PSG is his only option but maybe it's a way how to pressure Tebas?

The crown jewel in the modern day Barcelona is finally gone, this is the end of an era. It must be painful for all those associated with the club, but in the long run, with the financial situation they are in, it’s for the best. They need to sort out the finances of the club from here and focus on re building their team in their image and not get sucked into the big money market that has effectively ruined them.

For Messi, PSG is the obvious destination. City would have been but with their massive outlay on Grealish, I think they will pass on him, Chelsea would also be a possible destination and maybe London life would suit him. However I think he will opt to avoid England and go to France if given the choice.

Would be hilarious seeing him end up at City only to have the most expensive PL player ever immediately relegated to the bench

He's much more suited to the #9 in Pep's system than Kane, it will be tragic if he joins City.

How much of less will the club use on player salaries now? Wasn't there a rumor that Messi alone earned more than the rest of the first team combined or something insane like that?

City might walk away having just spent £100m on Grealish. I’m sure Pep would have known for a while if his buddy Messi was going to stay or not, so that might suggest they’ve already made the decision.

Surely he will have to lower his demands now?
The reported 500k a week for the next 5 years was bonkers

Leave Messi to those who don’t need to balance their books. He is 34 FFS

City looking for a last minute cancelation clause from the Grealish deal

fecking wow though. Barcelona in shambles.
In shambles? I'd think this is great for Barcelona. It's probably a sportive setback for next season, but it's financially healthy and allows them to properly continue the rebuild of their team, rather than that effort being hamstrung by always having to put Messi first in their plans, which messes up the squad balance and tactics. So I'm with @Blades1889:
Helps Barca out big time.

Looks like the talks broke down at the last minute so not sure (although who knows what's happening behind the scenes). Is it impossible for City to ditch the Grealish deal and instead splurge on Messi

If I was him I’d just be a club s!ag for a the rest of my career, almost like a tour of all the main leagues in the world.
6 months in China
6 months in USA
6 months in France
6 months in England
Etc etc, I feel that’s the only way clubs will be able to afford his wages, on very short term deals
Maybe the clubs can auction for his signature at the start of each transfer window. Would be fun.

Maybe but it’s a hell of a lot of money even for PSG but they seem like the only ones could pay it, don’t see City pay it.
