I'm sorry but he clearly was. You'd think Paul Pogba was Zidane last 5 months of season listening to you lot.

Pogba's last PL goal came in January. Yes January.
To be fair he did score vs AC Milan, but 3 Goals and 3 Assists in 26 is pretty poor.

He is such a good player, but such a wanker when he overplays and gives fouls away.

Give him £375k a week (which includes performance targets) and sign him up for another 5 years.

Been given the MotM award. Yet people think he wasn't good today. Only some absolute wankers on here though that probably should think about supporting a different club.

Fans and players got it wrong then on the club awards?

Clearly should have been Pogba with his amazing two PL goals in the second half of the season. That's an afternoon's work for Bruno.

Your bias towards Pogba is laughable at this stage. Mctomminay scored more goals last season than he did and he only got 6 assists. What was so amazing about him?
I can't believe that someone who watch football can still use argument about goals and assists when talking about central midfielders. For you midfielders like Modric, Kante and Xavi are average too?

If he wants to stay keep him, if he wants out let him go or sell for a modest fee to get something and build for the future.

Whether you're pro or against keeping Pogba I think what's most frustrating is the lack of ruthlessness and/or conviction in handling these matters by the club. If he's not doing showing commitment to a new contract then you have your answer, it's that simple for me.

Brilliant. Can we buy a DM so we can play a real Midfield 3 next season and not McFred?
And where would Bruno play? Pogba had licence to attack more with Rabiot and Kante with him.

Tell me how he works with Bruno as a 10? You'd encounter similar issues in my opinion

Bruno could easily play the Griezmann role

Very good tonight. That's the kind of performance we'd be getting if he wasn't surrounded by shite like McFred.

Kante or Varane were probably MOTM but Pogba was very good himself tonight, not perfect but very good

He's not that type of player though. He doesn't make a team tick like Xavi or Modric. He doesn't do the defensive work Kante does.

So he needs to be giving us more of a goal threat and afterall, he's absolutely capable of that.

Goals and assists don't say it all but for some players they have to be part of the discussion.

Blamed a heavy touch by Pogba for the offside on the second goal
Wasn't watching on ITV and Pogba had a brilliant game, but that's true. That pass was on as soon as the ball was coming to Pogba with all the time and space in the world, and Mbappe made his run accordingly. The offside was because Pogba took absolutely forever to get the ball under control and release the pass. Nothing 'harsh' about that assessment.

You'd move Bruno out of his best position? This is absolute madness  Griezmann moved right today to cater for Benzema.

Honestly such mad posts in this forum.

Bruno can play mc. Bruno and Pogba with top class dmc and attacking manager would work fantastic

Most touches and passes for France
Helped create the goal and nearly caused two more
Most aerials won (4)
Same amount as tackles as Kanté (2)
1 more interception than Kanté (3)

He also said Pogba is terrific for France and praised him for 2 particular long balls, one of which led to the goal.

You can pick and choose your examples to suggest a fake narrative or you can look at everything alley said and realized he's not out for blood against Pogba.

So again you move Bruno into a deeper role to try and accommodate Pogba. Bruno isn't really a flat CM. He's a 10, keep him there.

Pogba is good but not so fecking good that we build a team around him. Shaw Maguire and Bruno are our best players who are actually committed to the club. Again some posts today are just madness.

An honest answer?

For teams below the top 6 I play 433 with Bruno and Pogba as numbers 8s.

Tactically you can test with Bruno having more freedom etc but knowing if Pogba goes he might need to sit for a moment. Unpredictability can be a good thing.

It might hurt Bruno's number but overall be good for the team.

For the majority of games with a new DM I reckon that's better than what we are doing now.

If needed in the games versus the top 6 we can look at going 4231 etc.

All I know if McFred or Fred and a new DM etc isn't going to get us to the top. That midfield pair we play is a major thing holding us back.

Was he balls. Bruno was better in first half and second half of season. As was Shaw. Easily.
I have to disagree. I agree with your sentiment of people over playing Pogbas brillance the second half of the season when he has simply been decent and good at times. But take away those decisive moment and Fernandes has actually been very poor thesecond half of the season and far sloppier than Pogba which is something Pogba gets aimed at him very often and rightly so.
How Fernandes got player of the season this past year is beyond me personally. I think he has actually been very much a similar player in terms of giving the ball away badly and not playing to hs potential consistently that we criticise Pogba for

Yes Bruno scored an incredible 7 goals from January from an attacking position. 4 of those weren’t from open play and one was a massive deflection I’d be embarrassed to be credited for it. Leaves two goals from a forward player that weren’t penalties and a shitload of poor performances

Bruno's position is all over the place. Sometimes second striker, sometimes a lot deeper. He can play in a midfield three with a proper DM as much as ok the Griezmann role today.

After a game like that, if you're coming in here to try and temper any hype about Pogba (who is indeed our own fecking player), that says it all.

Playing Bruno and Pogba as two central midfielders is only going to work in a very well coached system where we barely give the ball away. That's the only way it worked for the likes of say, KDB and B Silva.

Ole doesn't coach such systems and neither of those players, as good as they are, retain the ball quite as well. They are more direct in their play so planting them BOTH at CM will ask for trouble.

Some very good moments, still some sloppy ones even in a France shot, his touc and realease was poor for a simple part of play with that offside goal. I do think his performances for France get overhyped far more than for us actually.

Dont get me wrong, he was good overall today just as he was in the world cup they won.......but Kante and Varane were the best players on the pitch today

Well we need to progress. Our system is limited to how far it can get us! Two limited DMs is well very limiting.

If we play two DMs they need to be very very good on the ball. Ours aren't.

10s tend to drift but to be clear, Griezmann was very much part of a front 3. Bruno isn't a player who will play on the left over Rashford nor on the right over Sancho. He'd likely play in his best position which is 10, with licence to roam.
