Messi putting up a masterclass, unbelievable passing, creating chances, dribbles. Funny that people were disregarding this PSG team after just 2 or 3 games. That front 3 are now starting to glue, Verrati is back and they have been looking good, and will even get better as well. For sure one of the CL favorites

Messi's been very good. Playing very deep.

Sulemana looks a threat everytime he gets the ball.

They lack a bit of balance. Everybody has spoken about the lack of work rate in the front three. But also nobody in that team likes to play with back to goal.

They will be caught in transitions, yes but i reckon they dont have that many players in front of the ball against decent teams. They were a bit more conservative against City

Paris is extremely unbalanced with this lineup. There is no way you can consistently win football games with this front 4 plus 2 very attack-minded full-backs. You are bound to concede goals whenever you face half-decent opposition.

Funny that you think they are gelling after one game but they are actually losing to Rennes.

If you would actually watch the game you would see they are dominating Rennes. But as it happens in this game, 2 lucky chances can mean 2 goals.

Who gives a feck if they are dominating Rennes? They are suppose to dismantle Rennes. Did you even look at PSG line up?

Those front three will have magical moments in games but over 90min they will do very less to help to team in defending, tracking back etc.

0.78 xG vs 1.03 xG. 9 shots each. 0 on target for PSG.

Except they kind of...... aren't dominating.

Not surprised Amaedeus is late to come the conclusion that Poch isn’t good enough. Romantism hinders his perspective and many fans on here. I was one of the few that realized this early on, as I have amazing foresight.

I do believe he can take PSG farther, because the team he has is unbelievable good. PSG hasn't have a team this talented in depth and in starting position since ever. So, there is a lot of room for Poch to get them farther than what he has accomplished so far. If he can get second with the team he had last season, then with the current team, he should be able to get second or first and win a trophy.

Exactly the problem of Benitez's Madrid in late 2015 (CR, Benzema, Bale, James, Modric, Kroos + 4 defenders), until he was sacked.

BT commentator calling him 'Mumbappe' :nervous:
Sorry to derail the thread, but this is one thing about the pronunciation of African names by some Europeans which always irritates me. I don’t get why they always feel the need to emphasise on the beginning M or N of African names.

The worst is placing an apostrophe after the first letter (usually for M or N, followed by a consonant) to indicate that it must be emphasised.

In Mbappe’s example, the pronunciation is seamless without need to emphasise on the M or create a new syllable at the beginning which isn’t there.
