Sancho and Varane won't be ready. But I can't wait to see Pereira again.
Sancho only joins the squad on Friday. He's had 3 weeks off since the Euros and couple of days he had sorting his transfer out.Why would Sancho not be ready but Martial who has barely trained for months play?
So he's as much likely to play as Martial then?Sancho only joins the squad on Friday. He's had 3 weeks off since the Euros and couple of days he had sorting his transfer out.
Why Martial specifically? I don't think they'll compete for the same position - not for now anyway as I reckon Martial will start as CFSo he's as much likely to play as Martial then?
Sancho is pretty much match fit, so i'd expect him to get some game time, ahead of Martial perhaps.
As per my other post, Sancho is pretty much match fit, it's just sharpness that he will be lacking perhaps for Saturday.Tweet

Martial appears to be in training with the rest of the squad. Assuming they've done a couple of matches behind-closed-doors, Martial is probably ahead right now.
No Elanga is quite shocking tbh. I don't really understand thatTweet

Was only using him because OP said Martial would start if up to him.Why Martial specifically? I don't think they'll compete for the same position - not for now anyway as I reckon Martial will start as CF
I imagine Ole uttered those words every time he announced the team line up last season. Not gonna lie, I'm quite frustrated that Sancho didn't come for training earlier, especially considering his limited involvement with England. 2 players who we'll probably have starting in our opening Prem game who barely got any time training with the squad (not blaming Varane, his situation is understandable). Hope the team look fit in this game against Everton as I'm getting increasingly concerned by the day tbh. I see Fred is back in training, assume he won't be fit to play the full 90 mins but I hope he gets a decent number of mins at least. Right now I'm not too sure what the starting lineup will be against Leeds but I'd assume Ole will try to play as close to the starting team as possible against Everton. I'd expect that Martial and Greenwood will start this game in the positions they will play against Leeds so if Martial is up front and Greenwood on the rw, I expect that's what we'll see in opening game, if Greenwood is up front and Martial's on the lw, I'd assume that will be the way we lineup and I'd assume Sancho will play on the rw. Then again, who knows, maybe Elanga has done enough to earn himself a starting spot?
Hoping we get close to full strength so this is my predicted starting XI:EDIT: Forgot VDB, honestly I've no idea where to put him, maybe instead of McTominay? Looking at the squad I'm not sure we have the luxury of starting him, might get time off the bench ahead of Amad.
De Gea
AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
McTominay Matic
Greenwood Fernandes Elanga
Martial
Players that will come on: Williams, Fred, Pogba, James, Lingard, Amad
EDIT 2: Seeing the full squad and seeing that Elanga and Amad aren't with squad I assume it will be Lingard on the left with Pogba coming on for him at some point.
Varane isn't even in the country so won't be playing Saturday. Technically he hasn't even signed for us yet.De Gea, Heaton, Grant, Kovar, Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Maguire, Lindelöf, Tuanzebe, Jones, Shaw, Williams, Matić, Fred, McTominay, Pogba, Van de Beek, Fernandes, Pereira, Mata, James, Lingard, Greenwood, Martial
That's an uninspiring list. Could point to at least 3/4 players in that group that should have already been sold. My guess is our first starting 11 will be made up of players in the above. Unless Ole throws Varane in the deep end, which he could easily handle. Sancho most likely on the bench imo.
I meant for the opening fixture against Leeds. It's my own fault, I didn't make that clear in the slightest.Varane isn't even in the country so won't be playing Saturday. Technically he hasn't even signed for us yet.

van de Beek could do with 45 mins at least. I want to see him punch people with his new muscle arm.
I imagine Ole uttered those words every time he announced the team line up last season.
Slight injury apparentlyNo Elanga is quite shocking tbh. I don't really understand that
Seems that would make Van De Beek a right forward?link
Here's who the Manchester Evening News thinks will start...
Predicted line-up vs Everton (4-3-3): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Matic, McTominay, van de Beek; James, Fernandes, Greenwood.
Fernandes as a false 9 I’d imagine with Mason and James either sideSeems that would make Van De Beek a right forward?
I'm curious to see if that player between Tuanzebe and Shaw is ever going to be fit? Poor, poor man. He would have been a great defender without those 16,452 injuries.Tweet

https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/bruno-fernandes-looking-forward-to-tough-everton-testWe can reveal that Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial will all start Manchester United’s pre-season friendly against Everton today.
Unfortunately, Jesse Lingard is unavailable after testing positive for Covid-19. He is isolating in line with Government and Premier League Guidelines.
Bruno said:The standard of Everton is really high.
After that, there is one week before we start. It will be good to have a last test against a Premier League club with high standards and really good, quality players.
With this game, it's about performing well and getting some minutes in the legs.
We want to win the game, but the result will not be the most important thing. At the same time, though, we want to win.

I was behind the goal. De Gea made a ridiculous save in that match tooThey're replaying the Everton game from 14/15 on MUTV. DDG saved a penalty! Not only that, it was apparently the first penalty Leighton Baines had missed in his entire career.
So he's not totally useless at them.
