This has all been a bit too simple hasn't it? I like it, but not much of a saga.
Too simple for a united signing. Imagine only taking a couple days to prepare a bid. Who do we think we are... City?! Pah!!

at least we're taking an extremely long time to announce transfers that are done and dusted, so we haven't completely lost our way.

Think the investors will be very very dissapointed. Imagine how many more millions of interactions they are missing out on.

Think he genuinly wants to try out PL as well and RM has come to a natural end.

Really like a guy that seeks a new challenge to freshen it up.
I mean the guy has won 4 CLs. The fact that he isn't in the mood to chill in the MLS is good for me.

Has anyone post this? This guy is Real Madrid's tier 2 and apparently the first one who reported that Real won't sign anyone last year.

Isnt @ChaddyP our resident Jamaican? Can you confirm the delegation is legit. Are we sure it's a full moon? Not a total eclipse of the heart?

I dont think I could take that. Im in too deep. Varana has to come. :(

Tbf he's been solid as usual, as a unit our defense last year wasn't all that good, we had to chop and change a few times and that destructed our flow especially our wingback positions, but if I'm to say on individual levels Varane was the least of our problems as he was mostly reliable when fit.

NOTE;

He's lost a yard of pace as is to expected with age, still he out runs most strikers who's name are not Mbappe, he's also made up for the yard of pace loss with his reading of the game and positional awareness, gose into most challenges with clear intentions of pinching it and he's likely to comes out on top 8/10.

He's one of those players if injured needs a couple of games to get into rhythm as you noticed with France, he was injured for sometime before rushed back for UCL game with Chelsea last May then straight into a major tournament.

Lastly when he's up to speed he's an unbelievable defender who can bully attackers, out pace them, Win arial duals, put in a last ditch block if it comes to that and is comfortable on the ball, passing out of the back with either feet.
Interesting to hear that. Thank you

Can’t wait to get the authentic shirt with “Varane 4” on the back. Phil Jones can take the vacant 44 shirt, a number more in keeping with his standing and incidentally also the amount of games he’s played in his 10 yrs at the club…..

Not even remotely correct and truly punching down at this point. Do better.
Jones is at best a crock who’s done feck all for the club while becoming a millionaire from it at the same time. How is it possible to punch down on that?

According to Romano, Varane would loooove to play in the PL, he would looooove to play for Manchester United. Dealio done.
feels like the type of thing Woody will take advantage of to save 50p

Haven't been following the thread. Why are we not concerned Madrid will propose a ridiculous fee and we will walk?
Seemingly we’re the only one interested in paying the already ridiculous fee of €50 M for a player available on a free next year

A ridiculous fee would be 50m for Ben White, 50m for Rafa Varane is a shrewd move by any angle you look at it given the current market realities.

Contract length often has little bearing on a players value to their side, it's why Madrid were happy paying 160m for Hazard even when he had less than a year left on his contract

Exactly. I’ve been saying this, which is why I think it will be more like 60m instead of 50m the journos have guessed at.

I seem to recall a certain lowered price for a Dortmund winger? And 50m for Ben White is partly because he has 3 years left on his contract. Im not saying 50m isnt a ok price, but dont think many would pay much more than that if you factor in his wage demands

How much would Varane cost with 3 years left?

In the end it makes little difference because if United manage to get Varane for the same price Arsenal shell out on White, they’re getting a much better player and therefore a better deal.

Your talking £75 mill pounds, thereabouts.

This price we’re supposedly bidding, like you’ve pointed out, is therefore heavily discounted because of the one year left on his contract.
