Why loan? Sell him, ffs. We have 4 defenders and we can get very good price for him
A decent loan makes sense for me, hopefully get plenty of playing time throughout the season, still loads of potential in Axel.

so you wouldnt want him on that basis?
Rashford was horrible for 50% of the season and likely to miss start of the season, Martial even worse and Pogba wants out....
if pogba goes it would be an option for me but imo rashy has it all to nail down the left spot. dont forget that he played through an injury for most of the season. he did quite well for that imo

I'm excited to see how well he can do or if he'll be a short flop in the PL, just glad it's not at United. Him, Silva and Rudiger is a formidable back 3. With Azpilicueta and Christensen backing it up. Chilwell and James as wing backs.

I like Rice but I’d prefer us to go for Ndidi. Don’t think we’ve been linked to him in a while but I think he’d be the perfect defensive mid signing.

Whoever is mentioning those figures that you posted
I don't know how highly Sevilla value Kounde, but rumours have it at around £50m so my guess is we'll end up paying between £30-35m plus Zouma which would put his valuation at £15-20m. I personally think we could sell him for more than that in a separate sale but oh well.

Real offered Varane more than United.
That proposal was worth more than the four-year contract he eventually agreed with United, which is understood to be worth around £20 million annually including image rights and bonuses.

Obviously the club still think he can come good which isn't at all unreasonable.
Because he's only 23 and very talented.

I agree about his talent and all. But our problem all these years is that we keep too long every player who "might" be useful one day. And sometimes you need to sell in right time.
Big picture is; all our defenders are in their prime. We have undisputed first pair in Varane-Maguire. We have Lindelof-Bailly as backup.
So unless our plan is to sell one of them next year, why to keep Axel? Sometimes you just need to risk and sell young player for good fee. If you are unsure, throw in bayback clause.

I would sell Baily because there's next to no chance of him being a solid Manchester United defender. He's made of glass and inconsistent on top. I wouldn't sell Tuanzebe ahead of him.
