Is it weird I genuinely think he does nothing at all? I’m convinced he’s just a ‘face’ if that makes sense. The crowd at the ground are starting to get very impatient now, let’s hope we are all the idiots!

The problem with your extremely childish argument is that Klopp is wildly considered to be top 1-2 managers in the world and won the league with this side, he also won the Champions League for good order. He currently finds himself on top of the table without them really spending any money this summer, so there's that too. Please stop mentioning him alongside Ole Solskjær, it's just two different levels, different planets.
Klopp also did 97 & 99 pts seasons (30-7-1) (32-3-3) back to back too. Whereas Ole's highest is 74 pts (21-11-6). Wish this comparison would just die. He is never getting to that level in a million years.

I'll just expand because it seems people are not getting the point - Sometimes top sides are not able to beat a side that they should ideally be beating - it may be because our side had an off day or the opponent turned up.

It doesn't mean that the manager is shit or the players are shit. It's just that things didn't go in your favour. As far as "having won things" argument is concerned, it has nothing to do with a result of a game. Should we win the league next year or this year, that won't make the result vs Villa acceptable, just like Pool's result vs Brentford won't be acceptable to their fans irrespective of what Klopp has achieved with them
Nobody is missing the point. You're the one unable to contextualize the fact that this type of performance and result is far from a one-off for Ole. It's a repeated trend, and the reason many are rightfully questioning his ability as a manager.

I’m not one of those calling for Ole’s head but I do think the club will act quickly if it’s not working. Our squad is excellent and has been invested in heavily, it feels make or break for Ole. unfortunately that’s 3 poor results in a week, pressure will be mounting if we don’t get 3 points against Villarreal.
If you don't join the Ole-out club, you will miss out on Amadeus's recitation of "The Pochbook" this Thursday.

Those talking about Liverpools 3-3 today against Brentford.

If United had let slip a 3-2 win away to Brentford this place would go up in flames.

Just admit it, that is exactly what would happen.

That's like, one club from the 3 he has managed and the only one at a shit league.

Great example at how to use stats to prove a point while throwing context out of the window.
Many rate Rogers triumphs in Scotland. I’d say that’s an inferior league too

Coming up with excuses to our performances ( not results) with the world class squad we have is pathetic.
How can anyone look at our squad and think the problem is still the players? Wait 1 min before you write, think, take a look at the names again, take a look at our bench and only then come here and write.

There's no need to expand. People understand the spurious point you're trying to make; they're just calling you out on the nonsense of it. Context is everything in football. Looking at games in isolation is all well and good, but it completely ignores everything that came before. That's why the equally fatuous claims about this being "only 5 games into the season" and "it's only one result, give him a chance" are nonsense. Frustration gets built up because we can see similar patterns emerging over a 4 season period. The same complaints people have now are the same complaints they had about 3 seasons ago.

That's why pointing out every time Klopp or Guardiola fecks up as if it proves some point is a superficial way of analyzing anything. We all know shit happens. Teams lose games. Teams, regardless of how good they are, will always lose games. But those managers have already proven that overall, when everything is said and done, they will come out on top. Ole hasn't done that yet, and despite the progress we have made at times, it's a case of one step forward and two steps back.

Would possibly be the case. And if Klopp was doing as shit a job in getting trophies in his time there with a clear lack of style of play with a team assembled having spent over 100s of millions of dollars, then it would have been justified as well.

However Klopp has earned leeway which Ole hasn't even come close to.

I would argue the larger point is not that we were beaten today, but that too often we look beatable.

Of course it would happen but this Liverpool team is really not great players wise. We have a far superior squad on paper than they do (I expect you to disagree of course). Liverpool results shouldn't take focus away from our own problems which we have plenty of.

I'm reluctant to call for him to leave too quickly, as he is still a breath of fresh air compared with LvG and Jose, has improved the squad massively, and I'm not confident we'd have a clue who'd be right to replace him, if there is anyone at all right now.

It's not ideal, but we are still in a far better place than we were when he arrived.

We have a fantastic squad of players with a strong focus on youth and attacking football. That’s a million miles ahead of where we were when he took over.
I agree we've had good recruitment. But I wouldn't describe it as incredible. I also wouldn't say we have attacking football when we only have 1 shot on goal in the europa final etc.

Don't know why Liverpool or Chelsea are being brought in defend Ole. Tuchel and Klopp have tons of credit in the bank and have played far more difficult fixtures than what we have. This squad could be title challengers if we had the right coaching team in, but people want to support Ole rather than the club doing the right thing. Either Ole changes his coaching team or we are going to continue with more performances like today.

If we blew a lead to Brentford & drew this place would be up in flames, yes.

If Ole had led us to a PL title & a CL title in the last 3 years, and we blew a lead to Brentford & drew, people would be frustrated with the result, but the manager would not be questioned.

Klopp has plenty of credit in the bank at Liverpool, Ole barely has any at United.

The top managers have credit in the bank. Ole has very little, and right now with 3 defeats and 7 losses in 11 CL games with Villarreal coming up he's on the overdraft and needs a win in midweek.

The possible injuries, an astute coach who knows how to setup against us and won multiple Europa Cups, our crap home form, it would be a big boost if Ole can manage his way through Villarreal. We've joked about Ole tests but this is really one coming up, the players and manager have to come together with a plan and really fight for the right to win. Too many teams know how to frustrate United with negative tactics.

Think other teams want him to stay which says a lot.
Of course. Just like we are delighted to see Arteta managing Arsenal, our rivals are delighted to see Ole and want him to stay here forever because we won't be a threat to them.

We do have a superior team, I don't disagree with you there at all. I'd take VVD and Trent, we'd have 3 amazing centre backs and a world class RB. I don't disagree for the sake of disagreeing though.

