Stadium regulars are different breed. They've been so brainwashed, they actually believe that booing the manager=not showing support from the club. This has mainly been done because Fergie, more or less, became synanymous with the club and thus booing someone incompetent like Ole would be like booing Fergie because Ole occupies the same position. And for most United fans - Fergie as the manager is all they've known. We're stuck in the past as a club, both inside and out. Prehistoric club, through and through.
You'll like this one from Ole Discussion thread from last Sunday.

Comes with a free sick bag thanks to the level of sanctimony.

Then you're either deaf or the TV mics didn't pick it up. I was there and it was getting belted out throughout the game.

Ole retains the support of the hardcore, even if there are doubts. Cos that's what supporters do.

It means nothing, the majority are still firmly brainwashed...

Applauding the manager/players after that performance:lol: our match going fans are a weird bunch as much as we all respect them

That’s just not the case. Everyone I speak to in and out of the stadium knows it’s not good enough, with even the most supportive Ole fans were admitting it’s not going to work out after the Liverpool game.

I’m not sure why people are still struggling to figure out that not booing, or singing when we’re losing, doesn’t mean you want Ole to continue.

Any football club that is making major decisions, like whether to sack a manager, based on how loud fans boo, is not run correctly.
I am quite sure the club sees the fans as consumers. If the consumers show a dislike for what they are being served, there's a high chance that the decision makers would take a lot more notice than they would otherwise. And I would be surprised if the fans already don't know about this.

Always happy to hear the lads on here telling me how I should support the team at the ground.

Feel free to DM me further specifics. We need to be told.

It’s probably seen as a bit rich coming from an old cnut like me who used to go but doesn’t go any more but I feel match Going fans need to get their shit together and be more vocal towards change, be it that of the manager or especially of the owners , look at the affect of the Liverpool fixture after the ESL debacle.

They seem so passive at the moment.

Was going to say the same. Another thread where forum fans can teach the ones at the stadium how to act. We need a few more of those.

The board care far more about online traction than the opinion of match going fans.

It still wouldn't hurt to let the Board know through gestures. Showing support doesn't affect anything.

Van de Beek is a bit of a **** favourite in the stadium. The cheers and chants were from people singing his name to the tune of Give It Up by KC and the Sunshine Band.

There were some boos at the performance and a bit of grumbling about the manager. But Old Trafford is never going to turn on the man who's holding the reins while the carriage is careering off the road. That would only make things worse.

The next manager is undoubtedly being worked on behind the scenes, so it's paramount the team keep getting support to tide us over until them.
Completely untrue. When the team were booed at halftime vs Liverpool after going 0-4, they came out the second half and only let in one goal. Literally made it better.

Let's sack Ole right now and put Carrick in charge as caretaker.
You never see it much these days, but why doesn’t the club consider Ronaldo as player-manager? There are numerous reasons why this might work, footballing ones and commercial ones.

You're brainwashed for not wanting to boo a club legend? OK.
Yes, they're brainwashed if they're going to politely golf clap this legend as he drags the club down the table, plays players despite being them injured/sick/unfit, refuses to use signings who have cost enormous amounts of money and uses atrocious tactics producing some of the most insipid, passive, cowardly football produced in years.

The welfare of the club comes before any legend's feelings. Sick of this sentimentality.

If he was on the pitch playing sure, but he's the manager now. His job is different. You aren't booing ole the player, you're booing ole the inept manager.

The fact fans can't separate his two roles is playing right into the glazers' hands

Yeah, I'm glad the ground isn't full of supporters like you.

He's very obviously going to get sacked, so please explain how it's playing into the Glazers hands? The board have been slow to act on under performing managers post Fergie, and its the same here. Its nothing to do with Ole being an ex player.

What on earth is telling you he's obviously getting the sack? It's playing into the glazers hands because by erecting a giant wall of a club legend as the manager makes them avoid criticism because fans like yourself won't turn on him no matter how badly he does.

How on earth do you think this situation has nothing to do with him being an ex player? You admitted to yourself in your post you wouldn't boo a club legend. You're doing it yourself

Because he is. Obviously. Not saying its today, but it will be soon. The treatment he's getting from the board is no different to Jose and LVG. They both didn't get sacked until way beyond the points where it was clear they needed to get sacked, and it is the same with Solskjær. The board and owners are slow acting and incompetent.

The message it sends is still the same. "Ignore the haters, you're doing a fine job"
Haha is it feck. Ole knows he isn't doing a fine job. He knows the supporters don't think he's doing a fine job.

I think a big reason why the Ole hasn't been sacked yet is that the fans don't have the heart to hound him out with how much sentiment there is towards him. It might get to a stage where the fans will have to protest their lack of approval for Ole's position in more of an impactful way to force the hands of the decision makers. It shouldn't really be allowed to get to that stage but it will get there eventually unless the club can put Ole out of his misery sooner.
