Arteta was the worst coach in the world 3 games ago. A couple of good games won’t change that yet. This isn’t even a good performance but the 3 points is all that counts.
Exactly. Arsenal lose one game and people will be back mocking Arteta. The flip flop attitude people have is really frustrating.

Agreed. Still a better shape and tactical plan than what we’ve served up all season.

Surprised to see Arsenal buy Ramsdale. They probably bot him as a back up to Leno but glad to see him being no1 for now. I never really liked Bernd Leno. The other guy they just bot Runarsson 1 or 2 seasons ago was pretty bad.

"The game plan has worked perfectly" is such an annoying thing to say when the team in question barely managed to cling on to their lead for half the game only with the help of a couple of improbable GK saves.

"Lads, our plan today is to be good for half of the game, and lucky for the other half. Now get out there, let's go"

Maybe. We will be 11th with Ole and our superstars.
If Arteta can get them performing consistently you may be right but I just can't see it myself.

As for United if Ole's here at the end of the season he'll have turned it around and we'll be much higher than that. If he doesn't turn it around he'll be gone by December. Either way, we aren't finishing 11th under Ole.

It's a goalies job to make saves. I am always astonished at people suggesting a top professional goalie making g top saves is luck.

Could do with Ziyech turning up today, especially with no Mount, Kova, Werner, Lukaku or Puli.
I'm not particularly confident. Our record at St James Park in the last decade is, ehm, interesting. Something like 2 wins in the last 8 or 9 seasons.

Glad I’m not the only one whose piss has been boiled by the BT commentary.

I hope the police were watching the last clip of that creep blowing kisses in the crowd.

What an absolute wrong 'un.

And then after that great Ramsdale save they decided to rave over each and every subsequent one as if it was historic, even if it's just standard stuff from a very narrow angle. Brought up Schmeichel. Aubameyang makes a good volley cross and they bemoan that it wasn't Van Basten 1988. Etc.

Looks like Arsenal are going to benefit from having no European football at all this season. Worked for Chelsea in 16/17 and us in 13/14 to a certain extent.

They bought him because Leno is a free at the end of the season and he wasn't signing a deal

It was a great save considering how fast the ball was and it was near the top right hand corner. However, he relied on the crossbar and his follow-up was not good enough and almost conceded. It was a superb save but not world-class yet.

Not true. His contract ends at the end of season 22/23

It's not luck that he makes saves, it's luck that a team wins a game in which a GK has to make so many saves. Congrats on the win though.

End of next season, not sure if his contract ends in 2023 or 2022 with Arsenal having an option to extend.

they wont be top 4. Simply because theyre nowhere near the current top 4 in terms of quality

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Glad I’m not the only one whose piss has been boiled by the BT commentary.
They started with the narrative that Arsenal are back and kept with it repeatedly saying how fantastic they were defensively as they watched Leicester continually get in behind and miss good chances that second half.

Edit - Leicester had an Xg of 1.98

Looks like there’s less competition for 4th this year, but we’re really just not very good. I think there’s very little chance that we can sneak it.

The lady (Lucy something?) was poor, just spouting the usual shit about needing to score when on top. Keown is just as bad as well, but that’s nothing new. He just praised Ramsdale for knowing all about Maddison and where he was going to put his free kick, when literally seconds before Ramsdale said he thought he was gonna put the free kick the other side.

It's just the ultimate example of the result dictating the narrative. You see it all the time. You particularly see it in European competitions when an English team travels away, gets an early goal, sits back, and gets pummelled by the opposition but somehow holds on and gets the win. "A masterclass. The perfect away performance"

There is more competition I think, in the sense that no team outside the top 3 stands out, with the rest all being flawed. United, Leicester, Arsenal, West Ham and even Spurs can find themselves in a strong position if they go on a bit of a run.

Are people flip flopping, or is it the fact that this forum had a shit ton of users who’ll have a different opinion on things?

He’s doing a good job, and my 8 posts in the Arteta thread are all defending him.
