Thoughts on Emile Smith Rowe (5.5)?
I think I’d still have one of the Brentford duo of Canos or Mbeumo ahead of him just cause it’s Arsenal. Also if they get Odegaard he is going to be rotated.Thoughts on Emile Smith Rowe (5.5)?
Where’d you get that from?If Sanchez is seriously injured it opens up for some interesting drafts.
Steele (if he is first choice) Bachmann
Shaw TAA White Ayling Veltman
Mahrez Son Raphinha Salah 4.5
Cavani Watkins Toney
Now Cavani and Mahrez if they start the first 3 games could be deadly. Long term I will sell them for form players in midfield and attack.
Mahrez to Sancho I have my eyes on for example.
I like a stronger def though, but having 4 top players up fronts feels pretty good. Toney is the weakness since I have poor options to rotate him with.
Arsenal is surely more capable than Brentford? Do agree re Odegaard.I think I’d still have one of the Brentford duo of Canos or Mbeumo ahead of him just cause it’s Arsenal. Also if they get Odegaard he is going to be rotated.
I think Brentford are more attacking. I won’t be surprised if they pull a Leeds this year. Leeds has lesser “talent” than Arsenal did but were the better attacking team.Arsenal is surely more capable than Brentford? Do agree re Odegaard.
Leeds won 18 games and scored 62 goals. Brentford won’t get anywhere near that.I think Brentford are more attacking. I won’t be surprised if they pull a Leeds this year. Leeds has lesser “talent” than Arsenal did but were the better attacking team.
Took a knock playing against my boys Luton, it was because of a dumb move from Burn.Sanchez is injured???
Wins maybe not. But I think they are entertaining and they can score 45-50 goals this season.Leeds won 18 games and scored 62 goals. Brentford won’t get anywhere near that.
No offense but your entire team except your defense is weak. Not sure if you’re a Leicester fan but no guarantee Maddison, Fofana, James and Pulisic start every week and Chelsea have a terrible start to the season. Their first 6 fixtures aren’t the easiest. And you’re going with just one striker?
Alright boys thanks for making me realize the obvious.. latest draft..You're putting a lot of stock into Leicester. You have Schmeichel and Fofana... Leicester were 10th for best defensive stats last season and you get no attacking threat from Fofana, who might not even play if Leicester setup with 2 CBs (Evans and Soyuncu). You have a pretty weak bench and have Maddison, James and Pulisic in your team. Maddison may be going Arsenal and even if he doesn't, Leicester have so many attacking players now, it's impossible to guess how they'll set up. Pulisic and James are injury magnets and combined with your lack of bench, it's a disaster waiting to happen.
My advice? Downgrade James and Pulisic and upgrade to at least 2 strikers and some bench players that will play.
True, although I assume most of his goals came from set pieces, so not sure exactly how much JLingz could have affected that? Also, are West Ham trying to at least replace JLingz?
That's a much better team.Alright boys thanks for making me realize the obvious.. latest draft..
Ederson (Foster)
TAA Fofana Shaw Digne (Manquilo)
Salah Gundogan Bruno James (Bissouma)
Watkins Antonio (Obafemi)
Bench still kinda weak but I feel like I make some changes on the way after GW1.. I really wanted Greenwood in there in place of James but if he starts off the bench then I’m done.. I’m going to risk James for GW1 and see what role he plays.. Richarlison & Siggy are out so James has to play a pivotal role alongside DCL
I'm starting with him if they don't sign Odegaard or someone else. Been given the number 10 shirt, great end to last year and nailed atm. If he starts well everybody will have him in by the Norwich game.Anybody taking ESR from Arsenal.. wait a bit.. I want him too but if you want a strong start then you have to wait to bring in punts like him..
They also have Gallas number 10 so I wouldn't put too much stock into thatI'm starting with him if they don't sign Odegaard or someone else. Been given the number 10 shirt, great end to last year and nailed atm. If he starts well everybody will have him in by the Norwich game.
Assist machine, has previous EPL experience, had a great championship season last year, in a much better team and is a cheap enabler. That's the kind of punt I'm ok with. What's with the Buendia love?
TouchéThey also have Gallas number 10 so I wouldn't put too much stock into that
Nice and well researched post. To add an average of the forwards you mention (if we take away the very worst 2 seasons (Jimmy's injury season and Antonio's 11 pts season) it is 142 points on average. maybe the range/variance is around 30 pts depending on who you pick, so somewhere between 110 to 170 pts.Can someone help me with this thoughts I'm having?