We do have problems of our own that need addressing, and I'm fully aware of that, but I'm patient and can see where things are heading for the club, for me personally it seems like the right direction. It's the first season with a proper squad, barring a DM and a RB, this is largely Ole's squad. He has to pull it out the bag over the next 3 years and I'm prepared to give him that.Give him till the end of his contract and if it's still not good enough then look at where things are. If we've won a couple trophies but not the big 2, I'd still keep him. If he's won nothing, then ok, my unwavering support for Ole will start to wain.

But I'm not blind to the fact that we have problems, far from it.

It's probably @UnitedSofa secondary account.
Haha! Despite all the debates we've all had today and being called a top red and all that, I do enjoy the banter and I'm self aware to know that my passion for the team (which includes Ole of course haha) can sometimes come across as "I'm better than you" etc etc.

I just want what's best for the club as we all do, I just see the criticism as wayyyy over the top, especially after we lose, it's simply a case now of we lose = ole out. There's no logic to it.

Things take time and there has been improvement, you'd be blind not to see the improvement. Just got to keep the patience and see what happens this season. There's certainly no need to panic. Especially since there's a point between 1st and 4th at the moment. You never know next week we could be top of the league and 2 points clear.

It's a long season and a lot of people need to realise that and we aren't going to win every game.

I'm not happy with the way Ole is currently managing the team but selecting our manager based on anything our rivals think is moronic.

No doubt we'd be disappointed but if we had won the Champions League and Premier League recently, I'm sure we'd soon get over it. Certainly, no one would be calling for his head. In the real world, though, we are Europa League losers and will end up potless again this season.

Fair enough and yes, you sometimes come across as "I'm better than you" especially when calling fans who have been supporting the club for a lot of years and just don't see Ole as the right man to take us back where we belong, as plastic. Anyway, some fair points except that 3 more years one  So even if we fail to win anything this season and next season while playing the same tumescent football, you would give him more time? That would take us to 6 or 7 trophy-less seasons with Ole, I just don't understand why he deserves that much time. To me it's insane and a complete waste of time but I guess agree to disagree on that

People would say how can we still not beat these teams after winning the UCL/PL. They'd still call for his head.

To me it feels like most people want a 'hipster manager'

My problem with Ole is that in his world everything is great. The players are great, the staff are great, the board are great to work with. Frankly he’s too nice, Ferguson was a bad bad loser and Ole isn’t that at all.

Swings and roundabouts, would you be happy with a couple finals and maybe we win 1 and come away with nothing the next two seasons?

It all depends where we finish in the league too, it's not as simplistic as that. I'd take 2, 2nd place finishes over 2 4th and 5th finishes. I mean not finishing 1st is not finishing 1st you can't change that. But if we were challenging for the title and pushing teams all the way, I'd be happy to give him more time.

All depends if he can get a DM and 'officially' start to play the football he wants. I believe there is a system there but not all the players can play it. He would need to find a system that suits the players he has now, rather than shoe-horning a system into players that simply cannot play it. It seems as though, for me, those players is Fred/McTominay. (See a criticism! haha! More so Fred than McT) If we were to get a Rice type of player and a RB in the same ilk of Shaw I believe we'd start to play much better football. Though we do play some beautiful football at times (yes I know it needs to be more often and not in bursts). See I can criticise.

You never know what goes on behind the scenes. Apparently Ashley Young (there's an article somewhere) said that Ole goes absolutely berserk in the dressing room and that's where it should be and not in public.

How many times do you think SAF would be seen as "losing the dressing room" the amount of times he lost his rag to reporters? Countless times.

Too early to judge Ole in this season. Losing today was bad but we have played only six league games and, in all honesty, anything can happen. If we are out of the title race by the end of December then the club needs to think about the replacement for the next season. For now Ole deserves some support as he really strengthened our squad in the past three years. If we compare this squad to the squad that Ole inherited from Jose, it is night and day and it is mostly down to Ole. We can still challenge this season and have a great CL run and I’m sure the whole team is determined to make it happen.

If we lose against VillaReal, Ronaldo will definitely start a ruckus. Ronaldo & Varane are champion league winners, they are not here to play Europa League.
We gave Ole benefit of the doubt in his first two full seasons because our squad hadn't been good enough for awhile but that mindset had changed at the moment he brought in these type of players.

I got so excited for new season but performance in the last 3-4 games wer really embarrassing. Next game is very important for him, no more excuse.

The players didn't seem to be ready for the game. Solskjaer and the coaching staff will have to address these slow starts.

Here's an interesting stat
We lost a grand total of 7 home games under Mourinho in all competitions
Under Ole we've lost 17 home games and counting in all competitions
Make of that what you will

The frustrating thing is that all Ole needs to do is to hire some top classes coaches and let them work on the team. He doesn't have to do it ALL himself. Get a Meulensteen, Quieroz or whoever, to fill in the deficiencies in his own coaching and give him the confidence to try different formations in games. Is Eric Ramsay the one? I feel again we are taking a punt on a young, relatively unproven coach instead of someone who's been part of title winning teams.

His man-management and squad building is great, and most importantly he understands the club ethos. I think he's actually a good manager, but a not-so good coach. So, just hire better, more experienced coaches to work for him!

He needs to go. That was the final straw for me.

He waited so long to make an attacking sub when it was obvious it wasn't working.

The problem is that I don't think we'll be bad enough so our clueless owners sack him, but we won't be good enough to challenge for the trophies. We'll be stuck in football hell if he stays at the club.

He's done a good job reshaping the squad and mentality, but he's not an elite manager. We need 1.
