The Office has aged really well because the butt of all its jokes is always Michael. You're not laughing at the groups he's making offensive jokes about, you're laughing at him for being inappropriate, tone deaf, and generally terrible.

There's a podcast called "Office ladies" by Jenna Fischer (Pam) and Angela Kinsey (Angela) where they discuss the series episode by episode and behind the scene stories from those episodes. After you get used to these besties being besties too much, its actually a fun listen to reminisce about the series.

Used to love this show before it turned to shit. Funny seeing how office dress policy has changed so much relatively quickly.

Bumping this but started this whilst on covid quarantine
Already on s3 and really enjoying it

Didn't realize how many episodes there are per season (1 was short)

I like the humour around it and it's funny watching it given there's like a decade difference between when it was done and now
It helps it's a nice light 20 or so minutes which makes binging easier

Avoided reading most of the thread before this page to miss spoilers though I get a pattern that it eventually turns shit...

Nah it doesn't turn shit. It declines a bit, but it's still worth watching.

S1 is an almost 1:1 remake of the original Office, that's why it's much shorter.

I personally prefer Parks and Rec to this, but as American sitcoms go, this is still very good (last few seasons notwithstanding).
