Post number #823..

I thought that Dortmund and Sancho had a 'gentleman's agreement' in place that would allow him to join United depending on both club's agreeing on the transfer fee.. whatever that maybe.. I'd guess between £70 million & £80 million.. Hopefully i think we'll pay out closer to the £70 million mark.

I really hope he is as good as many think.

It's not just the high fee, it's the 2 summers of pursuit during covid have now made expectations higher.

If he isn't as advertised this could set the club back a long way. Losing money during a pandemic then throwing huge money about could piss off our already stingy owners.

We've been burnt twice by Bundesliga signings so I am only cautiously optimistic as of now.

I will be supportive and hope he is a success though. Just hard to be excited when I've only seen him sparingly and when I did he was meh. He also isn't left footed and a traditional wing role these days is difficult without immense pace and power.

Rashford s surgery for the beginning of the season will provide a huge opportunity for him.
more than twice, Kagawa, Mkhi, Bastian fecking Schweinsteiger i would even say Hardgreaves was a burn

Pretty sure Sancho is higher rated than Kagawa and Mikhi when we signed both, and Bastian was just a washed out player we signed to Louis fecking Van Gaal wanting him.

Gonna be honest can't wait to see the three man attack of Rashford, Cavani and Sancho.

With Greenwood still developing next years attack will be a great watch.

Such control and variation in his dribbling. He’s going to commit defenders and destroy them while freeing up space on the overlap for Shaw / AWB/ Bruno and Cavani is going to spank in 30 goals!

One of the young Galacticos of world football. Camavinga next!

Haaland next year :)

Maybe the "add-ons" difference that is being quoted differently in UK and Germany is that we have agreed the £72.9m fee with Dortmund.

However we have also agreed to pay the "sell on fee" due to Man City on Dortmund's behalf.

Us sending it to City will be cheaper than both clubs losing money on a currency conversion.

So we can say £72.9m with "no add-ons" to Dortmund. Meanwhile Dortmund can claim this fee, plus their commitment to pay City taken off their books?

No-ones lying, and both sides can claim a victory.

Great news. Best signing we've made in years, an actual, real life right winger.

Now who's next?

This is probably what's happening. Dortmund look like they held strong and United look like not getting Sancho last summer has knocked the price down considerably. Good PR for both teams

The club won’t confirm this on a day the Euros is being played. They will want the transfer to get all the attention, no distraction with live games.

It’ll be confirmed on Wednesday or Thursday, in between the Round of 16 finishing and the Quarter Finals starting.
Told you so.

Kajumba:

After long-running discussions which have taken place over the last two summers, Dortmund accepted United’s third offer of this window which will see them pay the £72.9m spread over four years with no further add-ons.

not sure how your post relates to mine. Maybe i missunderstood the original context of being burnt by german players in the past

What's Martial got to do with that number ?
Why is Martial even in the sentence?
I mean in the sense that if Martial leaves, Cavani would take 9 which would free up 7 for Sancho. I don't think he'll be going anywhere though. More likely in 12 months time Cavani will leave and Sancho will get the 7 then.

It never does. The stock gets no volume from traders and no one outside of United fans give a shit or even know who Sancho is.
I don't know why they even went public. Did they put the IPO funds to good use? Or did they somehow just get funneled to the Glazers?

I hope he takes the left side, let Mason grow on the right until takes over Cavani's spot. I'm just worried Rashford will be played ahead of Greenwood

That's not possible since if it's the case means we are paying £84m aka €98m. £73m x 115% is £84m.

That's more than €90m

Martin Edwards took the club public and the stock bombed, could hardly give the shares away. I think United even got knocked out of Europe the day they IPO'd and not even United fans gave a shit about it
