There has been no other country during this tournament that behaved this way. The only reason why you think it is "just English fans" is because you visit a website (redcafe) where English news is most prominent and are therefore exposed to all the good and all the ugly. If you were to visit a website with a user base largely from another country, the news would be skewed similarly. The best example of that is reddit, where the news is primarily skewed towards America.

I'll say it again, I'm getting fed up with three lions (What the song used to be called). But holy shit it's funny how it's wound people up for the last 3 years! No foreign people took offence to this song for the first 23 years of it's life.

I have not ignored it. But you have ignored the French fans behaviour during the world cup under similar circumstances. It is clear you hate England and that is why you refuse to acknowledge it is a broader issue for all countries.
Personally, I'm not really talking about the song but about all the other stuff. Under different circumstances, the song/chant would be interpreted in a much more positive light, I believe. It's actually quite popular over here - but the way things have went it just fits very well into the self-entitled and arrogant image that England has given during this tournament.

But yes. I don't like Italy either with the history of racism in football there in recent years, I just know I'll have to deal with less of the shitty stuff when they won as opposed to if England had.
It definitely is unfair, but football is all about emotions in my view, I get happy when United do well and then i celebrate. When the Danes had to struggle against adversity with losing their best player in the first game, in a life threatening situation I assume we all had an emotional moment and all wished Eriksen well, and then got a tiny bit of hope for Denmark because of the story if they had made it all the way (this might not apply to those of you who actually had a team you hoped for already, but since I don't have a national team i follow I was hoping for their story).
So I judge fanbases, countries and clubs by their best and worst as long as it is mainly around football as entertainment. Outside of football i try my best to remove emotions from the equation more, but in football It spices things up and feels natural to me, even if it doesn't make much sense.

It just largely comes from british/irish fans who hate England for (many) historical reasons. The England football team becomes a good outlet for this hate. They would find a way to hate England if they played like angels and knocked the ball about like Brazil '82.

I'm describing how it comes across to me outside England. I thought the song title was cool in 1996 because England was welcoming the other nations as guests and it's message to me was 'here it all started, we've got the stadiums, we've got the atmosphere, we're proud to be your hosts'. This time it was more like a claim on the cup an appropriation of the tournement, it's our party now because we need it more than you all. A bit more acknowledgement that England didn't host the tournament but had an exceptional home advantage would have gone down well. When a country hosts the whole tournament the country tends to take pride in welcoming the visitors and showing them a good time and throw them a part. I didn't see much of that, it was more like they were uninvited and unwelcome guests with the English absorbed by themselves. That changes the tone of the song.

To be fair, a lot of people might have not heard the rest of the song, especially anyone who is not from England so all they're hearing is "It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming, football's coming home". In isolation, that sounds pretty arrogant and cocky so you can't really blame people for "missing the joke". Even most people from England probably dont remember the rest of the lyrics.
Doesn't help that certain pundits got overly carried away.
Rio saying during the Italy Spain game that nothing he sees out there will threaten England (despite that probably being one of the highest levels of football played at the tournament). He was banging on about how none of these players would get into the England team (um... the Italy keeper would like to say hello?).
When the dive/soft penalty was given against Denmark, I remember some pundits (Alan Shearer) were saying it was soft and others (Jenas) saying it was stonewall. Then you had idiots like Dixon who when asked if it was a pen or dive, he responds "I don't care" but constantly complaining when other player dive. The double standards from morons like him were annoying.
