He's close to retirement, he wants a more competitive team (for the CL) than Juventus. If Madrid or PSG don't come in for him, it's not an impossible move.
maybe it’s an agent ploy to try drum up interest from Madrid, PSG and more importantly united. I mean this window has been surprising already as shown with Messi moving but I just can’t in any circumstance see Ronaldo at city.

Voted the best city in the world
We're about 12 months off for challenging for both. Maybe we'd challenge for at least one of those in a significant way if he joined us.

It can't be that.

He doesn't even start for City. They will have Grealish/Foden LW, Kane #9 and Sterling/Marhez RW.
I’d assume he’d be the Kane replacement in the event the Kane deal doesn’t happen. Not saying it’ll happen but just logically, they’d not waste their time in signing both.

Awful build up play

Christ. It's like people don't watch football.
Yes, awful build up play. Have watched every single one of his matches for Juventus the past few seasons and his build up play was non-existent last season.

There was a phrase amongst some Juve fans last season, "Ronaldo is where build up goes to die".

His movement, finishing, sharpness, speed are all still utterly superb. His build up play is not.

Would be a bit of a dick move to go to city, but in the end Ronaldo isn't really a club guy, he cares about Ronaldo and Ronaldo's legacy, nothing else.

Absolute, unmitigated bollocks.

What you mean to say is that you haven’t watched a single game he has played since he’s been there.

This wouldn’t really help his name though, tbh. Yeah he’ll score a ton but he’ll lose the respect of millions

Mostly from United fans of course, but a lot of kids internationally will support city now, because they're successful and have Ronaldo.

The man was ready to anger those millions by calling himself a slave when he wanted his move to Madrid. He cares about winning and while this move doesn't seem likely, it would not really shock me.

You kid yourself if you think he would never go to City. Imo, it's more like City don't want him.

He would lose pretty much any goodwill he had at this club. I am baffled he'd gladly throw it away

The main benefit to this would be not seeing SIIIIIUUUUUU again on the forum.

I don't think there is any soft spot in that egocentric mind for Madrid, let alone United.

He appreciates and loves Fergie, but that's about it imo.

Going to City is his only chance of winning CL again.

I guarantee you'd still see it. There are a baffling number of so called "United fans" who support him far more than our club. I was finished with him when he agreed with Blatter's "slave" comments to be honest.

Wouldn't be shocking at all if he - Ronaldo - wanted the move.

I'd perhaps be slightly surprised if Pep actually wants him badly enough to match his current wages, pay whatever transfer fee would be involved, and so forth - but purely from Ronaldo's own perspective, no: it wouldn't be a shocker at all.

He'd jump at the chance to go to City, where the odds of adding another CL to his resume are considerably better than at Juve (which looks like a bit of a dead end at the moment - could easily struggle considerably to win the league, a league most people consider second rate these days anyway).

I'll agree, only destination that is financially viable and who actually need a striker too.

Question is what does Pep think? Would be a bit of an odd couple that is for sure  !

Ronaldo please. One or two years would be a terrific bookend for him and for the fans.
It would be fecking great for the likes of Rash, Greenwood and Sancho to play alongside him as well.

It almost makes too much sense.

He might consider it too, build up a better partnership with Fernandes ahead of the WC ! ;)

I call bollocks. I could well be wrong of course but my judgment of ronaldo suggests that he wouldn't do it out if respect to united and SAF. We will see. We will probably never see though, what happened behind closed doors if he remained at Juve (that city may well have rejected him for instance).

Even if he doesn't leave, people are fooling themselves if they think Ronaldo has this big affinity for us.

He left us and SAF when we were at the top to join a project. He has no adoration towards us.

He would score a lot for them. He would essentially be like Kane in their system, but better.

The tiniest upside (though in no way balancing it out) would be the meltdowns from the Ronaldo worshippers who over the years have convinced themselves that he loves United and post exceedingly cringeworthy stuff about him all the time.

Obviously this would be shit, but it might be quite funny seeing Pep trying to get him to press.

So despite the many many MANY positive things Ronaldo has said about United since leaving, it’s taken a link to City for MANY United fans taking a dump on Ronaldo. Claiming that he doesn’t infact like United & it’s all for show.

United fans man.

I'd rather they get Kane.

If City end up getting Ronaldo then it will be the worst transfer season for Utd in our history.
