Rashford - Greenwood - Sancho seems too good to be true
Which one will play on the left? Both Rash and Sancho prefer that flank. Who do you see playing through the middle when Cavani doesn’t play?

Nice conundrum and will need some good management

Why so hostile? Can you imagine that BVB did not want to let Sancho go last year? Sancho helped a lot with the CL qualification this year, this alone is worth a lot more than the difference to last year. The soccer world changed as well, look at the other transfers this year, nothing big above 30 Mio € yet (with the exception of Sancho of course), Barcelona in shambles, Bayern even with a lot of money is not doing anything big, Mbappe leaves PSG without even a fee, you can't compare pre Corona with Corona, because I can assure you that 5 years earlier we would have gotten the 120 Mio.

Anyway, good luck with him, don't treat BVB as hostile, because they want a lot of money for their star player. Which team wouldn't?
That poster has history. You should see what happens when you say something slightly negative about Paul Pogba. Especially after he gave the ball away leading to the equaliser a few days ago.

Ignore him.

I wonder what City is thinking about this. Must be a bitter pill for their fans to swallow.

No they didn't. Thats rewriting history. We were constantly told that many top sides would be in for him this summer and they would get their 120m.
Who told you? I'm not sure where you're getting this from but everyone understood they would not get the same fee for him next season but still get a good free, which they have (90 mil EUR), while also keeping him for one more season.

From every German fan posting random links who ever stepped foot on here! If i never see the words "120m is reasonable because top clubs finances will have recovered by next summer and Sancho will still have 2 years left on his contract so Dortmund will still hold all the cards" strung together again it'll be too soon.

Yeah, it worked well for Dortmund as Sancho played very important role in CL qualification which is very important for finances and also cup win. It also worked well for us as we finished in good position and strengthened the team for smaller fee compared to last season.

Also don't think you would have got 120 million 5 seasons ago, we signed Pogba 5 seasons ago and that was record breaking deal for us and PL. It was 3rd highest fee If I'm not wrong, after Ronaldo and Bale. That was before PSG signed Neymar so 100 million was very rare 5 seasons ago.

Can't wait for the rivers of salt once Sancho underperformes and the Caf starts cursing out Dortmund for fleecing them yet again.

Barca threw about £130m at Dortmund for Dembele about 5 years ago, so I suppose it stands to reason that they might have done the same if this version of Sancho was available instead back then.

It’s a reaction to the German fans here last year and BD trolling last year and just repeatedly dragging United into the mud with constant press releases.

Your comments are warmly received and many thanks for wishing him well, hopefully we do look after him and help him continue his development

Strong title challenge and a domestic trophy at the absolute minimum. Plus a good showing in the CL.
That seems quite reasonable.

At the risk of slightly derailing the thread, have you been strongly linked with any other players that could realistically arrive this summer?

Reading a quote from John Barnes about consistency and lack there of, god I hate him so much but he’s right, nice to have Sancho now but go get a solid CB to partner Maguire and a Solid DCM, someone good enough to avoid constantly playing McTom & Fred most games. Then we have no excuses

A similar sort of showing to this season, really. Probably a bit more consistency. I expect us to challenge for the title, but I don't genuinely think we can win it, to be honest. I'm just not convinced Ole, and still some of these players, have it in them to go that extra mile from being a team who play good football in bunches to becoming a consistent machine over the course of 38 matches. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic. I don't mean to dog on Solskjaer, I do like the guy, but I just think there's a tier he's not in in comparison to Klopp, Pep, and Tommy Too Cool.

Stilll... Varane + Sancho + a new CM (feck knows who, someone who can pass and has positional discipline) is the manager very much backed, and a title challenge should be the bare minimum. A Carabao or an FA Cup wouldn't go amiss either. It's a hotly contested topic on Redcafe, but we've not a trophy since 2017.

Those rivers of salt wouldn't come close to the river of your salt currently. Weep more.

Don't worry, you will get your next shiny toy from Dortmund at a discount.

Strongest rumours seem to be Varane. Get him and a defensive midfielder and this window will be a huge success.

You should be careful because that toy might end up being Haaland
Chelsea have already started groundwork on Haaland. If city don't get Kane then they will be in it too. It's hard for me to think that he will choose us over all the top clubs that will be vying for his signature next year. So better Bayern than any of our domestic rivals :)

Sancho alone won't deliver that imo, he might turn some of the draws into wins but we need the defence (and if Pogba goes the midfield) sorted before we should realistically think we're good enough to challenge for the league

Would love Haaland here if only he changed his agent. Whoever does sign him will end up paying Riaola and his dad more than Dortmund themselves!

Never going to happen, given the price he'll command. You better grab him before City or Chelsea do because I doubt any other clubs bar PSG will be able to afford him.

You can bet on that most of the top clubs have already done the groundwork for Haaland, including United. There are many factors to why he would choose United also, don't really see why some on here are ruling United out of the equation.

Because he can pretty much choose any club in the world and we haven't won a trophy since 2017 and the league title for a decade

I guess when you watch the Bundesliga you have to find other sources of entertainment.

I said its hard for me to think. Nothing is ruled out until Haaland signs for a club.

Its going to be a genuine war next summer to get Haaland, I can see reports of multiple clubs paying the release clause and it'll be down to who does the best deal with the devil to get him