From my times playing this game I'm seeing the consensus that most people like to use 343.
But I've been wondering why no more people using 442, because for me I prefer to spend money on 4th defender than 3rd attacker.
I'll try to compare between the popular 7.0-7.5m Forward and 5.5-6.0m Defender and their historical point from past seasons
Forwards
Wood - 138/136/131pts
Adams - 137pts
Wilson - 134/116/168pts
Richarlison - 123/165/153/125pts (Playing as mid before last season)
Antonio - 118/11/118pts
Iheanacho - 110pts
Watkins - 168pts
Jimenez - 43/194/181pts (Injured last season)
Defenders
AWB - 144/127/120 pts
Maguire - 124/123/92/117 pts
Shaw - 124 pts (seems to always injured the seasons before so only got little minutes)
Dias - 142pts
Cancelo - 138 pts
Digne - 120/120/158 pts
Azpi - 113/130/158/175/170/124/132/109/100 pts (I think the most consistent one)
Chilwell - 139/114/118 pts
As you can see, I think generally both will get similar 120-140pts. Even though FWD have much higher ceiling, but I think not many will have season like Bamford, Watkins, or Jimenez debut where they exceed our expectation.
So instead getting 7/7.5m FWD and 4.5m DEF, isn't it better to get 5.5/6m DEF+ 4.5m bench fodder FWD?
You can use the extra 1-2 mil for boosting other position. Or even picking TAA/Robertson/Van Dijk who have been getting 160+ points for the past 3 seasons.
I think the downside of picking the extra defender is you basically only have 2 outfield bench because currently there are no playing 4.5m FWD. But that also be mitigated by upgrading into 5.5m FWD.
That actually isn’t a bad idea. I just replaced Toney with Robertson. The latter will our score the former provided they play the full season. My bench was shit to begin with then before the change. Can someone help me with this thoughts I'm having?

Yup with 5.5 you can easily get starting defender from all the top team (probably bar Man City because of Pep Guardiola is my idol)Nice and well researched post. For a 4.5 / 5.5 defender to get 110-140 pts is not impossible, i.e one of Burnley's seasons or just say Shaw this season could be possible. For me the most important is they can have a chance each match to either score or keep a clean sheet.
Well now your team almost identical to mineThat actually isn’t a bad idea. I just replaced Toney with Robertson. The latter will our score the former provided they play the full season. My bench was shit to begin with then before the change.
Agree. Lot of "you must have 352, 343", pick the team that you think will get the pointsCan someone help me with this thoughts I'm having?

I would be tempted to make yourself Covid-proof and upgrade Obafemi to Welbeck so you have all starters on your bench!Bachman Foster
TAA Robertson Shaw Digne Ayling
Salah Sancho Raphinha Bowen Buendia
Watkins Toney Obafemi
With £1.5m in the bank and absolutely no idea how to use it for now.. I think I will make many changes.
For me, you need a playing bench. Even if there are 2 point merchants. That bench is still pretty poor isn't it?! Or is it just me?
Completely. For me, you need a playing bench. Even if there are 2 point merchants.
I've got him mate, and Deeney. What’s people’s thinking on Joshua King for Watford I’ve thrown him in instead of Pukki, for a gamble..
A double Watford attack!?? You are a brave manI've got him mate, and Deeney.
I’ve a feeling he’ll start up front for Watford and be their main man, hopefully he goes on a goal scoring binge to start the season..I've got him mate, and Deeney.
One will be on the bench.A double Watford attack!?? You are a brave man
Not bad, although I don't believe in Raphinha or DCL/Digne from the beginning.
City almost guarantees you need a quality bench, whereas Liverpool and United are much more reliable when it comes to selections for the league. Not bad, although I don't believe in Raphinha or DCL/Digne from the beginning.
No City players? Going without them entirely?
Thats actually a decent punt. One should start and it covers yourself for 5.5 mil. Interesting idea! One will be on the bench.
Definitely not worth the hassle if they got 2 x Mahrez now!City almost guarantees you need a quality bench, whereas Liverpool and United are much more reliable when it comes to selections for the league.
City will start the season with Sterling, Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Grealish, Ferran, Jesus, Mahrez all competing for those attacking positions.
Even in defence, you slot in Cancelo for the clean sheet at home to Norwich and Pep starts Mendy.
It’s not worth the hassle imo.
You see? Massive problemsDefinitely not worth the hassle if they got 2 x Mahrez now!
