See, if you had just said what Pogba is wearing makes him look stupid, nobody would bat an eye and many would agree.

Its the same as choosing between saying Matic looks:

A) suave af/dressed to kill;
B) like a KGB operative.

One is likely to cause offense the other isn't, I would suggest that they both meant the same thing though.
You'd think at his age he would have grown up and started to wear 'proper' clothes.

This doesn't feel like posturing for a new contract anymore does it? Starting to feel like it's actually possible he joins.

Just Varane and Sancho would make this the best summer window for ages in my opinion. If we add a midfielder too then it's Title challenge time all the way. There can be no excuses.
We'd still be far behind City in squad quality, allowing them to rotate/cover injuries better.

Varane helps keep Pogba IMO. French-speaking, quality addition, shows our intent that we want to push on and win trophies. Think he has more chance with us than with Madrid who is in massive transition and has a very poor squad.

Would be funny if we try to sell Pogba when for once he doesn't want to go.

This is how I see it and what I hope would happen.

A player like Varane allows us to play a higher line imo, which will benefit us and a midfield that I hope includes Pogba.

Because Haaland will probably cost us 130m+ euro's + his high wages + dad's commission + his snake agent commission - that's almost 200m
Next summer you'll have competition on Mbappe from Madrid(minimum) and probably others.
Take that into consideration and tell me where do you push in a CDM and a 2nd RB and maybe(just maybe) another midfielder instead of Pogba in here ?
Calm down, thought it was clear I was being fanciful by saying going full muppet at the start, but playing devils advocate....

Haaland has a release clause for half the price you quoted next summer so the commissions will simply push it up to what you'd probably call a reasonable price overall. Who said we wouldn't have competition for Mbappe, every big club in Europe will be after him on a free. Not arguing on the wages as I already said we'd somehow have to reconcile them within our wage structure.

A CDM could hopefully be taken care of this summer if we're lucky, with a relatively cheap option (Tchouameni or Camavinga if we persist with double pivot) or if we sell Pogba a not so cheap option (Rice). I don't think we need a 2nd RB with Dalot ready for this season and Laird in the wings after another loan or two.

Don't be afraid to let your muppet flag fly.

Maybe so but at least we would have only one area left to sort in the first XI which would be replacing Eddy next summer

If we were to believe all the CB rumours, it is really looking likely that United may not have (fierce) competitions for Varane, or any for that matter now that Ramos is close to joining PSG.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan
It's fair to say the delays weren't down to our marketing team coming up with a great reveal or introduction video.
To be fair though, it's hard when he's away with England and they have had to release something as the whole world and his dog has already announced it.

Piss off, you baldy twa—hang on, he’s saying something positive about us. Maybe. Go on, Dunc..
It's alright, he'll caveat it by questioning the effectiveness of Varane under Ole's naive and inexperienced managerial wing, and also that he'll be playing next to Harry Maguire who hasn't justified the record fee for a defender Man Utd paid for him.

Oh, yeah, and criticise Luke Shaw's positioning.

The article also says we have don't have substantial funds after this. It wouldn't be surprising if further transfers are reliant on sales now.
That's hard to believe though when we're spreading 77m over 5 payments.

Also talk of signing Varane has really expedited over the last several hours and judging by the reports it's more closer to happening than not and at €50M

Or it just backs up that we aren't flush with cash to spend. Which would hardly be surprising after a year of no crowds.

Sign Varane and Rice and we might actually have a chance to mount a legitimate title challenge for the first time since Fergie left.

But that is the level of investment it will require, Sancho is fantastic but wont change the status quo by himself

Very confident we still get a CB but anything else like a DM/CM or backup RB is definitely dependent on sales
