He looked better in those 4 minutes than all our midfielders.

But..but..Ole is never wrong and VDB is shit.

in 5mins immediately proved why so many on here want him to start games, he's actually proactive and makes runs.

Except Scott has a somewhat different role. Pogba is the correct reference as he plays in midfield as a creative player (surely not for any other reason).

Is Pogba a better footballer? Sure. Better fit? Have a hard time thinking DvB could do worse, even with his very small sample size.

Much better in five minutes than Pogba was all night. There's no reason not to give him a chance.

The thing is I think he would be a good match for Fernandes with his quick thinking and passing....but they barely have been on the pitch together.

Same with Mata and Bruno, they were brilliant together in some of our UEL games in 2019-20.

Would he even shower after that cameo? Shame his shot didn't go in.

Surely he could play the role Pogba did today without being any worse?

Delighted for Donny. Finally got some minutes and almost scored the winner. Hope he gets a run of games now, except he won't. Definitely deserves to play ahead of Pogba. I actually think he could be very handy against City, if provided a chance.

But is he on his last year of contract demanding highest salary and doing absolutely feck all? Ole wouldn't buy that.

Have said before under a competent manager this midfield has potential to do damage if we have Dalot and Telles as wingbacks to provide the width.
You need clever creative players to feed our forwards. Donny ticks those boxes.

Was nice to see him on. Him and Sancho are probably the most able players when pressed. Should have put them on a lot sooner and we could have had a win.

Play them together with one holder and they'll both make runs past the forwards. It'd be a nightmare to defend.

Would quite like to see him and Fred in Midfield for City if we play a back 3.

'Did well for the 2nd goal' - aka makes a run in behind and then completely fluffs a pass that luckily comes back to Ronaldo. The less this guy plays, the better he gets. Forget him doing absolutely nothing in the 36 games he played last season.

Football IQ personified. His off-ball created the second goal. That exact same off-the-ball movement also almost won us the game at the end. Praise him for coming on as an outcast and doing that.
