Reading a couple of stories today in danish media that danish families with children were spat at and harrassed at Wembley yesterday. One were running to the police.

There's too many incidents like this than just be the odd few idiots. There's a culture about acting dicks and thinking it's perfectly fine in England.

There's so little class about the english fanbase, it's so neanderthal, so classless even when they win, and then on top of that they can't understand why no one is rooting for them. I can't even recall reading one classy english-fan post here on the caf after the win. Plenty of other nations fans are being nice, but on the caf it's no problem if you boo a team's anthem and act like trash with lasers. Against Germany it was 40.000 people at Wembley Cheering while a crying 7 year old german girl appeared on the big screen at the stadium. It's cultural.

Really hope they lose. Of course they wont though. Like yesterday, no ref at Wembley dare stand up to the shitshow and act like a referee actually should.

Forza Italia.

I expect a very tight game between two very good sides. Been very impressed with Italy from day one, they have been the best team in the tournament this year, I think England will prove to be their toughest test yet as England have a home advantage. I’m leaning to England at the moment just about because we are getting the run of the green which we haven’t had in the past and we look very resilient. Going for a 1-0 win to England.

All being said, I wouldn’t be too upset if England lost. Italy are my favourite international team so it would be cool to see them win it if England don’t.

It was just a typical xenophobic bitter shite post.

There's no point debating with posters that post that sort of stuff.
Xenophobic? I am actually laughing over that comment. Do you even know the meaning of the word? I am quoting real things that happened, also bigger situations to show there is a culture around acting a dick. You don't believe these situations to have happened?

didn’t see anything like that.

At the end of the match we left, and were filtered into the Danish supporters, as they were underneath us. Only one issue I saw on Wembley way, a couple of drunk kids (edit, who had clearly not been to the game) shouted at one out the Danish supporters, and a number of English lads grabbed them and gave them a rollicking.

Clearly my experience is only from one fan there last night, and I can’t comment on the entire crowd.

Taking a stand against hated by cheering a team from a country where fans refuse to stop making money noises is an interesting position

Maybe hatred against black people isn’t as bad as *checks notes* booing an anthem for you

World Cup 2018 was the real eye opener for me.

How fecking bitter and desperate people were for England to fail. So all this doesn't surprise me anymore.
Brexit hasn't helped but always amuses me the foreign fans getting in a right old state whenever mention of that song, does it really wind up people that much?! I mean a few England fans who were watching Italy-Spain on Tuesday started chanting it's coming home and most of the ground then started whistling it.

Very much a case of the lyrics and sentiment gets a bit lost in translation.

Another very reliable newspaper have other incidents reported - some outtakes from this article:
Attacking a bus with families, punching a family father in the stomach (while trying to appease / be nice to the abusers and congratulating them with the win), english fans spitting at danish fans (at least 4 children-incidents and that's just from the two articles I've read), one english fan trying to start a fight in the danish fan-section, bottles being thrown at fanbusses, verbal abuse, the standard "go back to where you came from" chants, calling familymothers whores. Pretty much every possible sort of abuse being reported.

Honestly can we have one thread without the bollocks?

Gotta be honest, no fan of Italy's antics in politics at all. I might be biased but these things I put up here happened yesterday, and Im danish, so for football matters, I just root for Italy. Had you been behaving nicely as fans, Id have rooted for you. In fact I've always rooted for England as my 2nd team, but the behaviour of some fans here is just too much. It's not even football.

I just watch the football. Not measuring which country has the bigger cnuts within their fan base or even worse what’s the state of the politics of a country. Seems weird to me.

Cheers, for at least nuancing the view with a personal experience, although there are quite the amount of reports in the danish media today. Your reply is actually the first non-vile/non stupid english fan comment I have had on a post here. So, cheers for that.

That’s understandable. It’s precisely because of the neo-nazi element of Danish supports, such as the ‘ultras’ that would mean I too would be supporting Italy.

I guess for your county this is cultural but abhorrent to me

It’s a real shame to hear.

the only other thing I saw actually, was a bit of good natured banter during the VAR check. The translation of Check Over or Check End does not translate well into English. Flashing that up on the screen caused a bit of chanting until the game resumed.

Fighting a lost case now mate. Didn’t see, one nutter, few pints, banter, xenophobic etc will be thrown at you.

If however one English kid is spat at abroad during the tournament there would be riots, the Queen would be phoning the Pope  ahh, and the whole. Denmark would be classified as backward thugs.

Like there are riots when English fans have literally been murdered abroad?

Hint, there were no riots.

So erm the game then.

Italy are favourites for me since I see England being second best in the midfield battle. Italy's strikers aren't all that though and their obvious threat seems to source from Chiesa playing an inverted role on the left. Could see Southgate opting for Saka again to help Walker deal with him. Can also see England going back to a 3 or 5 at the back (whichever way you consider it) to counteract Italy's expected midfield dominance. I actually think Kane will be handled quite well by Italy's experienced CBs (I seem to remember Chiellini firmly having him in his pocket in the Juve-Spurs game from a couple seasons ago), so I think England's threat would be from Sterling making those runs from their left hand side (I don't really rate Di Lorenzo).

Should be a good game, but I think England will fall short - 2-1 or 1-0 to Italy. If it does go to a shootout then I'd fancy the Italians too, Donnarumma vs Pickford is hardly a matchup.

I think it’s time we got this back on track. This is a thread about the final. Issues from last nights game are valid, and should be discussed - but better elsewhere.

This should be a look forward. Hopefully to a great game.

Pickford isn’t bad on pens actually. Donnarumma has a fantastic record although not as good as Dean Henderson’s, although Henderson has faced less.
