This is going to sound salty but this is so stupid. If a guy who's been reading the news and been keeping up with proceedings, you would know how screwed la liga is and how skint they are. They won't be competing any time soon. The power is all in the PL, Paris, Bayern at the moment. Good luck to you though

Barca no chance but Real yes. Especially if they are getting Mbappe and Pogba.

A brain-dead idiot thought it would be a good idea to sign a player for United against his wishes when he had only real Madrid or PSG on his mind. We should only go for players who are happy to be here.

Real are probably going to get Haaland, Mbappe, and Pogba next year.

This is the same club clamouring for the Superleague and the defence was that they were saving football because that would allow them to buy big players. Either that was complete bullshit or they are skint.
getting players on free doesn't mean they also pay 'normal' wages. Those wages will be upwards of £500k a week. This is real Madrid doing a Barca imo. Going to run themselves into the ground

I remember that exchange in his thread. It would've been Angel all over again.

Ahh, if there is any time to take chances in La Liga it's the next few years. Barca are going to be a shell of themselves, and their midfield is near it's end. Why not take a punt on a kid and wait for Pogs to get out his contract?

That’s Modric’s replacement right there if he continues to progress. We haven’t even replaced Carrick.

Good addition for RM it seems. Proper value for money signing. Never truly believed the links to us - him and Mbappe seem to have eyes only for RM. Also, he looks depressed at the though of living which is a good sign.

Madrid has the most fickle fan base in the world whom the entire world isn't enough and no matter what they will always want the hotel new toy out there (regardless of weather it helps them or not)
Right now if reports are to be believed is that they have the second or third wage bill in the entire football world behind psg and barca and they have extended the contracts of many of their players who are on rather big wages

Taking a punt on all those players at the same time with the massive wages that they demand their agent fees and other bulshit and the fact that they don't even guarantee success on the pitch(just like the first galactico era too many egos who are not even stylistically compatible on the field) will mean that they will dig themselves in hole that will take them atleast a decade to sort out

The fees in football has become so inflated that taking these kinda of risks will legitimately bankrupt the club and surely the risk of doing a barca ten fold is big enough to deter them to do their wet dream galactico

But I guess it doesn't matter as the feckers will get bailed by Spanish government anyway

No more talk of Jones going out on loan?
Once Ole said he'll not be able to play for another 4-6 weeks last week then there was zero chance of him leaving in this window.

Best you can hope for is that he's able to play some U23 games before January to show he's still able to keep up and someone will try to loan him in.

Barça asked Joâo Félix on loan, they expect an answer tomorrow
In an overall strange transfer window, this is one of the strangest stories to emerge. On what possible basis do Barcelona think Atletico would loan him to them? This is kinda like if we rock up at City and tell them we want to take Foden on loan.

When did he play for us last?

Can't believe we aren't in it . It's a loan with an option. Seriously?
We would need Lingard out for it to make sense financially. We'd have a player earning money and unable to play. We're already gonna have that with Jones and Grant. Don't need to add any more.

I don't think most players care about that stuff, they generally sign for whoever pays them the most.

After failing to acquire both Faivre and Miranchuk, Messias is Milan's only remaining option now.

Who is that though? Like name the top CDM’s? Kante, Casemiro, Busquets, Fabinho, Fernandinho, Rodri? They all play for top sides. Which leaves us with the list we know of this summer.

Rice - price tag of £100m that is too much when we’ve bought Sancho and Varane.

Neves - not always in the Wolves team so why is an upgrade for us. He has passing and shooting skills that are something our CM lacks but he’s not the holding midfielder in the DM mould. He’s closer to maybe Carrick but I’m not sure he has that ceiling.

Camavinga - more of a box to box at this point in his young career and always wanted Spain.

Bissouma - is he an upgrade on Fred, McTominay or Pogba? I don’t know. At least he’s play ahead of Matic but I don’t think he’s a guaranteed success.

Zakaria - seems another Fred to me. Outplayed by Xhaka at the Euros.

Locatelli - wanted Juventus.

Is there anyone playing at the likes of Sevilla, Villareal, Napoli, Atalanta etc that we could have plucked? Those mid tier CL level clubs who need money and can’t hold out for £50m+ fees. I haven’t heard any of those names this summer. Just seems like DM or DLP’s are in short supply right now.
I think the mindset that "if we can't get a world class DM then we should stay put" is not realistic.
If none of the best option is available, getting someone who is just slightly better is still better than not getting anyone at all.
Right now our CM had no competition at all, because they're basically the best we got. There's no urgency for them to get better because they know they'll still get picked no matter how bad they played.

Getting someone who is just slightly better, like Neves or Saul or whoever that is, will bring competition and will forced everyone to step up their game. Trying to get Saul or Neves is a no brainer for me.
Saul, on loan with option to buy is low risk high return deal is a safe deal as it can be. Being in new environment may provide him the impetus of getting back in form and Saul in form is miles better than what we got
Neves with the price being quoted is also a good deal. Much better passer and composure than any of our midfielder. He brings things that our other midfielders lacked.

It's mind boggling that Ole is content with his midfield options

  • Lazio went for Zaccagni after missing out on Kostic.
  • Fee: €8m + €2m in bonuses
  • Agreement with club but not with the player (yet)
  • Hellas Verona's replacement: Gianluca Caprari (Sampdoria)

  • Lazio were also interested in Brekalo.
  • Dennis Praet has signed his contracts with Torino.
  • Torino are also interested in Sofyan Amrabat but will need to sell before acquiring him.

That’s the mindset of any well run club. It’s why we would rather wait a year for Sancho than go for someone like a Sarr. You don’t buy players just because they might be slightly better than what you have. We did that under LVG and it was a mess.

And yet they made an obscene bid for Mbappe!
They have a reasonably good squad and will get better with the addition of Mbappe and Pogba.

Aliou Traoré is garnering some solid interest this summer.
After the failure of the closing of negotiations with FC Basel, at least three clubs are in the race to sign the Frenchman [Aliou Traoré], including Juventus and FC Porto.
