Cheapest way of watching the football this season? (UK)

Apologies if there's a thread. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to be able to watch Sky and BT Sport this season.

I currently only pay for broadband and last season I used Now TV's monthly pass (for Sky Sports) and the BT Sport Monthly Pass. Both cost £25 each, so a total of £50 a month but it obviously came with the flexibility to cancel in a month where I was poor or was not going to be home. I just called up Sky to check what package I could get and after lots of faffing and 'special discounts' offered I got £48.40 but that's an 18 month fixed contract and I'll have no need for it next June/July. Plus it's also a long thing to commit to.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good alternatives?

That actually seems pretty reasonable. For them all through nowtv in Ireland it's €78, which is bonkers as I pretty much only watch Utd games these days. Not a chance I'll be paying it.

It also contained Sky Box fee and some other shit. Just didn't trust it.

Not exactly an alternative and may be totally obvious but try going halves with someone else, you can get several devices and watch on at least two devices at once on both them. I do that currently, use their BT and they use my NOWTV.

edit: if you get NoWTV boost you can watch on 3 devices apparently.

And they got rid of their mobile pass that was 7 euros a month to watch the sky channels.

They may have deals as it comes close to the PL start date. That is what a sky rep told me.

Cheapest of the lot is to go over to a pub and buy a pint and drink it slow.

Pay for BT Internet and then 10 for BT sport...... Any sky games I stream on my Ipad and screen mirror on to the TV.

Not ideal but am I feck paying a tonne of money.

Not exactly an alternative and may be totally obvious but try going halves with someone else, you can get several devices and watch on at least two devices at once on both them. I do that currently, use their BT and they use my NOWTV.

Personally I don’t think it’s that expensive to have all the channels. You just need to make more of a sacrifice in other areas of your life. Stop going out every weekend, buying oatmeal flat whites and avocado toast and you might find you can afford it. I’ve got BT Sport on Virgin Media which gives me access to all the European games and some EPL games and I use my Dad’s Sky account on my PS5 which gives me access to all the Sky Sports channels.

I think good premium VPN's don't suffer from that issue but I could be wrong. I would've assumed it's possible with a VPN and a Revolut card set in that country or something.

Theres an alternative for £50 a year that gets you all the sports channels for everything. My plumber uses it, he doesnt care its illegal. However i dont think im allowed to post its name so won't say anymore. Go do some googling and sure you will find it.

It's never actually 78€ though. Before the season starts they will have a 3 month discounted package. And once the 3 months are done, you just try to cancel the subscription and you will get an offer on more or less the same rate. I moved to Ireland in December last year and didn't pay more than 34€ a month combined for the BT and Sky packages until the end of the season.

Tried DAZN with a VPN but they require payment from a card registered in one the countries where the subscription is based.. Used to be able to it with BEIN Sport in Australia but no more unfortunately.

Ah fairs. It is a small fortune getting all channels then, me and my mrs just got our first place so were looking at tv package deals and even on new customer deals to add Sky & BT it's over £100/m including internet. Just went for internet at £28 and definitely didn't pay £90 for a year for 2 devices to an abhorrent IPTV subscription that's had no buffering issues at all and has every match imagineable.

For by the book the deal they offered you doesn't seem too bad at all tbf.

A pity you cannot watch just the premier league for 24 hours for a fiver. Instead it is a tenner.

I believe DAZN is only for viewers in Canada, Japan, the Philippines, and Spain. You’ll need a payment method from one of these countries to subscribe.

A better bet (if you want to keep things legal) is probably a VPN and Sling TV (which is US-based, but you can still subscribe even without a US payment method, using a Sling TV gift card). Total cost will be $30 a month for the Sling TV subscription plus the cost of a decent VPN.

I had DAZN last year but VPN from the UK is really really sketchy and is hard to use it this year. Tried quite a few times over summer with no success using PureVPN, NordVPN and also changing DNS to Canada. Pretty bulletproof on geo-fencing sadly.
